The singer, Casey Williams and her father Jeff Williams actually have made a full album for every RWBY volume.
Also, At the time of Volume 1-3 Casey Lee Williams was only a teenager (age 13-16) when she sang the songs. (^^♪
And everyone hopes they never stops recording these awesome songs

With the "Red Trailer" being released Nov. 5th, 2012 (after RvB season 10 credits) and released online on Nov. 7th, 2012 on TH-cam, she would've been 13 at that time. Now with her birthday being Nov. 25th, yes, during Volume 1's production, she would have been 14 by then.

No, this is not an honor. This is a company IP you are working on. It is no longer Monty’s RWBY, it’s something different, and people could already see that
The best analogy I’ve discussed with anyone for this whole thing is this: Monty carried the torch. When he passed away I picked up the torch, and Sheena was there to carry it with me. We were ready. Some people had major problems with that, but they also did not want any part of Monty’s torch. So they created a new torch altogether and did everything they could to make people believe it was Monty’s torch. It was created to look like his, but they made it with their own hands and are sickeningly proud of it for that reason.
I’m still carrying Monty’s torch. Sheena is still carrying it. Inspired fans carry it. Anyone who was close to the man and who cares enough to honor Monty carries it. We carry Monty’s torch, and I have no intention of letting that fire die out

The singer was born in November 1998 and the album released in November 2013 so assuming it was recorded within a year of release she was probably 14 at the time. Also, the volume 1 soundtrack briefly hit #1 on iTunes which is just insane for such an obscure show that hadn't developed much of a fan base yet
@@mojitosuave Casey is born in '98 but she recorded the songs in 2011 because the first trailer came out in 2012. But yeah the soundtrack was a huge success for the series and rightfully so.

@@taetm8868 all the rwby epsiodes currently up to episode 4 of volume 7 is free to view on rt website with 5 being for free Saturday. They are back to releasing it on TH-cam though because they just dropped volume 6 episode 5 the other day
I feel like season 4's opening can really only be appreciated if you actually watch season 3 itself.

All the music in RWBY (which there is A LOT) is done by the same people. Jeff Williams does the music and his daughter, Casey Lee Williams does the vocals.
Don't forget Lamar Hall for certain songs

The thing about the music for rwby is that they aren't just there to be there. Lyrically they actually give some coded messaging and detail about what's happening throughout the season so they won't really connect imo unless you're following what's happening in the show lol.
The same with the character trailers that initially came out before RWBY first premiered. Would be dope to see you react to those (do it in the R-W-B-Y order) and Dead Fantasy. I think y'all would really like Monty's work with DF; he had a particular knack in animating fight scenes and making them really flow like a dance/tell a story.

the dip after volume 3 was due to moving the animation program/pipeline from poser to maya 3d softwares (and perhaps due to the creative lead, monty oum, passing away after an allergic reaction
As a blind watcher to RWBY just like Double Dragon, I support this idea
they only switched animating programs AFTER montys death because monty was adamantly against changing programs... another example of how RT has taking over and is not longer what monty dreamed... its a RT show not a monty show

they changed programs cause more animators were used to using maya aswell maya offered more things that poser didn't if you want a more in depth look at rwbys Animation change/evolution watch raijin risings video on it

Honestly I highly recommend you guys react to the series. I can almost guarantee you'll see a surge in views and subs. RWBY fans LOVE reactions and also the studio, Rooster Teeth, is super cool with reactors where you don't have to edit the episodes at all. If it does get blocked it's because TH-cam's shit bots. You just have to make a claim and RT will unblock it. Like I've seen RWBY make channels. I mean like 200 views per video on their channel to like 10k views each.

RT will block if you react to their newest episode. They have to give it a few days before showing it on their channel. Most people will give it 4-5 days to avoid any CR claims

It’s always been by rooster teeth. The first season had a really low budget, but the animation improved from season 2 on as the team and budget was expanded.

