What a power house of an animal John Henry Bohnam was. I don't know another like him. To be able to bring the band back into such a manic set. It's all going off. Just pure class at every stage.
It is mesmerizing to watch. Over fifty years later. Imagining these genius men had no idea just what a monumental impact they would have. Especially knowing all that was ahead.
My absolute favorite band since I was 5 years old! Grew up playing drums like my all time favorite Mr. John Henry Bonham: NO ONE had feel like that! As my drum teacher told me :"You don't play the drums, you "feel" the beat and lay it down": Something Mr. Bonham understood!
I never get tired of this musical craftsmanship performed by the “Best Band “ ever! Watch Bonham crash those drums and cymbals like a controlled “madman” Excess kills any rock n roller!!! But the music in the late 60s, 70s, and early 80s ( stretching that a bit) the best . Nothing cannot ever will replace that era of RnR
I always argue with people when they say Niel Peart is best drummer ever. Which I can make a case for cuz he was unbeleivable , BUT MY argument was Peart had 50 pc drum kit and Bonham had a 5 pc w/4 cymbals and made it sound so badass.
God damn.... that Riff is just a power house and has so much swag to it. I love playing it , Thanks Jimmy and the life changing zeppelin for taking us on your journey .
Agree regarding the riff. A friend used to invite us round after football and he would always play this of Zeppelin 2 at a volume not far removed from their live volume. Can't listen to this without thinking back to those days.
You'd want to pick the right night - but I mainly agree with you. You know, I've heard some sound checks where sober, the band sound fantastic. A note perfect version of Night Flight for instance, and some spot-on Elvis. Then you hear the resulting concert, the same day, after they various 'refreshements' the band took, and they sound poor. I'm convinced their bad shows were 95% due to intoxication, LOL. Here in the early days they were tremendous and the '72 tour was great - there are many other highlights.
I love watching the changes they went through live from 68 to 80, the evolution is amazing to watch. So glad it's all on film for posterity, we're all the better for its existence. Viva La Zeppelin!
Robert A tardy reply I tend to agree. From a blues band to what we heard on Houses of The Holy. Grafitti, Prescence and In Through the Out Door. This band really developed, and never did the Juke Box bit. Always awake and growing. Was lucky enough to see them twice. and the No Quarter tour. Off to see Plant in Wexford (my Home County) on Nov 2nd 2022!! lucky to be alive to hear this magic
WOW! T his was just ordinary hard working guys, with an burning interest in music! And what did they do? They laid the whole world at their feet! It only took one song, and everyones soul , body and mind was theirs! That is an achivement! Today, there is so much techno-gear so it´s not really music anymore. THANK YOU LED ZEPPELIN!
The widespread consensus is that Bonham is the greatest rock drummer ever. 40+ years since his and after watching this, amazingly, it’s still hard to debate that notion
@@glenchapman3899 yes. I thought Bonham was great, but at that time and still, it was Ginger Baker for me! His jazz background and African rhythm influence made him the superior drummer for me. for example th-cam.com/video/1EKaflXTzHw/w-d-xo.html
Maybe the best live recording I've heard of them, performance and sound quality are top notch. That machine gun riff they do around 4 minutes in is pretty wild and JPJ's bass is even sweeter harmonically than the studio recording.

This is Led Zeppelin at their very best live, before being wore down from touring, drink and drugs. The stage energy from all four is outstanding, especially that of Jones and Bonham. Films of them in concert later on don't have the same vibe. I'll watch this over The Song Remains the Same anyday.
Can you imagine the commitment and endurance to play those four hour shows. Not to mention traveling and parties for months on end. No wonder he loved the farm and family life when he got home. The likes of it will never be seen again. LZ
Yeah, despite the incredibly powerful drumming of Bonzo and Pages molten guitar and riffing, it’s still Plants voice that fills the hall and dominates everything! His vocals actually stand out above it all!
I just saw Robert Plant in concert 8/9/24. His voice was awesome. Still hits the high notes but doesn't sustain them as long as he did. Most sings in an octave lower now, but still pure. And still a great showman. Lots of body language, beautiful gestures with his hands, can still see his younger self merged with his older presence.
John Bonham the greatest drummer of all time, in the best of times. When he died, so did the entire band. Saw them as a young boy in concert at the Long Beach Arena right on the coast. Beautiful day, excellent concert. For all those who missed those days, they all have no clue of what times those once were and never will be again.
