Hey guys, it’s almost 2024. I hope everyone is making shit work. I had another stint at the ER after resuming daily heavy consumption(glutton for punishment - deserved) so I’ll have an update video for you guys soon. Abstaining from smoking is the solution, don’t be like me. There are consequences to our actions! Best of luck in all of your battles. Much love everyone ♥️

Do you think if it was kept in moderation you wouldn’t have been in the hospital

    • @MorningIron
      @MorningIron 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

@@chelseag8152unfortunately no. I’ve had to visit the hospital even during times that I was hitting only dry flower and only smoking a single bowl in the morning and at night. It seems like once you hit Hyperemesis once, then it can be triggered again by any level of use. This is my main struggle because MJ does so much for me mentally but even with the benefits it gives, I am playing with fire when smoking in moderation. It sucks. The most effective option would be to put it down for good and that is where my current struggles lie

@@chelseag8152no it doesn’t no one who has chs can do it in moderation we all know no one is gonna smoke weed once a month if you even can you’re mind may say you won’t but when you feel it won’t do anything to you you start doing it again then you get it blame it on something else get it again and possibly get liver failure like me and almost die not worth it you never know when the worst case of Chs will happen to you

I've been smoking for 23 years I got CHS about 4-5 years ago when nobody knew what it was and still not a lot of people know about it even at dispensaries, I quit smoking for a year after getting super sick going to the hospital, then started up again smoked for about 4 months before starting to feel sick again then I stopped for a few months and came back to smoking and now it's coming back after two months of pretty heavy smoking, it seems for me I could smoke for a little while before I have to stop for at least a month, the problem for me is quitting it's so hard once you start up again, and when I quit that's when a lot of my stomach pains start it's like marijuana was numbing the pain and causing it because when I quit I feel a lot of my pain for a couple weeks.

Having an episode of CHS has given me the resolve never to touch it again. I've been using in excess on and off for 50 years. I'm a 73 year old woman and will be sharing about this. I, personally, will not put myself through this again. Complete abstinence for this old hen. Not into the suffering at all. 13 days clean again and pressing on to recovery. Gone are the days when I thought it harmless!!!

I was just diagnosed with CHS and I never heard of it before. I guess my sativa gummy each morning and indica gummy each night, bowls of flower during the day; was too much for this old bird. Damn. I was feeling so good until I felt so bad. Nausea caused me to stop wanting to eat, so I lost a lot of weight, which I did not have to lose. The profuse sweating out of the THC was what finally took me to the e/r. I don't want to learn any new tricks this late in my life, but it looks like I am going to have to give up the one thing that fended of the arthritis pains that left me almost unable to walk or stand. Sucks, but it beats the alternative to the massive muscle wasting that has happened to me. Peace and love to all and here's praying for a relief for us all.

This guy is a rare case of it not coming back and getting into the hyper emetic phase, hes lucky hes able to smoke again, and regularly at that. Got officially diagnosed with CHS jan of 2020. quit for 4 months and like him started using regularly again, just flower. i was 100% fine for almost 6 months and bam, one day im hyper-emetic, in the hospital regretting my decision. If you cant quit weed, limit yourself to once a month. its going to come back, its going to feel 100x worse. This guy is lucky but playing with fire. do yourself a favor and just stop once you do. Sobriety is hard but being in constant fear of "what if this hit puts me over the edge and makes me sick" is not worth it. Sorry if you're reading this after hearing this guys success story, but not everyone is lucky like him. Sorry if you're reading this, thinking I'll be able to smoke again. you can, but you will get sick again.

@@1892fgod I was super lucky to discover CHS in prodromal before having full hypermisis repeated vomiting. The day i found out i woke up and vomited acid on an empty stomach, obviously letting me know something was up even though there had been previous signs such as bloating and needing to induce burping to relieve gas and nausea. I was smoking 2-6 bowls a day, just flwr, and built up a crazy tolerance. Since I found out 6 days ago, I went completely cold turkey, not a single hit. I was terrified of never being able to smoke again and that's what's still keeping me clean. For the past 4-5 nights i woke up super sweaty, your explanation seems to make sense. Another symptom after cold turkey i haven't heard anyone else mention, is like randomly getting slight body highs like the feeling you can get under your eyes. It straight up felt like i had so much thc coursing through my veins i was randomly reingesting it days after quitting.

