I already suffered from depression for 3 years, I turned to medicine and didn't get the best results. Medication and more medication and nothing seemed to work, until I found an antidepressant that treated me effectively in 6 months. Cipralex, was the medicine that treated me. More important than Medicine is finding inner strength and that is only possible if you have faith, hope and focus on self-esteem and you have every reason to raise your self-esteem, physically and mentally you are a person who does not go unnoticed and you are worthy of admiration and respect! Think about it, listen to your breathing and be grateful for the miracle of life every moment! Greetings from Lisbon! 👍

I left to travel the world at 19 and returned at 35, and today I am 39. We lived in an incredible world, a golden age for exploration and discovery, before the era of cell phones and such. Our time has passed, and we are still searching, but tourism, vlogs, and TH-cam have changed this journey. That's why Anthony Bourdain was saddened to see that everything had turned into Airbnb wherever he went

@katjaxxx7353 Today, TH-camrs are like websites such as Xvideos. It's like the desire to be somewhere else. To imagine, but after a while, it's like a porn site, and you close the page and come back to reality. Very strange. Sometimes I think about going and being that guy who once traveled. A video on TH-cam can satisfy the urge, because you forget who you are. Just accept it. This is unacceptable.

Actually depression is not merely sadness. Depression is not a passing, temporary sadness. It is much deeper and lasts for weeks, month or even years.

Hi Gabi, those who have/or do suffer with anxiety & depression will understand exactly what you're saying & what you experience.
For those who haven't, will find it very difficult to understand as it takes being there, to understand.
What I will say to those that haven't, you're extremely fortunate. Sufferingin mid-extreme with anxiety, depression or both is very debilitating indeed.
It's not something that one can just snap out of (like many think) but it's an illness that requires time & understanding.
They may have zero or very little motivation, no desires, no nothing.
Please, if anyone thinks someone they know maybe suffering in this way, reach out to them, be there for them, support them in any way you can...but please be patient with them, they in most cases will not see the positives in the world that you see & know. Again this is part of the illness.
They'll in most cases only see negatives, again it's the illness. They require time & support, without judgement from others.
Go careful with them & you'll play a huge part in turning their life around in getting them back to see things positively again.
All the very best to all.

    Hello Gabi!
I’m 33 & suffer from mental health mainly Anxiety. I’m working on new techniques & finding the root cause of it. But mainly I lean on my faith in Christ. I have learned that it is a battlefield for the devil to use against us. Remember it is our mind & we can rebuke the thoughts & feelings. We can overcome this feeling. I’m praying for all those who suffer as well. And we are never alone on this journey. 🌿 your content is fantastic! This is something not all cannot do, your content has helped me with my struggles. God Bless you Gabi ❤
Ps: Your videos are very rewarding! They help educate & use them some days for my homeschool kids & also to educate myself as well as sharing with others. Such an amazing platform you have created!

Hi Gabi, I have been experiencing severe depression for most of this year. 2 weeks ago I began running for half an hour in the morning and eating anti inflammatory diet and now I feel 1000x better. Not saying this will work for everyone but worth a try, especially if your symptoms are due to high cortisol. Appreciate you may not want unsolicited advice, but in case it helps its worth a share.
Enjoy Gokarna - I spent a month staying on Om beach in 2015. Very special place. Take care!

Hey man, life tends to become hard when life seems purposeless, and as you said, the best and easiest way to fight depression is keeping yourself busy. Take depression lightly because life is full of ups and downs and its just a part of life. I also do have suffered from severe social anxiety and have suffered from addictions and the best you can do to fight is just to stop consuming social media to win against depression and social anxiety and to live life raw. Also, addictions makes people more prone to depression, so it's utmost important to preventing addictions. The best way to preventing addiction is just throwing away the thing you are addicted to (anyhow) and then to maintain 30 days of total abstinence and also practicing meditation so as to have greater self-control and greater emotion control and emotional understanding of one's own self. Take care. Love from India ❤❤