That is what you call playing for people and the music. This is raw rock and roll blood sweat and tears. The drums the guitar the bass and the harmonica. All instruments from the stone age and the 4 of them made it happen.
"In the days of my youth I was shown what its like to be a fan of Led Zeppelin", in my eyes , ears and heart the most explosive band to ever rock the stages of every music hall, concert hall and stadium as well as outdoor venues if not the best Rock and Roll band to entertain those of us who are true fans of Led Zeppelin from the first day they were a hit around the world. I wouldn't want to describe this bands talents any other way but with one word , "Incredible" ! When I first heard their music was way back in 1975 , the song was of course none other "Stairway to Heaven". I was only 6 going on 7 years old. I was captured by a song that had deep meaning lyrics with amazing instrumental by four unbelievably talented musicians that this world has ever come to know and love . A incredible band of four men with almost completely different styles of play that not only blended so well together on stage, yet it was a collection of songs and music that exploded in such a way that it, well....what made Led Zeppelin one of the most listened to and followed band in the history of Rock. In 1976 I pleaded with my parents that I had to see this band in concert yet of course was way too young to go it alone without a parent present. My dream was a reality and I was so fortunate to attend a Led Zeppelin concert at the age of 8. Now talk about a lifetime experience I will never ever forget, it was an honor for myself today to have been able to see my number most favorite band ever, thanks to a nagging and pestering kid and to parents who took the time to allow me to carry a memory in my heart forever. Thanks to every single person who was in the band on that stage behind the stage and all the people it takes to have these guys Rock the heck out of all those fortunate ones to be in the presence of such genius musicians. To you the members of the band, to a drummer that took the world by the drum and beat the music into our hearts, May he R.I.P Mr. John Bonham , Mr. Jimmy Page, guitar extraordinaire of the out of this world kind, the bass foundation of the band, Mr. John Paul Jones, and who will always be a vocalist with such an amazing range in his voice that shall echo forever in my mind, heart, and soul, Mr. Robert Plant. Had it not been for me staying up late one night listening to my small hand held am/fm radio, with that huge hit play on the radio, I may never had been a big, big fan of Led Zeppelin and of music in general all my life to the present day. Led Zeppelin I owe so much gratitude for and my appreciation for all you musicians do to get on that stage so we have a peace of our own world to escape reality for a brief time doesnt just end at the door on the way out of the concerts we see. Amazing, mind blowing, talented, heart felt, never ending music not only drives our moods and way of life at times it lets be free of our misery, our not so wonderful times, and delivers us into somewhere out there that lets us escape our feelings of negativity, and we land both feet on the ground positively charged to keep "Rambling On". Thank you for doing what you love to do, Rock On !!
Agreed. Zeppelin at this time had minimal light and sound basic pa and amplification, no Pyro no lasers no explosions fire etc etc and their show still blew people's minds. Talent power and musicianship and a good-looking viking Thor God singing didn't harm matters! Awesome band that can sadly never be repeated in any way.
This is without a doubt the best live performance in Rock N Roll history the purest raw talent you will ever see. Still can't believe Jimmy Page wanted Chris Cornell to be the next front man to zeppelin he would of been amazing

@@endokrin7897 After the Reunion Concert for Ahmet Ertegun in 2007 at the O2 Arena, Led Zeppelin was offered to have a worldwide tour. A huge offer, in fact. Everybody said yes, with the exception of Robert. He didn't want to repeat himself again and had other projects, so he said no. Afterwards Jimmy, JPJ and Jason started to invite singers for some auditions and it has been reported that Chris Cornell, Steven Tyler and Myles Kennedy, to name a few, were invited to sing with them. When I learn his licks Im still so impressed by his taste and how he takes a riff, develops it, and turns it into a complete masterpiece.
his sound was stacked amps dialed up to 11, thats why its so muddy
Led Zeppelin is the GREATEST ROCK BAND OF ALL TIME....BAR NONE!
BULLSHIT. The Beatles are the greatest rock band of all time.
Zeppelin the very best by far no one ever be as good in every kind of music.
@@laurahinton6211 Your grammer and sentence structure are terrible. "No one ever be as good in every kind of music"?

JAMMING OUT. unparalleled in so many ways. what was the chance that these people found each other and started this awesome band?? more evidence of miracles.
