  • The Ford Ranger Raptor is the closest we can get to the F-150 Raptor. That car's baby brother is still a huge amount of fun, especially if you take it off-road like Henry Catchpole did for our latest film.

F-150 Raptor has a turbo V6 petrol. So I don't think Ford would put a similar engine in the Ranger Raptor. But, a turbo four with around 300bhp would be nice.

In the UK they also have hidden cameras all over the place even in the mountains to spy on you to see if you’re going to fast through the mountains. Take picture, ticket in the mail. Socialism sucks. Yeah its pretty mind blowing. Like yeah they are amazing rigs and finally actually feel luxurious inside, but when are talking almost 100k for a fucking pickup. It starts to feel pretty ridiculous

I'm very surprised at the price. In N.A. the Chevy Colorado ZR2 is available with a 2.8 Duramax but it's a $5000 option brining the total to almost $50k. Why are turbo diesels in Europe so close to petrol engine prices. The ZR2 is not quite as good as the Ranger Raptor off road but its close. What I really like about the Raptor are the rear coil springs and watts linkage. The F150 could use a similar setup since it can't keep the wheels on the ground in stutter bumps. The N.A. Ranger has a 2.3 Ecoboost which would be better (about 260HP and 305 ft-lbs) which would be adequate, but the 2.7 Ecoboost V6 would be ideal.

If Ford ever ends up bringing the Ranger Raptor into the states it will need to have the 2.7L like you mentioned. The other engine option that they would need is the 3.0L Power Stroke Diesel that's also available in the F-150.

I will explain what is going on here. European protectionism does not want American large engines on its roads. If that were to happen it would mean European manufacturers would get destroyed and they would have the only option of putting large engines in their cars to complete.
That would mean the big governments of Europe would lose control. You may think a 2.8 engine in a large truck is small European think that is massive because most drive in little 1 liter cars. Even large family cars in Europe will have 1.4 liter engines. And some will have three cylinders.
Americans do not understand this level of Market place oppression. I will give you an idea how strange things are a European car manufactured in Europe is cheaper when purchased in America.

2.3 turbo from the Focus RS would suit the Raptor well.

Deuteross The "new" North American Ranger only comes with the 2.3 Ecoboost. I kinda wish there was a V6 Ecoboost option :/

Great video guys, although I'm so disappointed in the engine they chose in that! It's hardly a comparison to the eco boost V6 in the real raptor.
Also for the cost is absurd considering how much a real raptor goes for in the US

Dang, for that much in the U.S. I could get a 3/4 or 1 ton and still have a little left over(it would be pretty bare bones but I don't care for leather or carpet)... Why so expensive, is it taxes?

Should have had 3 engine options. 1 the 2.0L TD, 2 the 3.2L TD and a 4.0L V6 or a V8. Then you could just specify which motor you wanted, great truck though

I bought my wife one in Grey this year.
    Have a real issue...
So the vehicle is hands down awesome but, on tar in wet weather, it has an issue... It loses traction.
I have reported this to Ford and it went in for a full week long inspection yielding no results.
I have personally tested it in wet weather and it slides around indeed.
It will be going back next week for more tests as my wife slid off the road and onto the grass with my kids in the vehicle.
My dealership has done multiple tests and all clear...sadly,i have reported this to Ford SA and they have not come back to me about it.
So we park the vehicle off at the moment if it rains as the above incident was the second time the vehicle has slid off the road.
    Very scary and disappointing.
Oh, I forgot to mention that on the meantime, the temporary fix from Ford was to drop the pressure to 2.2 bars all round which did improve the situation but ever so slightly, not enough to stop the traction loss in rain.
Example, if you take off slightly quickly on a wet road, it slides, if you corner a bit quicker or make a sudden adjustment, it slides...
I personally drive a different brand and I have no issues at significantly higher speeds at takeoff, around corners and I can comfortably make much bigger adjustments and corrections with no issues.