Even travelling can cause a "burnout", it is always followed by depression and anxiety..... Great to see you travelling again Gabi, your words about mental health resonated with me strongly especially as I'm heading to Goa in a few weeks and yes, India is a big anti-depressant for the reasons you mention. I was in Gokarna in January 1990 when there were maybe a dozen westerners there in total, it has a strong energy which wasn't always wholesome. The local Shiva temple priests invited me for a chillum session and of course some paranoia crept in as the guys had an energy I could feel wasn't good. Mercifully I kept it together until we ran out of smoking material. I got back to my rented room, bolted the door, then the evening's 'fun' hit me and the room turned helicopter until I finally fell asleep from exhaustion. The next morning it was super sunny, a cow had fallen from the raised path right under my window and happy joyful crazy India returned! Your points about connecting with ease with Indians is so important, I just had a thought that it might be good for you to stay longer in India just in one place instead of constantly moving. Maybe you might find a 10 day Vipassana retreat useful too and maybe some chill downtime doing something creative. I'm hoping to do a bit of voluntary work at an animal shelter in or around Arambol, some gym time and also get my body up to speed with yoga that I've neglected a bit. The yoga and my past meditation practice have helped somewhat at least by keeping me away from medication which for me is the devil's work so to speak. I saw in a recent video of yours that the Trance dance place had closed which is a shame, dancing is such a good way to ground yourself. Parties in Goa are not what they used to be but maybe you can still find some that are not the traditional night journeys until sunrise but some cool substance free daytime stuff. Do you have any artistic inclinations? Have you ever painted anything? Done drawings? You'd be surprised what sits deep within us in creative energy.. There are several Art supplies shops in Panjim and probably some workshops in Goa too. Anyway, hope I gave you some good ideas. Btw, that walk you took in Gokarna to the viewpoint was where I met my first cobra in India, sliding down a small tree that I was passing! (The next cobra was in Palolem at the end of the beach, I just found two photos of it the other day!) Careful where you step

Hi Gabi. Here am I again "travelling" with you. I love it. ❤ In relation to depression and anxiety I do undesrtand what you are talking about. I have been there. I went through many things in my life when I was teenager I lost my parents (5 years apart to each other). Both had health issues. Stroke and cancer respctivelly and my siblings and I were their caregivers. Then my fiancé just decided to vanish by the time I need him the most. At that time there was lack of money also, even for food. That time I lost hope in everything. I even wonder where was God? Who allowed all those things to happen to me. Life was meaningless to me. But as you said in your statement at the end of the video (which reasonates very much to my personal experience) we did found our way out. I managed to finish my studies at University. I have been working for an Airline Company for many years. Now I am on my early 50th I can say I made my way Thank to God who gave me the strenghts to continue this journey called life. In His strong hands I placed my life everyday choosing to depend on Him to light and guide my way. Back at the time I did therapy / councilling with psychologist and psychiatrist, I was under medicine for depression for many years. Then when I came across with Meditation (transcendental meditation, Vipassana and Raya yoga Meditation) my life starts to change for better. I view life from differents perspectives / angles /lenses you undesrtand? I just can tell you one thing - "MediTation became my mediCation". I stoped taking medicines for depression many years ago. Now I am a very cheerfull person who is in love of her life every minute of it. I make the most of my life. Eventhough I neither have children nor husband. I love my life and freedom. There is a book entitled "Mindfulness" I recommend you to read. It is used in the UK by the National Health Service to help people with mental health. It is useful I ensure you. Your videos entertain me. They are also very informative and suggestive since I also love travelling. I am very passionated of going around the world get in touch with new people with different cultures, gastronomy etc.....for me "To travel is to live" . Since you are there in Goa. do visit Zeebop By The Sea Restaurant in Utorda beach at South Goa. There you can eat delicious sea food. I did spend a day there with my friends, we had lunch there in November 2015. That time the owner was Mr. Sergio Dias I don't know if he is still there. Do check on youtube or google it, you will find information about the place. So, I will stop here. I am glad to know you are doing well to overcome your mental health issues. You are a smart, young and handsome guy. So, don't allow anything to deter you from enjoying this wondefull journey called life. Sorry to text you this big "letter". I just went on writting and realized I wrote to much. 😅Anyway, stay safe and take care. We are here to support you. ❤

Dr. Tonmoy Sharma has been a game-changer in the mental health scene, especially with his techniques for tackling depression and anxiety. His approach isn't just about diagnosing or giving meds; it's about really digging deep and understanding each individual's unique struggles. I've heard stories from patients whose lives have done a complete 180 after working with him. His advocacy for mental health awareness is spot-on, creating a ripple effect that's making it more acceptable for folks to open up about their struggles. Plus, his work extends beyond the clinical realm, shedding light on mental health even in places like Gokarna, where people might feel isolated. That's the kind of impact we need more of in this world!