I can’t count how many times I’ve played this video since it’s been put up. I used to watch it before zeppelin had there own channel and it was uploaded by someone else. Such an amazing live performance and jimmys guitar playing in this song gets me everytime, that solo is so satisfying to listen to.
Arguably one of the greatest live rock performances and recordings in modern music history.
@@Pointlesshandle48 for sure I would put it right up there with top 5 maybe even top 3.
You know it is from their 2003, "music home video", on d.v.d. entitled, "D.V.D", right?
@@alexkx8599 yeah I do but I was ent watching it on dvd I watched it and discovered it on the early days of TH-cam when this was uploaded illegally that’s my whole point
What a power house of an animal John Henry Bohnam was. I don't know another like him. To be able to bring the band back into such a manic set. It's all going off. Just pure class at every stage.
This is better than the studio version. It sounds like a runaway train about to derail.
It is mesmerizing to watch. Over fifty years later. Imagining these genius men had no idea just what a monumental impact they would have. Especially knowing all that was ahead.
When it comes to the greatest rock and roll band in the history of the world how can anyone debate that has Led Zeppelin
The greatest rock band ever!
You got that right!☮️
favorite band too
And it’s not even close
No doubt
Absolutely the most iconic rock band ever....... ever!
The Mighty Led Zep can't be beat!!
Unbelievable. Still unbelievable. The only music from teenage years I still listen.
Lol me too
If I play Zep, I just can't listen to any other group all day
This is easily the #1 best of rock and roll song ever played.
I never get tired of this musical craftsmanship performed by the “Best Band “ ever! Watch Bonham crash those drums and cymbals like a controlled “madman”
Excess kills any rock n roller!!! But the music in the late 60s, 70s, and early 80s ( stretching that a bit) the best . Nothing cannot ever will replace that era of RnR
No we know why Bonham was the Best
I always argue with people when they say Niel Peart is best drummer ever. Which I can make a case for cuz he was unbeleivable , BUT MY argument was Peart had 50 pc drum kit and Bonham had a 5 pc w/4 cymbals and made it sound so badass.
Bonzo using telephone poles for drumsticks.
@@danielives379 At least get the guy's name right. It's Neil Peart.
@@stevends3865 He beat those drums like the groupies he had sex with
God damn.... that Riff is just a power house and has so much swag to it.
They need to give thanks to the blue z
Yeh too bad page didnt write it
I loved every minute, now that was power rock and roll. The best.
If I had a chance to go back in time for a concert it would be L. Z. hands down!!! What an influence these guys had on rock and roll. Pure genius!!
Saw them live one time , unforgettable
You'd want to pick the right night - but I mainly agree with you.
You know, I've heard some sound checks where sober, the band sound fantastic. A note perfect version of Night Flight for instance, and some spot-on Elvis. Then you hear the resulting concert, the same day, after they various 'refreshements' the band took, and they sound poor. I'm convinced their bad shows were 95% due to intoxication, LOL.
Here in the early days they were tremendous and the '72 tour was great - there are many other highlights.
Best rhythm section of any band ever.
Nobody:
Cameraman: ''Let me just over zoom to Robert Plant's face...'''
Lol
Pros of having a beautiful face 🙏
I love watching the changes they went through live from 68 to 80, the evolution is amazing to watch. So glad it's all on film for posterity, we're all the better for its existence. Viva La Zeppelin!
Robert
A tardy reply
I tend to agree.

Love the Stones and WHO but musically Zeppelin beats all.
Amen,no one as great as Zeppelin
The widespread consensus is that Bonham is the greatest rock drummer ever. 40+ years since his and after watching this, amazingly, it’s still hard to debate that notion
The thing is in this period we were blessed with about 4 incredible drummers who would all be worthy of the title.
@@glenchapman3899 yes. I thought Bonham was great, but at that time and still, it was Ginger Baker for me! His jazz background and African rhythm influence made him the superior drummer for me. for example th-cam.com/video/1EKaflXTzHw/w-d-xo.html
The GREATEST Rock Band of all time since early 1900's thus far! Who else is as dynamic? Goodness gracious! 👏🙌
Maybe the best live recording I've heard of them, performance and sound quality are top notch. That machine gun riff they do around 4 minutes in is pretty wild and JPJ's bass is even sweeter harmonically than the studio recording.
