Don't be fucking stupid with money when it comes to food and you will be fine. You don't have to have a packed fridge constantly, as long as you're ONLY buying what you know you will eat in one week (not one month, one week) you will be fine. I see people all the time be really fucking stupid when it comes to buying groceries and they make it take much longer or cost much more than it needs to.

as a person who works at the grocery store (a fairly small one) I hate leasing people to find something because people walk slower than me, but I'm always satisfied when we find it
if they seem capable enough I just tell them aisle number and general area so it's less awkward

Cody's whole thing about the grocery store is the reason I happily have the Walmart and target apps. Quickly search for the scary new item, it says it clear which aisle it's in and they even have maps. And then they also have price checkers. It's so great I don't have to talk to anyone.

no cause i HATE having to look for things in supermarkets. it’s the most draining, unfrictionless activity. and my local changes their layout like every 2 weeks so every time i shop i’m guaranteed to be wandering the aisles for half an hour 😭

my wife hates shopping - she gets stressed out if we go into a store without a list, and if i start browsing before the list has been completed. i love shopping and browsing, but i also get overwhelmed when the grocery store is crowded/busy/i'm not in the mood to shop 🤷
Grocery shopping is something I love doing as an adult. I can buy whatever TF I want, it's one of those small joys I have. I also love cooking, so it's a little adventure everytime.
Nah I’m 100% on your side Cody, and my gf is the same way which is again really sweet but simply being in a store with each other just kinda makes me feel like we could be using that time to do actual activities together instead of menial tasks
