- Hello everybody and welcome back to another video from H.S.TV! In today’s video I’ll be telling you what i think is the BEST note taking tablet in 2024.
If you've been following the channel you'll know I bought Samsung's tab S7+ way back in 2020 when I started medical school, however does it stand a chance in 2024 or am I looking for an upgrade?

DEX is the bomb while in a dorm room. If The tablet is the only thing you can afford, I recommend the Samsung Tablet.
Phenomenal review, as a 3rd year law student, I've always been a macbook note taker, but this video might've changed my mind! Also bought the Samsung tab s7+ 5G today! :)

Back to my favourite subject. Good review. Using WhatsApp videos on my tabs7 is brilliant. I also love Samsung notes..can you do a session on handwriting recognition to text?

Your 3 year+ review is so great. I have been using my Tab S8 for more than a year and I'm definitely satisfied with it. If anyone who wants to find the one for note taking and ebook reading, I highly recommend a Samsung tab S (not tab A).

7:04 it helps with multitasking , not just gaming.
Besides ram has become cheaper & it's common to manufacture chiplets in minimum 16gig modules & that's why you get such a high ram amount & not because Samsung is generous or any other reason.
Yes indeed, I use the tablet for multitasking quite a bit:)
Excellent video. I use my Samsung Tab S7+ everyday. My only complaint has been when using Google Docs/Sheets. On a tablet, you will lose the main menu for Google Docs with no way to make it appear. This is because the app defaults to 'full screen' mode (even when using Dex). You can still use the app(s) from Google, but you lose some functionality as compared to running the apps on a more traditional desktop/notebook. This problem also occurs on the Ipad Air and, of course, any mobile cellular device. It isn't an Android problem or even a Samsung issue. It's a limitation in the Google app suite. Cheers!
Thanks for watching! I totally agree with you, there has to be better app optimisation especially if Samsung offers a desktop like experience with Dex. Hopefully in the future we can expect a hybrid version of the apps suited to the tab!

What screen size tablet would you recommend for students in middle/high school (grades 7 to 12) - particularly for note taking? Also are there any Android apps that you think might be better than Samsung Notes for them for note taking for their studies?
I use my S7+ for online teaching and it's excellent. It's the perfect size for me and I love the S-pen. I like Samsung Notes, but I'm interested to know if there are better options.

Honestly I like a tab with similar dimensions to an A4 page, makes the note taking experience more realistic. The tab s7+ is 12.4" which is close to an A4 size and not too large to not be portable. I feel the S9 ultra and ipad Pro can be quite large to carry around.
End of the day comes down to personal preference!
I think I'm gonna buy it used in 2024, I don't really need the "latest" features and I'm getting it for 300 in a good condition. Gonna use it for note taking and studying.

Do you still recommend and use your tab S7+? I’m leaning towards getting the 256 navy blue color on Amazon but it’s $900 brand new 😅 Should I get it new or used?
I would absolutely still recommend the tab s7+. Get it new if you can or if you think it's not worth it just buy the tab s8!

Yes, to be honest with you I've never had a device for more than a few years especially something for studying like this tab. I'm not sure how the lack of updates will affect the performance. I shall keep you updated and make future videos on this:)
Even without updates, my tab is running fine.
But these new ai features and Apple's latest math calculation feature will also come in Samsung.
So the mind gets tempted. 😂😂
Samsung has officially banned quarterly updates now. My tab has the last update of jan 2024.😢
im really indecisive between the tab s8 and s9fe, im just going to use it for studying and note taking, but their price difference is the actual blast in my opinion; about 630 dollars (converting from my country's currency) for the tab s8, on the other side, the s9fe for around 400 bucks... could you help me with a suggestion?
Hi, thanks for your comment! Both the S8 and S9FE are good tablets and sufficient for note taking. I'm personally a bit against the FE models so would recommend you invest in the full spec models if possible. The tab S8 is a good tablet, and I'd recommend you look into it.

Yes absolutely, I don't see anything wrong with it! The S8 and S9 series have verrry similar spec to the S7 series but they are just more expensive...

Are you still able to access Samsung notes on your Windows? I can't access them on Windows 11 and so had to switch to OneNote which suckssssssss on Android
Unfortunately Samsung notes is no longer available on windows. I still use Samsung notes on my tab and phone but have switched to Notion for a lot of my note taking.
You can run Samsung Notes from Windows 11. Search for "iknothing galaxybook_mask_but_better" and it should appear first. I use the file samsungnotes-betterv2.

As you have decent experience about it, I was thinking to buy s9 fe tab, should I go for it? or rather buy some old models like yours to save money?
Good question, unfortunately I can only answer based on my experience with the S7+. For me personally I wouldn't buy the S9 FE because it's not much of an upgrade to what I've got now. If you're buying a tab for the first time, the S9 FE is a nice option and you'll get a good few years of UI updates.
The S7+ was game changer series, a big upgrade from the S6 series so I've always been a big advocate for it.
Honestly up to you what you go for, it's nice to have the newer models but overall in usage you wouldn't notice much differnece at all between the s7 and s9.
