Absolutely loved your recipe for crab cakes. They were simple, few fillers and I watched the video twice to get the details. Absolutely loved it. The dipping sauce was to die for. Keep them coming Marie. Thank you so much.
Hi! So glad to hear this! Thanks for taking time to leave a note! Big hugs, Marie
Awesome video, love her voice and instructions. No unnecessary music and talking. Thanks
Hi Barbara! Thanks for watching and for the nice note 😊 I’m so glad to be connected. Hugs, Marie
Hello Marie, I had a big desired to eat crab cakes so I researched all over the internet for the best ones, there was a lot of different recepes, and I have to say, yours is the winner, I will cook your method, you are clear, and concise, not with all the gab like with the other videos , (they talk too much) yours is easy to follow. Thank You very much, and I subscribed. Ciao !!❤
Hi! This is so wonderful to hear! I’m excited for you to try them and can’t wait to hear how the turn out 😊 I also have a video for salmon cakes … a close second to the crab cakes, if you like salmon!
Thanks for the kind words about my presentation, too. I really appreciate the feedback because I’m always looking to improve 👍🏻 Stay tuned for more new recipes soon, Marie
What a pleasant, high-quality video! No competing music. No whooshes or shoops between scenes. Excellent camera work. None of those irksome high-production techniques that render today's videos and TV shows virtually unwatchable. This team can teach cooking PLUS how to create pleasing videos!!!
10 stars!

P.S. Is the crabmeat in the frozen section?
The crab cakes look wonderful in all three ways. Thanks for sharing 😊
Thanks for talking “down to earth” and not over my head! Simple and easy to follow! These look yummy!
You are so welcome! Thanks for watching 🥰 My goal is always to make recipes that are simple and easy to follow 👍🏻 Stay tuned for more coming this fall ❤️, Marie
I'm definately going to try this recipe. I hate crab cakes that are all cake and not enough crab. Watching you make these has my mouth watering. I can't wait to try them. 😃
Hi Susan! I’m with you on that - much prefer crab cakes with lots of crab! 😊 I’m excited for you to try these. They have been a favorite in my family for years. We even asked the chef to serve them at our wedding reception 15 years ago 🥰 Let me know if you have any questions - I’m here for ya! ❤️, Marie
Great recipe. One note: The reason crab cakes in oven is dry you are overcooking it. Remember your crab meat is already cooked, it only needs 8 minutes in the oven and should be at 375 degrees. Instead of whole egg use egg whites of 2 eggs. To sear it use pan first.
Great tips! It was the extra lime juice and crab juice that loosened my crab cakes
Freezing also helped!
Thank you!
Hi! Thanks so much for watching! Glad the tips were helpful!! 😊 Thanks for the encouraging comments too - means a lot ❤️, Marie
You have inspired me to make these crab cakes. Your tips are great. I love that you have eliminated all the filler that I find in so many recipes and restaurants. They look delicious and seem very easy to make. Thank you!
Hi Suzan! Thanks so much for watching 🥰 I’m excited for you to try the crab cakes! Keep me posted and let me know if you have any questions - I’m happy to help! ❤️, Marie
Marie, you are absolutely delightful. I just found you and I an ecstatic. I watched you make pie dough which I always felt was difficult and I watched you make crab cakes. I am 80 and have always loved to cook. Even now, I am always looking for new easy recipes. You have made my day my dear. I will spend the afternoon looking at more, right after I go shopping for the crab meat. Just keep on being you and I will follow. Thank you so much for sharing.
Hi Kathryn! Thank you so much for watching 🥰 I’m thrilled to hear you enjoyed the videos for pie crust and crab cakes - two of my favorite recipes! You sound like a delight and I’m so glad to be connected. Please stay in touch and stay tuned for more new recipes soon ❤️, marie
Looks delicious and effortless to put together without making a mess,
Hi Joan! So glad you like the recipe! It’s definitely one of my favorites 🥰 Yes I also love that there’s minimal chopping required and only one bowl! 🎉 The oven and air fryer method keep things tidy as well 😊 I’m always looking for ways to reduce the amount of dishes I have to do after cooking lol, so keeping things streamlined is always a goal ❤️, Marie
They look delicious definitely gonna make them
Can you suggest what I can use to replace Old Bay.... we dont get that spice here where I live
Great recipe! Really enjoy your videos -- carrot cake looks so good, pie crust recipe-- love all the great tips! - im new here and can't wait as of today and looking forward to trying many of them
Hi! Thanks so much for watching and welcome to my channel! So glad to have you ❤️ All the recipes are on my website MarieSaba.com and you can always comment here or email me at Marie@MarieSaba.com if you need anything or have a question or request! Thanks again ❤️, Marie
Living in the PNW where salmon is easily available and very fresh, my mother always made salmon cakes instead of crab cakes but she called them salmon patties. Crab is just as available and fresh here, too, but it's more expensive.
I HATE the taste of Old Bay seasoning, will have to find something else. There's just something in Old Bay that I can't even stand the smell of.
Hello! So lucky to have fresh salmon! I love this recipe with salmon. 🙌🏼 That’s interesting about Old Bay! There’s a company called Paul’s that makes good seafood seasoning, you might try one of those. Even a simple garlic salt might work, plus a little paprika for color. Let me know if you find a substitution! Thanks for watching and for your note - I always love to hear from viewers ❤️, Marie
I also live in PNW and I also find that Old Bay flavor is just horrible! To me the nasty smell seems to be used to cover smell of fish or shellfish that are not fresh. Ugh! Needless to say, I don’t eat shellfish or other fish on east coast. I’ll continue eating fresh salmon, fresh Dungeness crab, and other wild Alaska caught fishes.
Thank you for sharing these crab cake recipes. First time I watch your site. Looks delicious & liked the different methods & cooking styles. You explained in detail & outcome of recipe. I felt like I could smell the crabcakes
God Bless & thank you😅😂🎉
Hi Rosemary! So glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching and for the kind note - I can’t wait for you to try these! 😊, Marie