And learning to not judge yourself creates room to not judge others which completely releases social anxiety, though practicing this may take years before you can truly say you are free to be yourself. As you stop judging yourself, you can also forgive yourself every day for things you think you may have done that need forgiveness. In this way you can also see that the guilt we hold inside as a human being holds us back from being open and nonjudgmental. So examine your personal guilt and forgive yourself and others. This is the way to understanding all human beings as essentially the same. Thank you, Gabi, for your honesty and desire to help others as you help yourself to live a full and satisfying life. 🙏

    Hi Gabby,
Sorry to hear you have been going through difficult times. I share similar problems. I have been able to manage, and then overcome them by the introduction of the use of psychedelics which for me, has been groundbreaking. Of course I did a ton of research and lots of heavy contemplation before indulging, but I have to say, it is one of the most important things I have ever done, and that has been transformative in improving how I was feeling. I understand it's not for everyone, nor am I selling/condoning this, but the use of natural plant medicine psychedelics, namely DMT & Psilocybin are now being widely researched and studied by Dr's at top universities for treatment of some of the conditions you have described. I'm not sure what your views are about such things, but there is definitely a light at the end of the tunnel, and very impressive results to address these conditions. Thank you for being brave in sharing your lived experiences, and I wish you well as always brother! 🙏🏿

Hey, I'm Nancy from the States. I started watching ur vlogs recently n I surely agree to the point that India is truly a country where it's easy to socialize. Even I went under anxiety and depression because of children in school bullying me. So my parents took me to a psychologist n she suggested that it would be better for me to travel for some time to get out of my anxiety and depression so my parents planned a visit to some Asian Countries. I 1st went to South Korea, then Thailand, but I didn't recover at all. I still used to lock myself in the hotel room. Then, after seeing some vlogs on youtube, my parents decided to take me to India n believe me, that was the best decision of my life. I went to India with no hopes n then while checking out from the airport, I met a guard who gave me a chocolate. Seeing her distributing the chocolates to all the children in the airport brought a slight smile on my face after months. Then we went to many Hindu temples n, believe me, the vibe there is so different from churches and mosques. Feeding the cows, sitting near the pond, seeing many idols of different God's, their Prasadams, also in some temple its mandatory to was ur legs before entering n they hv a separate space for that. All these things made me feel so good that I didn't even realize when I started to forget all my problems, but my parents did notice some changes. Then we went to many beaches and tried many street foods n damn.....there is smtg special in Indian street foods which you will never witness somewhere else. I never thought that vegetarian food could be this good. This was the 1st time I didn't eat non veg for 2 weeks, lol. Kids here r so polite that they even allowed me to play with them, n never they never made me feel lonely. Then I went to Indian Ocea. There was a huge place where people used to medidate saying ommmmmmmmmmmmmmmm in one long breath. Even I tried it, n it made me feel so good n it felt like it removed all the negativity from me. I fully recovered so my parents were planning to take my bak to The States. I never wanted this trip to end. I told them that is it possible that I stay here 4ever as I didnot want to go back the the same school. After discussing it for some days my parents decide that I'll stay in India with my grandparents n ngl my grandparents now say that it's good they shifted here, lol. They love India's street food n they made many friends of their age also me. I currently live in Mumbai, n I'm studying in 9th grade n till date no one has ever bullied me. Love India 🇮🇳 from the bottom of my heart. Sorry for spelling mistakes

Thank you Gabi for bravely sharing your trials, sharing is part of seeing and healing. Having been through a similar trials after a lot of searching and often painful introspection, and some gifted insights from some who's life's passion and purpose to understand their conflicts, overcome them and help others to do likewise, I was able to see and understand what kept me stuck into that rut, and it was not nearly as serious as my fears and anxiety kept me from seeing. It's been about 20 years on now, and I've spent much of that time doing and sharing what I can to help other find hope and insights, and what you relate Gabi resonates deeply with my experience, and if some of what I discovered might be of interest to you or others, I would be happy to chat.
Keep searching, looking and hoping my friend, you have many friends and reasons to search, hope and overcome.

