I just switched to wireless after 16 years professionally tattooing with coils and PS/Clipcord set ups and it’s absolutely brilliant! FK Irons Flux is truly brilliant.
So Happy Ty has a channel now. I love the nerd talk. But that doesn't mean I don't expect more from Fireside. 😜

I like this magnetic inventions like maybe the direct drive bar can have a magnet on the tip or, they use magnets the center the direct drive cam to stay perfectly centered
I recently picked up a Solong wireless tattoo setup. Game changing. As long as u have quality cartridges and ink ur set. I found the battery pack is extremely reliable and usually lasts about 4-5 hours on a charge.

Which solong machine ? Black kit 1 ? With the battery pack ?
After about 4 years of using the Dragonfly i switched to the Scorpion (about 1 year ago), took me a few months to fully recover the speed lost from the previous machine because i was used to a 2.6mm stroke setting and the 2nd has a 4mm, also had to try lots of needle setups for the right amount of give, but once i got used to it ... damn... inkmachines doesn't mess around with their products. They also answer to emails or dms pretty fast, their manuals are really detailed and that helps a lot to get to know every inch of your machines
I agree, Christian is an amazing engineer. He is extremely hard working and dedicated to both his products and making them the best he possibly can.

Would love to know more about how you used a battery pack on the sidewinder!! I would love to try it out but not exactly sure where the best place to mount it would be. Underneath is my guess? With an rca conversion of course?
Nice system. I am looking at the Mast Pro with 2 batteries. Under $200. The new Xion looks nice too. I make my own coil machines and I like them. But $900 for these systems is a LOT of money and not knowing what the future will hold for Tattoo artists and the Virus. I don't think I can justify the expense.
It's about quality I guess .if you do quality work and customer pay $100 an hour and tattooing with a Chinese $100 machine doesn't justify it either.
So Ive been using Scorpions for about a year and a half now with battery packs and have been using addictiveinkgear.com carts the whole time and have never had any problems with fit. Smooth all the time. I'm also in line for the new battery packs.
Boost mode should be labeled normal. And the other mode should be called extended battery mode. Boost mode only allows the motor to draw as much power as it can. Which is what would happen with a normal decent power supply. And the other mode likely limits it to something around 1amp like those crappy Amazon battery.
Motors only draw as much as they need. You could hook up a 12v battery with 800 amps. And machine will still only pull out the amperage it needs roughly 1-2.5 amps depending on the machine.
Dying for a good pack for my wand liner. Going to have to look into the FK battery I guess..
Chad Harrington I agree with what you are saying. I do experience more power with boost on high with the battery pack than I do connected to a cable on both the tps 500 and a Musotoku power supply. Why? I don’t know. Maybe the battery provides cleaner power, maybe the length of the cable? Would be a great one for an electrical engineer to answer. FYI. I don’t think the wand 5.0 or packer will work good with any battery. Bishop said they just aren’t compatible besides the shader wand. The Neuma 4 actually lines better than the 5.0 and is 100% compatible with even the cheapest battery. His motor is excellent.
So Dan Kubin has some work to do, hahaha!
LOL, Dan makes fantastic machines. theres a lot of love in what he does and his machining is top notch. I have found lighter, better balanced alternatives with very little to no vibration that are working better for me and way more efficient time wise. If I didn't find them, believe me I'd still be DK all day! He has everyones respect. If you are interested in good cartridge liners, they are out there.

Coming from 25 years of using cords and pedals..how has the adjustment/transition been to having a machine that is running constantly? This has been the main concern that has kept me away from the wireless revolution up to this point. I love the idea of freedom of movement and a cleaner work area but the idea of having a machine that is constantly running or having to push a button to turn the machine off every time I dip or pause to look at references etc.. I just don't know if I could get used it. I also wonder what impact the constant running has on the motor life of these machines. I'm really interested in hearing everyone's thoughts about this.