Hello Marie! Love love love your recipes. Can you make the crabcakes ahead of time and reheat? Will that dry them out?
I made the crab cakes tonight in the oven and they were delicious! I also used the sauce and loved it! Easy follow instructions. Thanks Marie!

So update, my crab cakses had more ingredients and I added the parmesan and put them in the freezer for 25 minutes and they came out perfect!!! Thank you!
If you’re from Maryland, a small jar of Old Bay will not last forever. Real Maryland crab cakes are broiled, not fried, unless one is camping.
Hi Mike! Good point! Thanks for your feedback. Always appreciated 😊, Marie
Loved the quick visit of your beautiful kitty.
Great video. I feel confident after watching you to try and make crab cake. Thank you.
Although not Maryland style, these look delicious! Great recipe.
Hey Jake! Thanks for watching and for the note! Stay tuned for more new videos soon, Marie

Totally loved your video..
Since I am allergic to crab but love salmon, my wife loves crab but so so for salmon, make a double batch and split the recipe easy to do.
On fish night make crab cakes for her salmon for me.
Hi Marie,
Do you have the recipe for the remoulade sauce, not the basic but the added ingredients? Is it on your website?
Thanks Pam
Hi Pam! I modified it a bit after this filming and haven’t posted to we sure yet but think I can do today!

Hi Cherie! Welcome! Thanks for watching and I’m so glad to hear you enjoyed the video 😊 Hugs, Marie
Can the uncooked cakes be refrigerated for a day or two prior to cooking?
Hi Carolyn! Hi! Thanks for watching and for your great question! I prefer to freeze the (raw) crab cakes if I plan to cook them a day or two later. Freeze them on a flat cookie sheet lined with parchment (or a plate if not enough room for a sheet pan), coveting gently with Saran Wrap. Once frozen, you can leave them there or transfer frozen crab cakes to a large zip top bag. When you are ready to cook them, simply let them thaw about 15 minutes at room temp before cooking. Hope that helps! Thanks again, Marie
You're wonderful, God bless you and your family ❤
Hi! Thanks so much for watching 😊 So glad you enjoyed the show ❤️, Marie

Hi Gwen! Thanks so much for watching snd for your note! I’m excited for you to try these 😊 Stay tuned for new recipes this fall ❤️, Marie
Love this recipe. I may of missed the temp for baking the crab cakes, what is it please and can you chives instead of onion tops? Thank you...
Hi Lisa! Yes, chives are great. The temp is 425 for 8 minutes a side. Here is the full recipe if you need anything else:

Thanks so much for watching and for your great questions! Hugs, Marie
Thank you Marie. Making these Christmas Eve. You're a pleasure to watch. ❤
Very good information
You can also use canned white chicken meat. We call these Poor Man's Crab Cakes. They're very delicious and a decent substitute if you don't have crab meat.
this is such a well crafted video. i love the recipe, but the presentation is a 10, thank you.
What a great tutorial!
Hi Pam! Thanks so much for watching! I’m glad this tutorial was helpful! Never use the blade of your knife to scrape.
Thanks for watching and for your feedback! I always love to hear from viewers 😊
I take the crab out into a steel bowl and flip it listening for shell rattle against the bowl, and also look for any cartilage. If it smells a bit, rinse with lemon water and drain well while cold. If it still smells throw it out.
Hi! Thanks so much for the tips, so helpful! Stay tuned for more new videos soon ❤️, Marie

It’s delicious, Thks
Do you ever use an egg with your crab cakes to help hold things together like You do with salmon patties?
Absolutely loved her style of instruction. Concise explanations for every ingredient and each step is clearly laid out instead of jumping too far ahead with a lot of fancy edits. Also really appreciate how you discuss why you deviate from other recipes in developing your own. This was exactly what I looking for. Thank you!

