Mother GENKI ♀ (1986/6/24)
She is 14 years older than Momotaro and has a role to support the whole family mentally.
She has had a tumultuous and eventful life.
She has returned to her birthplace, Kyoto City Zoo.
She had never been blessed with a baby but after meeting Momotaro,
she had two sons.
She is a very maternal female gorilla.
GENKI's father is MAKK.
GENKI's mother is HIROMI.
First son GENTARO, male (2011/12/21)
He was separated from his mother Genki soon after he was born.
Genki's milk production was not very good.
He was raised by his keeper for his first10 months.
Because of this, he is very fond of humans.
His face is so expressive, and everyone enjoys watching him.
Second son KINTARO ♂ (2018/12/19)
He is just very strong-willed and independent.
He has big eyes and long eyebrows.
The way he plays a lot with his brother Gentaro makes everyone smile.
We can't wait to see what kind of gorilla he'll become!

I honestly think they're perfect for each other. Both have very traumatic childhoods and are socially awkward. Momo's no-nonsense personality is softened by Genki's presence.
Yes indeed! Both Momo and Genki are a perfect match. Both are shy, and modest in their personalities. Many give Momotaro a hard time saying "he is grumpy" but he has a history on how his personality came to be. Since Momotaro didn't learn many essential things from his father Biju who passed away before he was born Genki has taught Momotaro social skills, and how to live in a group setting. She balances him out just by her mere presence. Genki is the model wife, and excellent mother of the primate species.
Maybe Momotaro has noticed how much shinier and softer Genkis fur is now.😊

Yep hence why the zoo said they are trying to find a new home for him. By now out in the wild he would have left the family to go find a mate and avoid conflict with the father. They said they wanted to move him this year. Idk whats going on with it. He needs to get out of here and be with a female near his age.

Gentaro was sort of a slow bloomer maturing a bit late, mentally and physically but he's ready now to branch out on his own. I know he's sick of his father chasing, and scolding him. Just not enough for two 👑 kings in that miniscule enclosure.
It's quite nice to see Genki can still move around on the bars of the ceiling to gather food, even at her advanced age. She seems to be quite healthy, It's been a while since I watched videos here and was also surprised at how much Gentarō has grown and gotten more silver!!! They all look so well!
