Excellent, simple, straight forward, just the facts video. I have the 340 also and your test results are very similar to mine. Even in the moderate to highly mineralized soil where I detect, the 340 is quiet with no ground balance/ground noise issues and gets the same depth and responses as your video on dimes and quarters. It smacks nickels past 6" and can really detect the small stuff like tiny earrings and even earring backs.......some stuff my handheld pinpointer will barely hit. I wish the 340 had a pinpoint mode but for $199 it is an incredible detector for a beginner, loaner, grab and go, or just for a bit a fun with for an old hand like me. Jeff

I too have recently purchased this machine. Does well in my test garden as well. Can’t beat the price at all. The lack of pinpoint doesn’t bother me at all. I started out with and still have and use my “beginner” machines that don’t have pinpoint. Great video btw! Keep them coming.

Love the vanquished.......at my local parks ...... digging 7 inch deep Coins with solid ID and screaming audio........some of my pass detectors costing over $1000 could not do this.....look beyond the red plastic
@@iliyanmarkov2744 In simple air tests my Vanquish 340 can hit an American nickel at 13 inches and other coins at 11 to 12 inches. It`s also very sensitive to small pieces of high conductivity metals. My 340 will detect a brass screw from a pair of sunglasses at 3 to 4 inches.

I have both the Vanquish 440 and the Simplex+ now and the Vanquish is for me a much better machine on the beach. We bought the SImplex+ for my wife but she doesn't like it at all. She has now taken over the Vanquish and I have gone back to my Nox 600. Will wait for stocks to pick up here in the UK and then probably get another one.
@@camprandy I would say you made the right decision. The Multi-IQ on the Nox is much better..in my opinion, than any single frequency detector out there and I have tried a lot of them. Also having charging issues with this Simplex+ now and it is only a few days old :(
Nice simple and light works well for the price,I was on the beach a man approached me I showed him and gave him a necklace, little loop I was chasing .vanquish 340 also told him too get a Garrett pinpointer.
Really think for the money it is a good detector, if you are on a budget , or live close to the beaches , or just starting and want to begin this hobby with a capable machine i would for sure get one . Depth is nice but euro,s , golden rings , piece of can slaw , and pulltabs are almost never deeper then 5 or 6 inches at max... This one is capable to achieve this depth .. It would be completely needless to say that if yiu hunt for deep relics or deep okd coins one must buy this tool. Its a great allrounder with serious performance on the wet salt sand ..good for modern coin shooting and it will pick up a golden ring at average depth,s For the money minelab made this detector a lot of bang for the buck.

Why do some rusty nails ring up high 30s? I'm having a hard time understanding the ID numbers.. I know 17 through about 30 are coins mostly but I can't figure out the rest.. is their any literature on this or does anyone have any tips.. I have the vanquish 340 thanks
Change direction on the signal I also wiggle the coil back and the tip of the coil will also help with ID.I never dig nails as a good signal, only iffy ones that I hope is gonna be a coin lol.

Just wondering if I even need my Nox. I only ever use the preset beach modes. So is the Vanquish available in the USA yet? I keep hearing people say they have one. Here in the UK it should have been available this week but now been told it will be some time in Feb.
At that price point, to not have pinpoint or notch discrimination is absurd. The 540 seems like the only option worth the price. I can't see giving up multiple features just to have Multi IQ. Other machines in this price range offer pinpoint, notch discrim, iron volume, waterproof housing, simple up down keys for volume and sensitivity, ground balance options, wireless headphones, and some come in cheaper than this and from different manufacturers. Only time I could see this being the best option at that price would be for beach hunting on the cheap. It's Polo btw...
I hear what you are saying for a guy like me who started metal detecting and never using a pinpoint button and runs in all metal this is the perfect option, wish it had GB, and water proof but if it did would be an equinox for half the price. but its still multi IQ with better coil options then an equinox thanks for watching and your input

It might not be a toy but sure is a piece of crap. They don't include the proper cord to do any software updates. If you do happen to find the right cord ( I haven't yet ) good luck trying to get at the input on the unit. It's impossible to get at. I am returning this if the seller accepts that I am not happy with it.
I am trying to talk myself out of buying the 540 I mean I would like to have one, I have watched Iffy Signals show the performance and it's good, I like the tones, it does come with wired headphones, it has a back lit screen, not waterproof, I don't think it is updatable, not sure if the coil cover comes with it, in wet weather you have to have a condom over the display which makes the screen hard to view, man I am on the fence on this one, I may buy one later today if I can't talk myself out of one.
Hi, get the 540 pro pack if u do get one. It comes with coil cover, wireless headphones, screen cover and has a red backlit screen and, 2 coils. It is a good machine for the money but definitely has an issue, I've had and tested 3 different models and all 3 shut off if you bump because the batteries aren't held firmly in place. I'm sure that can be fixed by a piece of foam on the battery cover
@@sscindercoop I just went with the 540 non pro, as I have minelab wireless headphones that should work, got it from bill southerland out of Az he had one, seems they are not in stock in most places. I am still a little butt sore with minelab as my explorer xs housing shaft pin broke the plastic when changing out a different coil and that was only the third time I had it apart, so i hope they have up graded the plastic material so it can handle some fatigue. one day I will figure out a jury rig for that, I did like the explorer xs and found a bunch of stuff nearly twenty years ago with it.
I`ll likely get both. These things detect silver dimes at nine inches. That`s crazy good. No Bounty Hunter I`ve had can go that deep in the ground on a dime. Gonna try the 340 first to confirm though. I have had three Bounty Hunters and found a lot of gold with my first one. One day I found three very heavy 14k rings in under 35 minutes. I`m getting a Vanquish for three reasons...crazy low price, deep silver, and I can use it at a saltwater beach. I used to hunt clad but those days are over unless I find an unhunted place. I found an old baseball field once that was covered in coins and I was finding about 70 quarters per hour. Places like that are over and gone.
I hear that multi-freq is better around EMI than single freq. And i do a lot of in town residential type hunting. So if that is true i will be very happy. A lot of times i have to take my Eurotek Pro down to 5,,which gets about 6'' still. That kind of suck when you know those goodies are around 8''s plus.
For the beach I would go with the Vanquish. Inland i'm not so sure but I mainly search the beach and I know from having owned the Racer and Impact and then switching to the Equinox that Multi-iQ will outperform most single frequency machines on the wet sand.

@@camprandy nox600 is Multi IQ 5-10-15-20, while vanquish and nox800 are 5-10-15-20-40
The Simplex is really nice for hunting silver. The Vanquish and Simplex make a great, inexpensive but high value team.

I was getting a solid 40 earlier today, showing it was deep. Dug and dug never got too it. I wonder what it could be

And yes I've used many other detectors. My first Bounty Hunter was 10x better, do not get the 340, at least get the 440.

Depends on the size of the nugget and how deep it is
