    I’ve watched all these videos in explained needle depth and they all explain but I love your video because you even show how what i’ve been trying to find! Not only how much is supposed to go into the skin and how much each one should stick out even marking it makes it visually understandable for beginners. Thanks for the help!!

    I'm new in tattoo industry and I've watched alot of videos about needle depth and still struggling with in.
    No one simplified it and explained it as you did.
    I always get blowouts or fade away completely and couldn't understand why and that's the reason I couldn't start tattooing after 4 months of practice and ended up with alot of bad tattoos on my skin.
    I've tried to put 2 millimeters or 3 millimeters in and focusing on this and that to much as every other tattoo artists say and what they did to explain it was similar to rocket science.
    But you and your red marker did the best and the simplest understandable explaining.
    Thank you dude i love your work.

      Don’t go to anyone that says this bro, all needle depth should be the same at least 2mm to get past epidermis layer of skin, some skins vary depending on age, hard to stretch skin, etc but overall all tattoos should be at the same depth just most pressure for bigger needles

    It looks like the smaller the needle grouping (like the 3 round liner) the less you push it into the skin ? It looks like its marked alot higher in red then the other liner, as if you put less into the skin. But that confused me because i thought all needle depths had to penetrate at the same 1.5-2mm to hold ink or am i wrong? Sorry just trying to figure this all out

  • @Ye5patil
    @Ye5patil 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Wonderful explanation...
    Please Make a vedio about the speed and voltage settings on coil machines....and how to avoid skin torns should I reduce voltage? That makes machine hard to penetration.

    • @henrywells5745
      @henrywells5745 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Voltage depends on the kind of machine you use. So it would be difficult for anyone to explain that. Use this equation stitch per second / maximum wattage. This is only for rotary machines

    One of the good tips i got here is Do not go to much into depth.. Just tip of needles are enough.. But ofc it all depends on which part of skin you work.. But could you confirm this if i do solid black coloring i should not go so deep? I ve seen may videos tattoo artist coloring with more then 2 mm even 2.5 to 3mm depth.. I think thats to much and the dmg will be insane on the skin ...

    The seven for the out lines the five for like clothes the lines a little pasted the out lines and for most of the stuff inside then out line the three for faces and the most detailed I started out using a three my lines are actually very strong for someone who never tattoos I just viewed at as drawing mixed with painting and a calligraphy pen it’s crazy you put all of those together that’s what if felt like to me why I say the calligraphy pen they pretty much work the same

    I have sort of a disagreement about the depth. It is usually 1mm - 1,3mm. So what you have marked is maybe doubled as a depth. It doesn't really matter what kind of a grouping you use, depth is the same.
    Videos are great and I like them alot! :)

    • @mamenamorales9704
      @mamenamorales9704 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      My mentors explained that the smaller grouping, especially the 3rl, when it penetrates the skin it has an almost expansive behavior. I noticed they go real light handed when they do a fine line tattoo as opposed to something with thicker and bolder lining. Think of the 3rl as a hollowtip bullet in terms of how the ink will get packed in.

    No matter the needle you must go in at least 2mm to get past the epidermis, yes some skins differ but imo that 3 looks like it won’t stay but for a year if your lucky at that depth sir. And no matter the needle the depth is the same just the pressure applied should vary

    The depth of dermis is the depth of the dermis there is no difference just because it's a thicker or wider needle as a general rule it's approx 2 mm or about the thickness of a nickel deep.. Now a larger needle needs a little more pressure to maintain that depth because of skin resistance to the bigger needle group. Also maintain a 45 degree angle..and get a good stretch to penetrate smoothly or you won't reach the proper depth. But different skin types or areas can be slightly different.. There are so many factors that need to work in unison to maintain the proper depth and not turn skin into burger.
