Definitely newer. Tab S8 is 11", pretty easy to carry, enough screen size for taking notes. I'm using it for university for 2 months and it covered all my expectations. Even my friends who didn't buy a laptop yet are now thinking to get this tablet instead. *Edit* Plus, it will get new updates for so long. *Edit* I would pay more for same tab, same size, but with Amoled screen.

I like that Tab S8. Even though it's more expensive than my base model iPad Mini 6 it's bigger, has more storage, and includes the pen. In other words, it really isn't more expensive. It would have been a viable option before I committed to the iPad.
The only reason why I won't but the magnificent iPad Mini 6, is because it doesn't have 120Hz.
I want to play games on a tablet, and don't want to spend 1000+ dollars. Tab S8 is really a good option although not the best. Android does have its flaws in gaming. Well, that compensates with the freedom of software and emulation.

This kind of video is awesome and wouldn've been helpful to me if I hadn't already bought the Galaxy book pro 360 for drawing (which is actually better choice for me anyway...)

GB Pro 360 sure looks good but it is only 1080p screen and 60 hz, which is unacceptable in 2022 at that price

My biggest gripe with laptops is that they get warm easily on your lap and uncomfortable for work on the go unless you can find some cafe or working space to work. So, I'm considering a tablet whenever I have to go abroad while still have to do some work.
This is tough decision, I’ve been using an iPad 6th gen for 4 years and I switched to an android phone about a year ago, and I loved it. So at first I was gonna upgrade to the tab s8 but with this video it’s pretty tough I like a bigger display but I feel like it would feel too big since I’ve been using a 9.7 inch screen

@@debiduttakanungo902 Hi it depends on the PWM frequency used. Ipads dont use PWM and are thus flicker free except the 12.9 pro model. If you like to read alot then stick to iPads.

For user experience, definitely S7+, if you want a small and good performance tablet, then go for S8, for the best choice, of course S8+
Don't care about Android updates, Android 13 on the Tab S7+ will be more feature rich than required. But non-OLED screen for me is unbearable. No OLED No Buy from me.

Tab S tablets are a better value than IPad. Just wish the apps were more optimized for Android. Paying $599 plus tax for 64 GB is high way robbery for IPad Air. Samsung gives you what you need in terms of storage and gives the darn pen upfront. Not that I use it though.

@@TechGearTalk I like to see the major differences on devices that I own, reason being is that they come out with new models all time. I mean a person could go broke trying to keep up. So when a new model comes out I want to know, are the differences big enough to warrant the upgrade. They release new models so close together, sometimes within a year of the previous model. Especially with tablets and smart phones, and I don't consider a year to be old at all. Unfortunately with technology though, it is.
Like with your comparison of these 2 tablets, the only difference I saw that concerned me, considering how I use my tablet, the S7+, the long term support and warranty was concerning. I want my devices to be supported as long as I own them. But again, with technology, things change and get updated so fast it's difficult to keep up.
I was looking to upgrade my s7 plus but it should get updates til the new s9 is out and I will trade it in then.
@@rogerclark724 The only reason I would even consider trading my S7+ is if a new Galaxy Tablet came out and was just way more advanced than what I had. I just feel like to justify the expense, that new tablet has to be packed with features my current device doesn't have.
I gotta be honest, I love the large screen, and the capabilities it has, to me anyway, are phenomenal.
Dont worry about the long term support as if the screen of super amoled will last only for 1 to 2 years

No, it has a lot of ram. Samsung is still releasing new tablets with 4gb of ram, these all have or 6gb of ram, maybe even 8gb depending on the storage model.

id rather choose the s7 plus really i love this tab cause the design and the size .. most of the time i use tab for application and movie so i preferred to get the bigger size screen for convient to watch it samsung lead when it comes to memory also start as 128gb n its good

Having the S7+5G, but wanting to buy the S8+, I enjoyed this video. For me, THE UPDATES is the second key reason. The first n foremost factor driving the urge is the WIFI 6e you get!
Buying a new tablet , isn't like getting a phone (imo). Tablets are complimentary or supplements to an on-line experience. The have to get" long in the tooth " or break. So, for the long haul, I need the speed, and the UPDATES !...UNFORTUNATELY, I bought the first 5G tablet (?). But, my bubble burst when the " 6e Wi-Fi & 5.2 Bluetooth" arrived.
All that being said, I really don't use it that much. And, I can't think when I would take it out away from my phone's hot spot range. Other than having a resale feature highlight, I feel I wasted money. Great screen! But as time ticks away, I think I have my first n last tablet for my needs. It really was a " pandemic panic purchase ." Still happy with it.
Can someone help me about choosing between s8 and s8+ , my main concern is eye straining , I'll be using it for mostly books reading , and since both have different type display , i was wondering which one will cause less eye strain

to be honest iPads have much better aspect ratios for reading...
OLED present on the Plus flickers only at 120-240Hz PWM and the normal S8 is almost flicker free at 63000. PWM is technique used to control the brightness. Check the reviews on *notebook check* for indepth display reviews.
so the normal S8 is better also ipads are flicker free except the 12.9 model, great for eyes.

Greetings from India. I m conflicted in the choice of tab s7+ and tab s8. My main purpose for buying a tablet is sketching/drawing and light work substitute for my work station when am travelling. In India, i am getting both at a similar price. I am not concerned about the processing power as both chipsets offer more than enough for my needs. So my choice comes down to either better and longer software support on the tab s8 or a bigger and better screen on he s7+. I haven't had the opportunity to test out the difference between the super amoled screen and the tft lcd display. Could you please suggest which one should i buy?
P.S., I love all ur videos and have been closely following them for making my purchase choices and am really happy with it.