I like how when jimmy page goes into the main riff the crowd immediately switches to the right tempo
"Artist's" today just have no stage presence, where as these guys are always smiling and moving around and actually feeling the music.
i was born in 1990. and. i never saw this group. but i could tell you, through heavy research and every video these guys ever recorded, why they were the best rock band to ever grace a stage. thank you for living, and creating music Robert, Jimmy, John, and John. thank you.
Music is timeless.. I was born 82,and love this band so much.. My favorite. Gives me energy, inspiration. It just rocks 🤘. Greetings from Germany to you. Keep on rocking, stay well💪🎶✌️🏵️🍀🍺🌈🌟🎧☮️☯️🆗
Bravo Nick Patterson, bravo ragazzo, questa band è un diamante che brillerà per sempre nel panorama musicale di tutti i tempi 🤩.da una nonna🧓
well, I'm 14 but this is still my favorite band
That was awesome dude

Best hair in the business
Best body too!
Best Band. Led Zeppelin!!!!
They were so in sync with each other....
The interaction and improv going on between all the musicians is incredible 👏
This is Led Zeppelin at their very best live, before being wore down from touring, drink and drugs. The stage energy from all four is outstanding, especially that of Jones and Bonham. Films of them in concert later on don't have the same vibe. I'll watch this over The Song Remains the Same anyday.
Good old days when we could stand right up against the front of the stage and really feel like a part of the event 😍
the second bonzo hits his drums the first time, the whole things just gets elevated to another fucking realm.
Can you imagine the commitment and endurance to play those four hour shows. Not to mention traveling and parties for months on end. No wonder he loved the farm and family life when he got home. The likes of it will never be seen again. LZ
Most badass guitar sound in rock
The voice on Plant was just incredible
ROBERT tea bagged the rest
I believe still IS? 👌
Yeah, despite the incredibly powerful drumming of Bonzo and Pages molten guitar and riffing, it’s still Plants voice that fills the hall and dominates everything! His vocals actually stand out above it all!
а волосы ?😂❤
I just saw Robert Plant in concert 8/9/24. His voice was awesome. Still hits the high notes but doesn't sustain them as long as he did. Most sings in an octave lower now, but still pure. And still a great showman. Lots of body language, beautiful gestures with his hands, can still see his younger self merged with his older presence.
WOW,NOBODY NEVER DID IT,NOBODY NEVER,DO NOT HAVE ENOUGH WORDS!!!😮😮❤❤❤❤❤😊
Robert Plant's harmonica in this song inspired me to learn to play the harmonica. Tks Robert 👍
The call and response between Jimmy and Bonzo! Pure magic! We will never again see anyone like them.
what a teamwork betwean guitar and drummer, amazing, all of them. Pure artistic symbiosis
This rocks so much. Good for the ears, good for the heart n soul.
And for eyes too..
@@lorawarashkevich9892 Yes ma'am.

So good almost makes me cry.
That is what you call playing for people and the music. This is raw rock and roll blood sweat and tears. The drums the guitar the bass and the harmonica. All instruments from the stone age and the 4 of them made it happen.
Zweifelsohne einer der grössten Rock-GÖTTER aller Zeiten,!!! Einfach nur Geil!!!!
Well said.
You were truly blessed! 🙏
Wow, so viel Text, aber ich stimme dir absolut zu!!!
LED ZEPPELIN
FÜR DIE EWIGKEIT!!!!!
This doesn’t compare to any live performance in the current century, truly remarkable all around.
Totally agree
Best rock n roll band ever!
This is without a doubt the best live performance in Rock N Roll history the purest raw talent you will ever see. Still can't believe Jimmy Page wanted Chris Cornell to be the next front man to zeppelin he would of been amazing
WTH? I've NEVER heard that. Are you kidding me?🤔😲
Jimmy Page wanted Chris Cornell to join Led Zeppelin? When was this? Before Audioslave??
I've never even dreamed of that combination; let alone thought it might have happened..... 😳🤘
Any combination would have been great, specially Chris or Steven, but it would not have been Led Zeppelin without Plant.
no way. Bonzo is out time, JPJ is out of mood, RP is uncertain, only Jimmi is pretty good.
Nobody did what Jimmy did, except for Hendrix. But the catalog is unmatched
Hands down one of the greatest bands of all time. #1 For me.
