What looks rough is gentle. He is very very gentle with his kid. That same hand has 13 times more strength than a humans and he could crush that child.

I just think about how Gorillas are so strong. And how much more gentle they have to be for these babies then we would. It makes me realize just how gentle they are being with their babies.
Gorillas are comparably the most gentle great apes for their size and are proactive in protecting what's theirs (unlike orangutans) with minimal homocidal tendencies (unlike chimps). my rank of great apes i'd rather be trapped with are 1- Gorillas 2-Bonobos 3-Orangutans never a chimp

It's crazy watching a gorilla and noticing mannerisms and movements that us humans do on a daily basis. The one specifically where the papa gorilla lifts his hand up and scratches his cheek with one finger is something that we do too.
To see such a powerful, majestic creature playing so gently with his baby just melts my heart! What a great dad D'Jeeco is, he's setting such a good example for his sons.
D'Jeeco is, perhaps, the most patient, calm, and easy-going silverback with his offspring I've seen. I know there are other silverbacks that play with their offspring but D'Jeeco seems in a category by himself! It's obvious that his sons love him and enjoy being with him. Yet, when he is a different mood, he rolls them gently away and goes about his routine. He is impressive with childcare!!

He has gradually become increasingly welcoming and tolerant of Jabali‘s high energy and needs for cuddling-so much so that he’s come to enjoy the play himself now for long stretches. And grown into the best, kindest, softest Pop in the gorilla world. I wish I was a little furry kid in D‘Jeeco‘s big fluffy arms!

I loved watching the little gorilla playing with his daddy, it looked like the gorilla dad was tickling the baby and made him laugh and then the more I saw the baby gorillas teeth showed me how much he really was enjoying himself and having fun with his daddy!! I do believe gorillas and other animal primates laugh just like humans do.
Look at the expression on dad’s lips! Like “comere you, I’m gonna tickle you!” He’s so patient and gentle with his kids. Ughh… my heart. This reminds me of the Lion King, when Simba kept saying to his father, “Dad! Dad! Dad! Dad! Dad!”
