    I have the KONI’s with the stage 2 kit on an NB. Completely changed the car for the better. Handles sooo much better.

    Good video. Eric has forgotten more about suspensions than I will ever know. He was instrumental in getting the old FM2 Tokico package properly set up on my NA and making the new Koni package sing on my NC. Both work so much better than stock (even with Bilsteins on the NC) with much more precision steering, flat controlled cornering and Softer, yes softer ride quality. These packages are brilliantly designed and Eric is the Guy for getting them dialed in. Once you experience a really good suspension you find out what all the fuss is about, I love them both and would never go back.

    I have the fm springs, sway bars and konis on my nb. Best money I've spent in a while. Everything you need is in the kit. The same was true for their timing belt/water pump kit. The specialty tools are great too. Can't say enough good things about my experience with Flyin Miata so far.

      Did the ride comfort decline, improve or largely stay the same after the upgrade?

      I have my konis adjusted to a firmer setting than the kit suggested as a close to factory firmness. That said, on the highway no major difference. In the twisties, way better. Like surprise a motorcycle better. The flying miata springs remove much of the rake. The stance of the car looks much better.
      Fyi, I'm running a factory 16" wheel.

    Had the VMaxx on a previous NB. Nice package. Now I have another NB and am going the stage 2 Koni route with springs and anti-roll bars. Had the koni yellows on a GTI I owned years ago and loved them.

    Thanks for these videos -- they really make it easier to decide where to spend my money. I'm looking forward to the install video, since that will help me decide whether to tackle it on my own or spend a bit more for a shop to do the work.

    Aren't Konis height adjustable?

    • @TargaMiata
      @TargaMiata 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      NA: yes.
      NB: no.
      NC: no.
      ND: not at the time this was shot, but they are now.
      Note that their method of height adjustment will affect the amount of available suspension bump travel, so we usually recommend using the tallest setting as that’s what the springs will be designed for.

      @@TargaMiata doesn't the Koni lower the ND enough for the wheel fitment to look correct? About 1.5 inches?

    • @TargaMiata
      @TargaMiata 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jeffrbake I don't think it's anywhere near that much. I wouldn't expect the suspension to work very well if you just remove 1.5" of bump travel with no changes to spring rate. On the NA, it's about 3/4" at most.

    I have a question for you guys, FLYIN' MIATA KONI STAGE 2 SUSPENSION PACKAGE ND or Bilstein B14 (PSS) - Suspension Kit?
    I really like the Koni ones but I want to know the differences of this two.

    • @FlyinMiataVideo
      @FlyinMiataVideo  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It's hard to say, given that there's very little technical information available about the Bilsteins. We know the Flyin' Miata setup maintains full suspension travel and includes upgraded rear bumpstops, and has spring rates that are well matched to the ride height and the shocks.
      As for the Bilsteins - what are the spring rates? What's the shaft travel? How well is the valving matched to the springs? We know they're not adjustable for damping, and we know that the people selling them are not the people that developed them so nobody actually knows anything about them.
      On the surface of it, the Bilsteins offer adjustable ride height but not adjustable damping and the Konis are the other way around. But that's ignoring the details that actually make a suspension work properly, and those details cannot be evaluated for the Bilsteins due to a lack of information.