I finally settled with the tab s7+. Its cheaper and doesn't has the extra processing power but it's still a very good processor and with the excellent screen that it comes with, its sufficient for an intermediate level artist and editor, especially when i also want to use it as a substitute for my much heavier gaming laptop while travelling

And one fine day I saw the offer 10k off and then got 7.9k for an Old Redmi Note 7 pro on exchange Effective price was 49k I guess any old phone is taken at a higher price on flipkart exclusively for this product! I've had my used tab S7 from Amazon for awhile now and I love it. It has its own SIM card, that why it's so invaluable to what I do. I work on the field, but I still day trade. I use my cellphone to execute my trades, but use the tablet to look at my charts before I enter a trade. The tablet and phone have independent internet connections. Everything has worked out flawlessly from the beginning. I would probably upgrade to a newer one later on, but all is well right now.

With all the controversy surrounding the iPad 10th, it would be such a good time for Samsung to release a tablet with a Snapdragon 870 (actually just a Tab S7 with 4 - 5 years of update ) around $400

For gaming newer is always better and you def need minimum 8GB for heavy game
Samsung s7+ has 6 gb ram and s8 has 8 gb ram. Does this affect the real life functionality of both devices. I am currently looking to buy and these are my two options. My usage would be taking notes and general entertainment and general multitasking usage.

Real life usage, no. Tablets like the s6 lite have like 4gb of ram and ppl love those things. 6gb is overkill for most, 8gb is cool but I believe if you're doing graphic intensive work at higher 4k resolutions, these tablets will struggle regardless, even with 16gb of ram lol
8gb of ram would help, but I think the newer chip in the s8 is what gives it most of its boost. Not the extra 2gbs of ram it has over the s7+.

I'm looking to get a tablet. At first i was looking to get s7 fe but because i was looking to use it for a while and the s7 will stop being supported after 2024 i think i will get s8 it just a bit more but i will have it for longer. This really helped me to get e better understanding of what is better for me.

@karkarych4421 I don't understand u, but I translated and hope I understood correctly. So, in my opinion, you should get the s8 with 256gb cause it is better in the long run. You can also get the s8 with 64 gb cause if you need more storage, u can get a micro sd card with 256gb for around 20 euros. At least it's 20 euror here. For me, it's more convenient to get an sd card cause if I have storage stuff on it, I will have it in the sd card as backup just in case the tablet deletes you stuff. Also, the s8 will get supported until I think 2027, so you can use it for at least 4 years, and if you don't break it, you can continue to use it for a long time.

@karkarych4421 If you are on a budget, the s8 is quite expensive, yes... you can also wait until black friday or Cyber Monday to buy the s8 since samsung does a lot of discounts on those days. If you don't need the tablet imidately, then you can save up money until then and buy it. Honestly, in the end, you should buy what is more convenient for you. So my suggestion is to wait and save up until black friday and buy the s8, then.

2:21 - dude its all 3.2 today, it depends only on the gen and x2, gen1 5Gb, gen 2 10Gb, gen2 x2 20Gb - so what is it now? Both tablets have gen1 - so 5Gb

I often see that tablet on good sale or good trade in programs. Just 2-3 weeks ago, i trade in junk outdated tablet for that tablet for $279 with free bud2. But it’s your tab, just enjoy it, you got it when you want/need it and it serves its purposes, that’s good enough

Have a tab s7+ and it's an awesome device. I personally feel that if portability is more important, tab s8 is better but for bigger screen, s7+ takes it.

Hello sir, i bought a tab s7 plus 8/256gb lte for 400 dollars 2 weeks ago. Is it worth it to sell it for the same price to buy a tab s8 wifi only for 650 dollars?
For 400 it’s a steel however if you want the faster performance then tab s8 would be better
S8 is twice as fast in browsing. This is noticeable especially in sites that are not optimized for mobile (including the desktop version of youtube)
My Tab S8 Ultra is only on Aug 1 security update. Has Samsung gone to quarterly updates on its tablets now? It is a bit disappointing as this device is 2022 release.
Both are great devices and personally the Tab S7+ is the better choice due to OLED and a larger display.

Just going to offer my guess: maybe Samsung is really busy trying to do that "android 12L for tablets while doing Android 12 & 13 for phones" . And if Geographic regions comes into play that may Complicate things a bit. Then , its back to snail speed update schedule.

Of course the S7+, would never change the amazing screen against the S8. I have it now since 1 year, but i stll love looking at the screen like day one.

S8 is better than S7 by a bit. I have both. S7 Plus is another type of device. I also have it and use it for different cases. If you want that size (12.4), just get the S8 Plus or wait for the price to drop. In general, get the newer model. Not older.

I have a 10.5 ipad pro, a very good tablet, but I rock samsung phones and I cannot decide whether to buy a new ipad pro m1 or m2, or samsung tab s8+.
The samsung is too expensive for an android tablet, as it has few apps!
Is basically a samsung phone enlarged, but I like how it works.
I have dex on my phone Note 10+ and it is rubbish. Maybe I need to configure it better but nothing works like u think it will.

S7+ ia a overpriced device, the same price of s7 when it's half performance. S8 is definite better. Moreover you have samsung dex full on s8. Size is just a matter of taste.

You are comparing Oled with TFT screens. I would never change the amazing screen from the S7+ against the S7 or S8
@@TheEko42 i always despiced the TFy, but S8 is not bad at all. Anyway s7+ is simply too big to me to bring around. In my country is not avalaible since two years ago, do not even a chance about and sincerely I prefer other options to the screen that I still value good when the price is the same