I used to suffer from anxiety panic attacks and depression. I was shooting everyday and people used to wonder how is it possible. But it’s something anyone can go though. And also being on social media quite a lot can get so much pressure to perform and stay consistent. I have just got out of it after 2 years of suffering. I wish all the best for you and sending you so much of love and healing energy ❤

I do excercise EVERY day. When you are in a deep depression. and don’t want to go out of bed, get out of bed and walk one time around in your flat.
    Next day do 2 rounds.
    Next day three.
    Praise yourself.
Also allow yourself to have bad days.
    It’s normal.
Be kind to yourself, eat healthy (salmon, fish) And sleep enough.

Well said, I agree... though as we know, depression sufferers will know how hard (almost impossible) it can be to get out of bed. It can be like having a huge insurmountable wall right in front of you at times. Nothing to get you out of bed & yet everything to keep you in bed.
It's the total lack of interest in life, it's a horrible feeling, but it does go...small steps at a time & being patient with yourself.
      Take care

Hi Gab.. think about it in this way … your mood is affected 80% by actions by external stimulus (getting involved on something that makes you feel good) 20% by thoughts … thoughts won’t fix thoughts … actions and routine can fix thoughts and get you out of bed. Sometimes we think thoughts are so powerful but as you also say actions are way more powerful. Once you discover what makes you feel happy. Don’t think too much just make that part of your routine. Your mind is limited in healing you … your actions are much more powerful healers. Be respectful and be kind to others.

    Hello my friend,
I spent 2 weeks in Gokarna 10 years ago.
I walked up to that viewpoint and sat there for 1-2 hours every day on my own.
You have been blessed to travel to wonderful places, and meet local people who live simple life's.
Count your blessings your not working in a factory back home with little or no choice.
Content yourself that your videos are enjoyed by so many people.
Your depression and anxiety...hmm, live in the now, don't visit the past, or concern yourself about the future.
Don't let negative thoughts bring you down, most of our thoughts are just endless chatter we can choose to ignore.
Try avoid stress whenever possible, that helps me big time.
We can all see your a great guy with a kind heart.
What ever troubles you let it go, you deserve to be happy.
I've lived in Thailand the last 10 years, but spent around 2 years on and off, travelling to many of the places you have visited in India. I love so many things about India.
    I'm from Scotland.
Ps. I have rapid cycle cyclothymia, but live a wonderful life.

Hi Gabi , our purpose in life is to serve others, feed people, love everyone. To know our own divinity and to see this same divinity in all beings. This is where freedom is. Spend time everyday in nature , connect with the natural world , that is truth. Social media is not truth 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 try to stay in the present moment, don’t spend too much time thinking of the future. It is always only the present moment. These are the things I’ve learned over the years and it has helped me so much . I wish you so much love and happiness in life. Enjoy your journey…. Ok, after watching your entire video, I have a few things more things to add. You are absolutely right about social media, esp reels, either on tiktok or Instagram or TH-cam. The short video format has been successfully linked with anxiety too! It brings on adhd and anxiety coz your mind is taking so much information without processing it well and you are literally brain washing yourself and it triggers so many emotions in you in a short time more than you can process and later you feel anxious for no reason, with short form you are also training your mind to not focus on things for more than a few seconds, it is so detrimental to your mental health people do not have any idea of! I have noticed it with myself too, when I mindlessly scroll through reels, it spikes dopamine for as long as you are watching it but then it crashes making you feel bad /anxious later. Plenty of ignorant people saying dumb stuff in each reel and triggering certain emotions in you! Ofcourse not all content is bad but a lot of it is just junk. When I disconnect I do feel a huge difference! An year ago I started feeling anxious and moved to Goa and it took me some time to realised why I was stressed and was not able to cope with it because half the stress was coming from the reels I was watching which were triggering me and bringing on ADHD So I was not able to center myself to properly deal with it. We work so hard to remove junk from our minds, and then we are taking in more through social media and the thing is you don't have to react to all the things that you encounter in life but it happens so unconsciously on social media while it is not even you life! If we can remove this unnecessary content then we will be more present mentally, if you notice, the things that trigger you on social media are just there, it is not around you in your real life!

