There is another way to…with the car on you can hold the physical power button and the next track button. This hard resets the SYNC screen without taking a fuse out…i found this out luckily.
This was a life saving video!! I have a 2015 ford explorer sport and it didn’t want to connect to my phone and play my music but the soft reset did it!! Thank you!!!
I am so grateful for this video! Totally saved me. My back up camera went on the blink all pixelated and not working. The soft reset did the trick! Make sure you do it with your car turned on. Mine was a 2016 Ford Explorer
So you saying it might be a fuse number 29 to get my Sync Radio to Reboot itself ? I thought if you take the negative head post off the battery could Reboot the sync system 🤔
Hi yes that is the option. Disconnecting the battery could do it as well. Unfortunately Fords have often problems with SYNC especially if you have Limited trim and Sony head display
@QuiteAlright So what mine is doing is when I unplug the battery then reconnect the battery the radio play for a short time then stop but the screen stays black and shuts off the radio after a minute or two. What could it be from there...?
You can try doing the reset and see if that fixes it. Also make sure your SYNC is updated. Here is video on how to do it: th-cam.com/video/Hd5bKdIto0I/w-d-xo.html
Hard to say what is going on. Start by checking the fuses. Then if all good pull it apart and inspect electrical connections behind the face plate. Test if power is coming to the fcim. Scan the module and see if there are and stored codes which would point to the problem. I know from experience that fcim (front control interface module) often fails on newer fords.
Hi, I believe it is up to the maps version. It is usually designated per continent (North America, Europe, etc.). You would probably need to upload new maps
Hi. Edge, Explorer and Taurus are very prone for fcim failing and causing sync problems. Next step would be to scan the vehicle as there is a separate module for radio / climate controls / sync and follow up on the codes. Battery dying could not be a result of sync problems, only if there is a parasitic battery draw from the radio unit. Battery woud have to be tested as well. Usual battery life is 5y
I still cant use my bluetooth. Any other ideas? It just keeps saying. Bluetooth off do you want to turn on. I say yes. Then it asks again...bluetooth off do you eant to turn on
Hmmm you will probably have to take it to the Ford Dealer as they can check for codes in the module and update the SYNC if needed. Unfortunately only Ford can do this with their scanner
If ford sync reset doesn't help you can actually update the software by yourself. Here is the link on video I made for sync 2: th-cam.com/video/Hd5bKdIto0I/w-d-xo.html If you have sync 3 I also recently made a video on the 2020 Ford Edge: th-cam.com/video/sp9IEKRPWZA/w-d-xo.html

hmmm never experienced something like that.Next step is to scan the module, there will be codes stored in for sure and then follow up on those
Thank You!
You're welcome!
My 2017 ford interceptor has no sync at all
Not sure why
Will this affect the GPS mapping that came with the system?
Hi, no it shouldn't
What if you touch is is off track? Like when I touch it it selects the icon an inch above what I select
You can try doing the reset and see if that fixes it.
Also make sure your SYNC is updated.
Here is video on how to do it:

Vlad, I have the same issue (it clicks to the left of where I touch). Did it fix the issue for you when you did the soft reset?
This caused my Sync 2 to crash. Now what?

How to change the navigation from US car to another region?

It’s cold af in your location!!!! -9 😱
Yeaa :)
Didn't work for my 2018 edge titanium. Been messing up for months.. now my car battery goes dead.

Any update? I’ve got something similar going on my 15’ ford edge

Believe it or not the sync fuse burns out for the bluetooth. Check it and replace it. That should work
How can I do it without taking the fuse out?
Disconnect battery
What did you pay for that vehicle at the auction?
It is an older video, at the time I believe it was around $8,000 - $9,000
