DEX is the bomb while in a dorm room. If The tablet is the only thing you can afford, I recommend the Samsung Tablet.

Your 3 year+ review is so great. I have been using my Tab S8 for more than a year and I'm definitely satisfied with it. If anyone who wants to find the one for note taking and ebook reading, I highly recommend a Samsung tab S (not tab A).
7:04 it helps with multitasking , not just gaming. Besides ram has become cheaper & it's common to manufacture chiplets in minimum 16gig modules & that's why you get such a high ram amount & not because Samsung is generous or any other reason.

Excellent video. I use my Samsung Tab S7+ everyday. My only complaint has been when using Google Docs/Sheets. On a tablet, you will lose the main menu for Google Docs with no way to make it appear. This is because the app defaults to 'full screen' mode (even when using Dex). You can still use the app(s) from Google, but you lose some functionality as compared to running the apps on a more traditional desktop/notebook. This problem also occurs on the Ipad Air and, of course, any mobile cellular device. It isn't an Android problem or even a Samsung issue. It's a limitation in the Google app suite. Cheers!

Back to my favourite subject. Good review. Using WhatsApp videos on my tabs7 is brilliant. I also love Samsung notes..can you do a session on handwriting recognition to text?
What screen size tablet would you recommend for students in middle/high school (grades 7 to 12) - particularly for note taking? Also are there any Android apps that you think might be better than Samsung Notes for them for note taking for their studies? I use my S7+ for online teaching and it's excellent. It's the perfect size for me and I love the S-pen. I like Samsung Notes, but I'm interested to know if there are better options.
Thanks for sharing your experience! Honestly I like a tab with similar dimensions to an A4 page, makes the note taking experience more realistic. The tab s7+ is 12.4" which is close to an A4 size and not too large to not be portable. I feel the S9 ultra and ipad Pro can be quite large to carry around. End of the day comes down to personal preference!

Thanks for watching the video! I would say go for the Samsung tab S9 or S10 series and use samsung notes as your note taking application. Your choice of device really depends on your current ecosystem of devices, so for example if you already use android/samsung/Windows based devices a samsung tab would be ideal since you can sync your notes across samsung notes on your other devices. The S9/S10 series come with an s pen which is very much like writing on paper. And samsung notes also a has a feature which allows you to convert hand written notes to typed notes. I hope that helps:)
I think I'm gonna buy it used in 2024, I don't really need the "latest" features and I'm getting it for 300 in a good condition. Gonna use it for note taking and studying.

Hi, thanks for your comment! Both the S8 and S9FE are good tablets and sufficient for note taking. I'm personally a bit against the FE models so would recommend you invest in the full spec models if possible. The tab S8 is a good tablet, and I'd recommend you look into it.
Are you still able to access Samsung notes on your Windows? I can't access them on Windows 11 and so had to switch to OneNote which suckssssssss on Android
Unfortunately Samsung notes is no longer available on windows. I still use Samsung notes on my tab and phone but have switched to Notion for a lot of my note taking.
You can run Samsung Notes from Windows 11. Search for "iknothing galaxybook_mask_but_better" and it should appear first. I use the file samsungnotes-betterv2.

Yes, to be honest with you I've never had a device for more than a few years especially something for studying like this tab. I'm not sure how the lack of updates will affect the performance. I shall keep you updated and make future videos on this:)
Even without updates, my tab is running fine. But these new ai features and Apple's latest math calculation feature will also come in Samsung. So the mind gets tempted. 😂😂 Samsung has officially banned quarterly updates now. My tab has the last update of jan 2024.😢
ah so the thing with phone ram and a pc ram is the difference in size. phone and tabs might've similar gigs though the mere size makes everything slower or faster just like a gpu. RTX 4070 would perform very slower in a lappie than a pc. with that in mind yeah 16GB is justifies. even my phone with 12+6 feels choppy when overused with apps and floating windows and all. could it be software? perhaps. is it? surely not. what if people who play say COD mobile wanna a bigger device? wouldn't they need a tab and beefier ram?
Great point and yes you're right the RAM on the tab is different to our phones and PCs. There are certainly uses for it such as gaming as you mentioned. I think for me personally I wouldn't be investing in a tab for heavy duty tasks such as gaming or video editing since I have devices better suited!
I have apple ipad of 8 gen that i purchased on dec 2020. I am going to bigger screen ipad of size 12.9 inch. Which buy apple or samsung. PURPOSE: mainly note taking,

Yeah I think at this point in the year, updates will soon be gone on the S7 series. I'd recomend investing in one of the newer models if you can! Other than the updates factor, the tab is still fantastic and works like new, no complaints!😁

No. You'd be better off getting a used S8 or S8 plus because it'll keep getting updates until 2026.