I’ve had similar struggles most of my life. Sharing these feelings is not always easy for fear of putting on others, especially when it’s a long low phase. Most of my friends couldn’t cope! Though I spend hours listening to them sometimes. Watching your video made me smile, feeding the cows, playing marbles with kids and the lovely scenery. Placing a rose quartz on your heart chakra when lying down is one of many small things we can embrace to keep balancing and healing our subtle energies.
Look after yourself. Your resilience is helping you and also others 🤗❤️🤗

A wonderful video where you not only speak about yourself but about nearly all the human race. Believe me the figures are far less than what really is. Who just Who is not depressed..anxious.. sad.. unsure uncertain.. fearing what may come next.. and lonely even amidst a huge society. All this is quite normal But each and every day I see that We must continue our path in the most healthiest possible manner if only to make our food and to pray.. ..Life must continue to the final goal. Let us be strong thankful vibrant with whatever the moment brings and that is it. C est la vie...

Hi Gabi! Glad to know you are finding yourself again. Right now I'm in India as well! I'm in the mountains of Rishikesh. Staying at various ashrams and retreat center (come someday to Ananda Lok Across the Ganga).
Watching your vlog and reading so many comments, getting to know people from around the world in this trip, it kind of saddens me 🥺 to know that so many people suffer from depression and anxiety. As of now, I don't suffer from mental health problems, but I'm a retired teacher and I have dealt with many, many people in my life. I have seen the first seeds of mental health problems in children, and later on how it affects their adult lives.
Talking to foreign people here in India, they tell the one thing that made them feel alive again in this beautiful country: the simplicity of life. And that makes them find their path again. Thanks for your Vlog and your honesty.

I came across your video today and subscribed to your channel. I didn’t know the meaning of life. I was spiritually bankrupt. My life changed after 2020, I stoped watching social media except for TH-cam. I started reading the Bible and getting to know Jesus Christ and how he was tempted by the devil after he fasted for 40 days and triumphed. I realized we are not from this world. This world is ruled by satan. We need to carry our cross and enter from narrow gate. I started to listen to saints stories/ diary like st faustina and Padre pio and the struggles they went through and gain perspective and wisdom from them. Just being grateful for all the blessings. I’m doing much better by God’s grace. I wish you all the best❤️🙏

Hey Gabi! Just found your channel today and have watched a few videos, and i had to comment because im so impressed by your Genuine and Empathetic nature. They are certainly traits few people posess today. You nailed so many key points as you spoke of modern 'Mans's Search for Meaning' - a great book by the Swiss psychologists CG Jung, by the way....
Precisely because of your struggles, combined with a sypathetic soul, its glaring obvious to me that, while you may have social anxiety (and who doesnt have Some, unless youre a psychopath) you simultaneously have the native ability to connect deeply and instinctually to those who are open to such things...as your kind and open heart shine through in a genuine way. Many are Already living in a Virtual world - and because of that, mental health will continue to suffer. I hear in your voice a natural healer and councilor, and your struggles are educating you so you may help others in some small way., because youre really rather insightful. You would have made a wonderful priest many lifetimes ago as well ; )
Dont forget to read a physical copy of a book that both challenges you and sets your imagination ablaze!
Looking forward to what you do next -
    Grazie Paisano
    Molte Benedizioni

I was very close to Gokarna in March this year. I will visit it next time.
    Great video...
From my life experience, bad, processed, even cooked food is 90% cause of depression. If you go fasting for 8 days, like water fast.. you will love every single small thing you do in a day.
Ad to this some fruit, vegan diet... 90 % live foods... some rice and vegie soup.. then you are FEELING GREAT.
stay away from animal foods.. this is pain and suffering.
Lift some weights every day... You got to exercise man.. and then again you are feeling GREAT.
No alcohol , no smoking, no fap-ing...
This is the key to depression free life stile, in my opinion.
Some will argue with me... But yet, we are not all the same...
I love your channel. I have subscribed !