@@SlipperySlopes If you're fairly confident about how you function sober, I'd cold turkey right now for at least a week. You can start up again in moderation, I have recently and haven't had anything close to hyperemesis. The daily use and waking and baking is bad for your tolerance anyway, which is what at least for me led to large frequent consumption and is more likely to build up excess cannabinoids. Generally less cannabinoids you have to consume to get the same high the better.

By the time I was diagnosed with this I had been smoking 24/7 for several months. I met this awesome lady on facebook who told me to quit smoking for 1 week and then I can resume smoking but have to cut down on how much I smoke. So I went a week without it and the nausea/vomiting stopped. After 1 week I smoked 2 bowls and waited a few days and did not get sick. So Now I have been smoking 1-2 bowls a day vs smoking continuously and I no longer have the Nausea and vomiting. It's such a blessing to have met that woman.

@Regardless951 hey man I’m day 16 of no smoking. This is the longest I’ve gone in the past 5 years. When I started detoxing I was prescribed non-narcotic anxiety medication. It helped me so much the first 3 days then around day 5 the medication started to mess with my head, my head felt like it was gonna explode. So I eased off the medication and fully stopped taking it around day 7. Nowadays I barley get anxiety, it’s not nearly as bad as it was when I started detoxing. Writing my anxiety’s and worries onto paper helped me so much bro and working out has helped tremendously. It gave me structure and like a purpose in life and that was the main reason I was smoking I felt like I didn’t have purpose so I smoked to pass time. I’m no longer dealing with withdrawals and my goal is to go 30 full days without smoking and see how I feel. My only advice is to workout, journal your thoughts, and make a plan for each day so you don’t find your self stuck doing nothing. Stay strong my man!!!

CHS is real. I had it in 2022 went from smoking daily with no issues been smoking for 5+ years daily to one September day waking up absolutely feeling like my stomach was ripping apart. That’s when the vomiting started. I vomited constantly every 4-5 minutes for about an hour straight nothing coming out just dry heaving to the point my stomach muscles were cramped up. Also my hands and face would not stop tingling so bad to the point my fingers cramped up and I couldn’t control or move them freely. After 1 day of going through the most painful pain I finally decided to go to the ER it was unbearable. Instead of lying I told the Dr that I was a daily smoker for a long time and he had said that I most likely have CHS. The absolute bad stomach pains that for some reason a hot shower I mean scorching hot shower would only make feel better when he said that I knew that he was right. From that moment on I quit smoking cold turkey not even a second thought. The anxiety after the 1 week was bad very bad but slowly over time got better. It’s been 2 years now I haven’t smoked at all. Don’t even have the desire and don’t think about it at all. It was tough at first but it gets better i promise you just have to stick to it. With that being said videos like these helped me get through my tough times not eating loosing almost 11 lbs in a week. For all out there going through this you’re not alone I believe in you even if it’s hard for you to believe in yourself just know you got this!

Dude, I smoked daily for 22 years before getting CHS and I quit the next day. I had stomach issues for months but now I’m completely fine and I don’t think I would be if I picked up smoking again. So I won’t, even though I sometimes wish I could. But abstinence has increased my quality of life overall in such a massive amount - also in terms of motivation and being able to do things - that this is enough to convince me it is the right thing for me.

day 1 of not smoking. i finally stopped denying that throwing up literally every day for 2 months was from my high level of smoking. i've lost 20 pounds over that time and i've never felt that terrible in my life. i'm in agony not smoking right now, and it's only been 24 hours. i'm not sure if i'll ever be able to fully quit, but knowing there are other people dealing with CHS is going to be one of the most helpful things for me. right now, i cant see a future without weed. i've smoked almost every day for over 4 years, and i have no idea how i'm going to stop. but seeing these videos made me realize i'm not the only one, and that maybe it is possible for me to live my life without smoking.

