@jakedonnely4094 some of our more recent videos have me finding a bronze age gold ring with my vanquish 340 and it was pretty deep around 8 inch or so :-)

That one was a while back, We were super happy how the Vanquish 340 worked on the beach and the wet sands! I love my vanquish :-)

Hey thanks for watching matey, yeah I might do a more in depth video soon, only problem is with the 340 is that there is only 4sensitvity settings and then 3 modes and volume thats all there is to it. Very basic but really good also
Hello from Georgia! You guys are really great, and watching these videos has just about convinced me to get two of these---one for me, and one for my Dad. Would you agree this is a good purchase for someone just literally getting into the hobby? We plan on using them primarily on our own (family) farm; a few weeks ago, rain washed out a piece of a horse drawn plow-tooth that my great-great grandfather used (in what is now my front yard), so it sparked my interest. I want to find more family artifacts! Again, great job on the videos. Love the back and forth chat! God bless and stay healthy out there, friends!
Hey, thank you for the awesoem comment! it means a lot to us. My honest opinion is that the Vanquish 340 is one of the best metal detectors for the money! The one and only down side is that its not waterproof but you can buy a rain cover for the control box and then its fine. it uses the same technology as the more expensive machines like the equinox and works 100% perfect on land or sand.. you and your Dad will love it, plus metal detecing is one of the best hobbys around. @@TheMetalDetectingChannel Thanks again! For better or worse, we don't get as much rain (especially the seemingly random kind) as you guys do, so I'm not too fussed about the waterproofing. To be honest with you, I'm just wondering now if I need one of those carrot pinpointers...and I also will need one heck of a shovel, since our soil is VERY rocky. Anyway, thanks again, still going through your videos since I just found you today!
@@ericcarr1612 I'm glad you found us matey, i use the Garrett pin pointer as it makes it easy to find them little targets. You might want to research them as the price range for pinpointers are like $20 right up to $300. You don't have to have one but it will make you life easier:-)

We was just running on the coin mode and adjusted the sensitivity levels:-)

I own a vanquish 440 and a simplex whp. I am still undecided which one to keep. I do the odd group dig inland and the odd beach dig. The vanquish seems really good but I can't quite get the same accuracy when digging holes as you guys. The simplex is spot on but the tones are staggered. Which are you preferring
Hey Martin, I've yet to go out ant play with the simplex but I here its great on land and not so good on wet sand. I love my little vanquish on the beach ⛱ I keep it as a back up to my nox.. hope to het out in a day or two and get some footage of the simplex:-) ill keep you updated.

Your friend there digs his spade in very deep digging a deep hole straight away, thus the small bead may not have been in the bottom of the hole. I suggest he digs the signal with small amounts to start with thus when found it would give you a better idea of the true depth.

Thanks David, yes this video was a while back now haha 😄 the thing we use to detect with once we have dug the hole is called a pin pointer, helps us locate the find easier :-)

Iam havin trouble deciding what to buy.Would the 340 be easy for beginner on beaches and is speaker built in ,is it still multichannell like the 440 and 540?Great video,love the excitement,it's just a wonderful excuse to enjoy the outdoors
340 will work perfect on beach as well as land pal, yes it has a speaker just does not had pinpoint on it but that's not the end of the world :-)

@@TheMetalDetectingChannel always good to communicate with my British cousins. I run Garrett ace 250 with 15 inch nels coil. I am fortunate to be at an outing with Garrett reps. In hinckley California at gold claim testing their Garrett axiom detector.

Any idea why my minelab vanquish 340 is constantly beeping on the beach on number 9 nothing else... its perfect on the mountains, soon as im on the beach it just constantly beeps... any advice would be appreciated thank you!
Hey Thomas that's a strange one mate, I've never heard of it doing anything like that before. Maybe have a word with the shop that you bought it from and see what they suggest

On one of our videos we find a bronze age gold ring and it came in at a 18 if I remember correctly, have a look and see us dig it -)

Once on the Goodwood Estate, Halnaker Chichester Area, along the coast with various Clubs and in 2016 on the Bournemouth Beach/Boscombe while visiting my sister. A large group of us Canucks meet many of you in 2002. Had a wonderful time. Finding neat old stuff. We are based in Ottawa Canada. Love to come back but no $ to travel anymore. Poor Senior now. Just gave a friend for his BD on Canada Day the Go Find 66 but he thinks it's "a cheap machine" Should have got the Vanquish but too late now.
Which one would you recommend for beach Whitelab's Treasure Master or this Vanquish?

Beach boys haha how long does the batteries last in it ??
It takes 4AA battery's but have no idea ive used it for about 15hours on land and beach with the free minelab battery's that came with it :-)
With only 4 levels of sensitivity do you find you have to adjust that at all on the beach?
The be honest I had it one notch from full and it worked a treat, I guess the think I like about the simplicity of the 340 is that the sensitivity button is just there for you to hit to raise or lower. Thanks for watching matey its appreciated
Hello, is there a big difference between the 340, 440 and 540? Also, noticed there is no ground balance option, does it self ground balance? A reply would be most appreciated as I want to purchase a Vanquish but don't know which one to go for. I have an AT Pro but it's not good on wet sand. Many thanks guys.
Hello Bill, the 340 is as basic as they come, there is sensitivity adjustment and that's about it, 3 modes to choose from, as you go up through the range you get better features like pinpoint etc, I'd always buy the best you can afford. If you was just getting into metal detecting or just want a great back up for say beach detecting and didn't want to spend so much then the 340 is the one

Switch on and go pal. They work really well. When you turn it on it does a noise cancel automatically then your good to go

I have the 340 and the thing I miss most that it does not have is pinpoint. Even an X-TERRA 305 has pinpoint.

We flicked between them all and I would say you are pretty safe on the beach with them all but I didnt like all metal as it was a pretty trashy beach we tested it on :-) great machine in my opinion 😀

Yes although I've never found any yet but if you check back a few videos you will see us finding gold coins :-)

all depends on your budget, the better them more they cost but the basic Vanquish 340 is a great machine and workes super on the beach, but if you have the cash buy the equinox 600 or 800 and you will never need to upgrade :-) If you are in the UK give Spin a disc in Halifax a call 01422245401 and say The Metal Detecting channel sent you and they will sort you out :-)
