- This week me and Rick went back to some of our first machines! we tool the Nokta Simplex+ and the Minelab Vanquish 340 out on a small field to see how they both do. We thought this might be a great comparason for people thinking about getting it to the metal detecting hobby. These are both amazing machines for the money! the nokta is built to last forever and the vanquish has the poewer of multi IQ. Some cracking find this week and some of the same old junk! it really was a pleasure to get back out and metal detect with these 2 machines. Enjoy all

I've had the Simplex and the vanquish 440 both brilliant machines for the price and very capable. I found my first hammered this week, silver Edward IV half penny, around 1468, what a buzz :)

@@elchavito19 In my honest opinion if you're not bothered about the detector being waterproof then I would go for the Vanquish, if you do then the simplex or even the new Minelab Xterra pro.

Just found my first gold ring today, a scruffy 16 on the Nox 800 which usually means rubbish but not this time, it looks ancient but who knows, the buzz is absolutely brilliant, makes a change from bottle caps, Uncle Ed, Bootons and buckles, love your videos, and Ive even started saying to myself " Zooming in"

Well done guys and nice to see you promoting the budget detectors which as you say, work very well. Comes down to the land at the end of the day and these will find at a respectable depth from what I've seen. To the next 😉
There both great machines mate love them, prefer the tones on the vanquish but that's probably due to me using a Equinox as my main machine 😀
Almost every detecting channel got the 540 pro pack so there are almost no videos or tips for the 340. The 340 is the best value in detecting ever made because it works anywhere. Finally us regular poor folks can hunt on beaches. Plus the Simplex can make you a fortune if you can find old freshwater swimming holes. It`s also a deep silver machine in field mode.
Absolutely right Del mate, the depth of both of these machines is superb for the cost of them and they are both very capable. Simex has the edge on the build quality and being waterproof and the vanquish has the edge on stability and multi frequency tech in my opinion. But as we said definately a place for both in the market 😃💪

I love the vanquish 340 I think it's such a good machine. The simplex is built like a tank and worked very well also. Both very capable machines for the money 💰 thank you, I know right been a while since I had anything nice hahaha

I have several machines including a Simplex. I call mine screaming Meemie. Have had some great finds with it but it can get on your nerves quick! Great vid guys, love the finds and the humor!

Appreciate your replies, ty! You guys are living my detecting dream. Don't get me wrong, we find some pretty cool stuff here in Maritime Canada but absolutely nothing I have ever found here compares to the history in the ground where you are!

I always thought the sensitivity setting was used to set the threshold based on mineralisation. Cranking it up is dumb. You set sensitivity so that you can barely hear the threshold while using the machine.
Maybe I'm wrong, but that's the way it used to be.
I normally set the sensitivity to the ground so if it's not very mineralised I can crank it right up. I tend to never use threshold as I prefer not to have that tone :-)

I love the 340 mate lovely machine, it does not have the features the simplex have but the multifreq it does have makes up for the lacks of :-)

I just returned the pancky brand which is like a high end Amazon brand. I’m going to spend a little extra and buy the 340, or the simplex. I go to beach and parks, but I don’t go in water. Will the vanquish out perform the pancky? Lol

Ok great! This is going to be my first machine. (Not counting the one I returned) Unfortunately no lol, I live in USA. Reason I bought pancky was because of all the accessories they offer with it lol! But when I go on TH-cam, I see top TH-camrs like yourselves using mine lab! So I’m gonna sacrifice the accessories lol!
Btw - Took the pancky in the beach for 5 hrs, that thing beeped about 25 times and I never found anything. So I’d rather have one that actually beeps when something is there. Otherwise I could be missing out abs wasting time. I’ll gladly give extra $ for a few acccesories. Pin pointer, Digging tools, etc. Thx guys. HAPPY HUNTING!!!
Oh, one last question? Sry. Is the 440 that much better then the 340? It’s $90 more.

great vids lads , is the simplex+ better than the Vanquish ?
In my opinion the simplex has way better build quality but is a single frequency machine we're as the Vanquish is a multi frequency machine but don't have the build quality. So I'd say Vanquish is better for beach etc :-) loads of people I know use the simplex but for me minelab wins :-). You thinking about buying one?