Thank u so much for posting this. I am in the recovery phase and day 3 of no medical marijuana. There is not a lot of info about chs yet and this could save someone's life. My doctor diagnosed me with stomach flu and not chs so I kept getting worse. Finally on day 9 of a poor liquid only diet I found 1 line that saved me in an article about CHS ...."The urge to compulsively bathe in hot water showers or baths many times a day to ease nasuea". One of the only things that separates it from the stomach flu type. So I went back to the hospital a second time and told the doctor what I found. He even said little is known about chs right now here. I'm on day 3 of no weed now and am going for 10 days. I just hopes its enough. I honestly was smoking dabbing and ingesting tree sap every day before CHS hit me. I'm on Day 3 of 0 green intake and finally got to eat a chicken sandwitch instead of just soup or bread. 22 yrs of heavy smoking. I stopped on the 31st. I Also suffer from chs. I've had 6 days of no smoking. The first 48-72 hrs are the WORST! All of it is true. The nausea , vomiting, heavy heavy stomach pain. But it does get better. I've started to eat again, although very lil bit, but thats the hard part. For me it takes about 2 wks to finally start to eat normal, like ur regular diet. Pedialyte, top romen soups, a simple toast w jelly .. that's wat I've been living off of . Until the regular appetite comes bk and not induced by smoking will everything somewhat go bk to normal. It does get better. U just gotta stay w it. And no THC whether it's flower, pens, or edibles. That is the only 100% cure. Plz stay safe everyone 🙏!!

I happy to hear from you CHS recovery. I also was Diagnosed with CHS and after watching your video's I realized it had to be the same thing. I did learn how dangerous it is to take rig dabs with a torch. Torched dabs started my CHS. You can't control the temperature of the torch and dabs become poisonous at a certain temperature. Over a year ago I threw out the rig and torch and haven't been to the ER since. I also took a break and went back to smoking mostly flower. I will once in a while get a stomach flare but they aren't as bad and controlled. I meet alot of people using a torch that don't know how harmful they are just like I once before so I try and pass it on.

I landed in the hospital a little over 6 months ago for CHS. I had uncontrollable vomiting for about 5 days straight and my fiancé finally convinced me to go to the ER. When I walked through the doors of the ER my chest started to feel like it was caving in on me and it also felt like somebody grabbed my ribs with a death grip, twisted and wouldn’t let go. I thought my body was shutting down and really felt like I was about to die. After a couple of minutes the pain in my chest and ribs subsided. The doctor ran all kinds of test and nothing came back irregular. He couldn’t figure out what was wrong with me and asked if I smoke. I told him yes and he asked me how often. I told him daily. That it was a couple of times a day everyday. Immediately he knew what was going on and diagnosed me with CHS. I stayed in the hospital for a couple of days. Once I got home I had a choice to make. I had my tool box (every real smoker has a tool box) in my closet. Even knowing what smoking had just done to me I wanted to burn so bad. Then I thought about my kids and my fiancé. It wasn’t easy but I threw everything away and I haven’t smoked in almost 7 months now. Might not seem like much of an accomplishment to some but I’m so proud of myself and how far I’ve come. Weed can definitely be an addiction and I never thought so until it put me in a rough spot. I feel more clear minded and focused. I never realized how much time I spent smoking. I would be in my garage for 45 mins to an hr 3 to 5 times a day. I have so much more time to give to my lady and my kids now. It was a real scary moment when everything happened but it ended up being the biggest blessing for me. I’m not knocking anyone who’s still smoking. To each their own but in my case quitting was the best decision for me and I can’t tell you how much better things have been since I did.