I'm recently finding tons of Chicken of the Woods. Flavor profile; slightly lemony, reminiscent of chicken, lobster or crab. I'm going to sub this for crab cakes.
Hi! Thanks for watching and for taking time to leave a note! Always love to hear from viewers 😊 I’ve never heard of Chicken of the Woods but it sounds lovely for this recipe! Sometimes I use lemon basil and it’s wonderful 👍🏻 Stay tuned for more new recipes soon. My best, Marie
Is Marie still making video's ?
Hi Cindy! I am 😁 I had to take a break from filming over summer for financial reasons (everything that goes into my channel gets expensive 😅) but I am hoping to get a new video up soon and then start filming again in the fall. Thanks so much for watching and for your patience. ❤️, Marie

I agree she does and so great at step by step instructions 👏
We’re do you pick up your crab container,is it the grocery store.? I love crab.Thanks.
Hi! Great question. I usually find crab near or in the seafood case. It’s either stored on ice or in the refrigerated area. There is often some crab stored next to canned fish like tuna as well, but I prefer the fresher option at the seafood counter. Hope that helps and thanks for watching ❤️, Marie
I love crab cakes , and your recipe is one I must try, IAM new to your channel I sure enjoy watching, thanks much,
Hi Mildred! Thanks for watching 🥰 So glad you enjoyed the video! Can’t wait for you to try these ❤️, Marie
I’ll give it a try 😛😋😋😋😋I love crabe cakes 👍🏽
Can you freeze these??? How would you reheat??
Use real wood chopping boards, less noise and more hygenic easy on knives ezsier to work with. 😊
Hi! Thanks so much for watching and also for the feedback 😊 I’m always looking to improve my videos so I appreciate your comment ❤️, Marie
Welp. after making crab cakes and having them fall apart- I found this video. I have the remaining crab in the fridge and will make "balls" and freeze and let you know what happens- but I think I used too much liquid- still, I will try to squeeze some of the liquid out tomorrow before I freeze & pan fry and let you know. I am very picky about food and presentation and I have to say this is one of the most-professional videos I've seen and easy to follow, I wrote everything down- and I like the alternate ideas for recipes/cooking. Great job! You should be on television. Oh yeah, - and some of the other comments- I too appreciate no b. s. in the video or music. Excellent.
also- I like the parm addition. Tomorrow I will cook the balance and add fresh parm. And one more thing- your video was exactly what I was looking for so when I scrolled for more videos I decided not to bother. I will update you tomorrow.
@@stevenlaguna338 UPDATE: THEY CAME OUT PERFECT! THANK YOU!!!!

YUMMM…
Thanks for watching! 😊, Marie
Nice way to stretch any crab cake is substitute egg and cheese with salmon or catfish mouse 😊
Hi! Thanks so much for watching and for taking time to leave a tip! I use salmon often and love it! 👍🏻👍🏻
Some great ideas. My husband loves crab cakes and I pair them with my lobster or crab bisque. I’m always looking for new recipes and will try yours. I bake them in a very hot oven (450-475) in a cast iron or stainless steel skillet. At this temperature and with the rack set higher in the oven I’ve found it unnecessary to flip the crab cakes.
Another option if you don’t have crab is to use shrimp. I made them on a whim and they were delicious. You might fiddle with the recipe a little but they were a winner. Thanks for your great advice.
Thank you, Marie. I will make these, and I appreciate the three methods you showed us. Loved the cat (I'm a cat person) and I think you look like a cat, especially the eyes!😆
Love love, love your videos. I’ve started making a cookbook from your recipes. Please tell me the best air fryer to purchase. Thank you.
Thanks for sharing this crab cakes recipe! I can’t wait to make this for my family. Where can I get good quality crab meat?
Hi Helen! Thanks for watching and for taking time to leave a note! Always love to hear from viewers 😊 I can usually find good crab at my regular grocery store in the seafood case. Of course if you have a specialty seafood market in the area, that would be an option too. Hope that helps! Please stay tuned for new recipes soon - I have a version of these with salmon coming soon, which might be easier to find ❤️, Marie

Try mashed potatoes
Hi! Thanks for the idea! I'll have to give it a try! Thanks for watching, Marie
@marieskitchen My grandmother often used extra mashed potatoes for crab, salmon, alligator, or turtle cakes. Saltine crackers and egg a usual go to. She would just whip something up. Crab was rare for us. You just never knew what my grandfather would bring home.
How special! Thanks for sharing 😊
Thank you for this recipe. I will be trying this today. Later I will try it with the salmon as well 😊

We don't have old bay I South Africa. What can I use
Hi! Thanks for watching and for taking time to leave a note! Always love to hear from viewers 😊 Do you have any basic fish seasoning, or fish and chicken seasoning? Or a Cajun or Creole type seasoning blend. Those should all work just fine 👍🏻 Let me know if you need anything else 😊 My best, Marie
