Nice setup. Did you consider going 24v or 36v? What about solar charge capability? Will there be ventilation ports/fans? You also must insulate all exposed +12V connections to prevent accidental short circuits - very important.
Great set up mate. Well done 👍. One question about venting. What sort of vents have filters to keep dust out? I have a platinum camper and want to relocate the batteries into the front checker plate tool box but I’m worried about heat. I was thinking of using a computer fan for extraction and having a vent on the opposite side of the box but I need to keep dust out too. Cheers
There's tonnes of videos on how to set up the Victron shunt for your needs, best way is to set the capacity after you have done a discharge test. That way you know the ACTUAL capacity of the battery first up.
@@WEEKENDER4X4. Hey Matt. What was the reason going for Victron shunt over a renogy shunt? Purely because renogy shunt doesn't work with the renogy M1 screen? I was deterred using the renogy 2000w inverter because of being centre tapped ,not earth bonded. Some interesting views on TH-cam of the said inverters.
@@WEEKENDER4X4 all good haha. I meant like a ground to body or chassis on the car. So like the Victron distributor has a ground connection which I've seen people run a cable from that to the car chassis or body. Doesn't make sense to me as why it's needed.
@newylyf7481 grounding to the body isn't necessary if you have enough cable to run the whole way to the battery negative. If you're on a budget and don't have enough space for fat cables running through the interior to the battery, grounding to the body is fine. As long as your main earth coming off the battery to chassis/body is clean and appropriately sized.
Haha very good, I love my Kings lithium batteries 😊 PS curious on what they are going need to run in their overlanding system that need 600ah, aircons in the roof tops? 🤣
It's mainly to be a silent back up generator for their house aswell. They're in an area of qld that's prone to a lot of blackouts. They have tonnes of solar panels they can run on their system also if they need it.
That is a fantastic clip. Thank you we look forward to using this at home and off grid. PS Carter at the end is a legend.
He was going to attack me with that hammer 🤣
Great build and love the info you provided. 👍 top video.

@@jackthomson73 most caravan filter sets come with fans and filters
Thats awsome🎉
I thought you can only run 2 batteries in parallel said on there website
Hey mate I answered this question in a comment below 👍😊
@@WEEKENDER4X4 sorry just found it
People shit on kings but there battery’s are one good thing they make
Absolutely nothing wrong with them
@@WEEKENDER4X4 I’m starting a build on my patrol in the next couple months, putting in a 300ah kings lithium
@@conellisgreatadventure8864 I had one in my patrol just testing it out until I built a 300ah one that fits in smaller space. Upcoming video
Hey mate just wondering are your 200ah battery’s the same batch ? Currently have a 300ah want to get a second not sure if I can get the same batch
All same batch, this was for a freinds build
Where is that fuse block from? Where do you get your midi fues from.
Most of them are on ebay or you can get them from springers solar
If you dont mind me asking? Whats a set up like that worth ?
Varies on when the batteries are on sale or not.
Hey mate what are your Victron smart shunt settings for the kings 300ah?

Hey bro, do you have to earth a 12v system?
@@newylyf7481 if it's just 12v no. If it's 240v floating(mobile) no.
240v fixed it's always preferable to have the inverter earthed.
@@WEEKENDER4X4 cheers bro, I don't know why so many people earth their 12v system in the back of the 4WD.
@newylyf7481 you earth it directly to the battery. Or a good body ground in the car. Sorry I thought you meant ground as in ground in ground lol

won't they get to hot in a box like that heard lithium dont like the heat
The ventilation will be put in by Steve (the guy I built it for)
@WEEKENDER4X4 ah I see all I wanted to hear xD
For the price why not spend a little more and get double the warranty and a better brand like atm?
Sorry I'm not familiar with atm batteries?