The hot showers don’t really seem to do anything to help me and I feel better when I’m colder. I’m not 100% sure I have chs but I know I will have it much worse if I do not cut back now. I don’t plan on completely quitting because I would still like to use at night when I want to chill. Moderation is key for weed and I know friends who have had stomach issues and they now just use in moderation and have no problems. Hoping that people will see this and know there is hope but please don’t go back to smoking all day long every day or you will suffer. Stay strong everyone we’re in it together

You are definitely lucky to be able to smoke again. My only solution to my chs was to completely quit and it’s definitely hard. But I’m honestly no longer having the desire to smoke but I’m afraid in months to come I’ll get the cravings again..that’s how I always end up in the downward spiral..but from my doctors word and how bad my flair ups are I should never touch the stuff again. So I’m glad that you are able to still smoke and be able to do it in moderation, if my symptoms weren’t so severe I’d smoke in moderation but I’ve even attempted that and still got severe flair ups. But now I’m ready to accept what’s not for me and thc is just not for me! And I’ve been feeling so much better without it!

Thank you for this. It's good to know you are feeling better. I quit concentrates and I make my own edibles. 18% THC is as high as I go with flower. I haven't had CHS since November 2021.

Anytime! How much do you put in your edibles? I’ve been wondering if edibles might be okay still but haven’t really experimented with it since everything went downhill. For flower I typically get 22-24% and smoke pretty conservatively.

I believe it's because the weed isn't balanced anymore it has too much THC. It's causing imbalances in the body. This isn't gonna be a good look for marijuana which is funny because these new high THC weed products are fairly new need to go back to organics. My bf is suffering from this right now...

I appreciate that this guy made a video on this topic and was so open about it, I honestly have never experienced it but I have always experience stomach issues since I was a kid I stop experiencing stomach issues after I change my diet and start smoking THC cannabis weed the devils lettuce or what I like to call it I trademarked it myself “ crispy space cabbage“ The thing is there’s not enough studies to back up what causes this and what type of people get this if smoking too much weed gave this reaction to every person that smokes weed often Nigeria would have a bunch of cases of this because they are the highest in cannabis consumption but in reality at least from what I’ve seen they don’t have this issue I think it’s a combination of bad diet and overuse and when I say overuse I say excessive but I love smoking weed I hope this never happens to me and I hope that if this has happened to you and you love Weed as much as I do you feel better you change your diet and hopefully you were able to smoke weed again in moderation of course, But there is no shame in quitting if you are anxious about it happening again

Was sick like this my freshman year of hs [2017] no doctor could diagnose me with anything I lost about 20-25 pounds during this period of time witch was like 6 months until I could actually say I started to feel better anyway no doctor was able to diagnose me so I diagnosed myself with chs and it was really difficult to actually quit because it was the only thing that would make me feel better but to make any progress you have to completely quit cold turkey no other way around it.

I recently got diagnosed. It’s so bad. Mood swings, anxiety, nausea, and also hot flashes. It took me 4 times before they finally told me why I felt so bad. I was smoking every day all day. I havent smoked since I found out and I feel so much better after like 2 weeks. I still get Symptoms and they suck. I usually take nausea meds and sit in a hot bath until it goes away. The hot flashes are the WORST tho because after I have those I get nauseous.

However if you stay the course, the symptoms subside and that first meal you eat after quitting where you didn’t need any weed to stimulate the appetite and you actually feel hungry again and have an appetite again…..it’s so wonderful! I'm so glad I stumbled on this page. My boyfriend didn't believe me about CHS, everyone I know that vapes weed, edible's, all of it, they don't believe me. My boyfriend is getting sick all the time, gets thirsty all the time, he will be fine and then get so sleepy even when he slept along time. He is randomly getting depressed but says he doesn't know why, I keep trying to say it's the weed...doesn't believe me. My friends and boyfriend say weed is habit forming but not addicting...addiction is habit forming I think. If it wasn't addicting, he wouldn't be hitting up everybody he knows just to get it from a "dealer" cause the weed store wasn't open that day. I keep trying to warn him about it, it's like cigarettes and vaping of all kinds, it's a substance and I've watched it actually kill a young boy on youtube with no other drugs in his system. I felt so alone with the just say no to drugs, but glad I know that you have this to share your experiences with CHS.