Yeah the openings pretty accurately represent the series. The creator, Monty Oum, passed away early in production and his animation style and choreography didnt translate well to his absence. This really showed up during volume 4 which a lot of people say has the worst animation along with 5. 6 on the other hand was a big return to form for the series.
Yeah unfortunately Monty was the only one able to work on the first program effectively, so they really needed the switch, but still needed to learn the new one, and his talent for choreography was unmatched no real way to replace that 😢
Crow versus Tyrian in V4 and fight against Albain brothers and Ilia in Blake's home in V5 are still some of the best fights in the series for me, along with Monty's Nevermore and Death Stalker fight in V1, highway chase and Cinder vs Ruby in V2, and also not Monty's Cinder vs Oz\Pyrrha in V3. I liked V6 a lot, but I didn't find the battles to be that spectacular. Also V4 still has the best story of them all, in my opinion of course.

Volume 4 actually had probably the best fight in the series as a whole to date. It's just the writing and the rest of the stuff that was really treated poorly.
The creator of this series became known for his series "Dead Fantasy" worth a watch.
The way he left it on a cliffhanger left me feeling depressed because I know that it will never get a chance to be completed

He became known for Haloid, he was most known for Dead Fantasy prior to working on Red vs Blue, now RWBY

You should know that the creator Monty Oum died not long after volume 2 ended. They also changed animation programs between volume 3 and 4

Someone might of said some of this stuff but hopefully I add something that hasn't been said yet. Monty Oum created and was lead animator for this show. In between Volumes 2 and 3 he passed away, that's why it feels like after volumes 3 it was losing the connection. Volume 4 they started using a new animation program and I felt like they were still learning the program while making the show. Also the singer is Casey Williams, her dad, Jeff Williams composed it, they do ALL the song's in the show. She was only 12 during Volume 1 and each volume is roughly 1 year apart. If you like Casey's singing check out her band "OK Goodnight"
In addition. Monty was the lead choreographer and coordinator. In seasons 3, 4, and 5. They were still finding help. after season 3 they found a choreographer. After season 5 they found someone that coordinated fight scenes to keep those fights consistent...
However, they changed monty's vision starting from season 2.5. and really started pandering.... Still love the show, I'll watch it till it ends. Ain't ganna stop. But after they did to shane and monty's wife. I have serious problems with them.

Ten years ago I hated reaction channels but you two have pretty much single handedly flipped my opinion. You have passion for what you do and so much energy but NONE of it feels fake or exaggerated! I only found the channel a couple of months ago but I watch pretty much every new upload and have been going through a lot of the old ones too. I hope you two can keep this quality and success going for as long as you keep enjoying creating content.
RWBY isn't for everyone, I like the show but I hesitate to recommend it to others because of how hit or miss it can be. I think that the fights are really cool to watch and I like the world but in my opinion the story can drag at times. The music is always amazing and it is definitely a really unique show in terms of visual presentation. So far, the newest season has had a great start.

The full songs of these openings are definitely worth a listen once you complete each Volume. I love the lyrics.
Now ya'll gotta react to the 4 character trailers that came out before the first volume of RWBY. That's the Red trailer, the White trailer, the Black trailer, and the Yellow trailer. In that order. The Red trailer actually debuted in 2012 but the first episode of the series debuted in 2013.
I have watched this series faithfully since vol.1 and I feel that the series is still great even if RT changed things. Monty passing away was sad to hear but the fact that his series is still flourishing after his death is amazing. I thought it would end after he left this world but it still manages to pull you back in with better animation and good storytelling.

The thing about it is, the intro songs tie into the theme of that particular volume of episodes. So you have to watch the episodes to get where the characters are at, at the moment when each intro is shown.

Oh dear... some of the openings have spoilers, especially 4 and 7. But yeah, watch the trailers. The whole show, if you have time. The music remains on point throughout, and the animation improves almost every volume.
Assuming they don't go back and watch the later openings while watching the series, they won't realize what the spoiler was in the 4th until after what happens, happens. So yeah, spoilers, but nothing too bad.

The Volume 4 theme was actually more a tribute to the creator of the show Monty Oum. He ended up passing away near the end of volume 3, so the line "Move Onward Not There Yet" spell out his name.

The girl singing is Casey Williams, she does the singing voice for Weiss (the girl in white). Her and her father do most of the music for the show.

aight so the Vocalist of this is Casey Lee Williams, her Father Jeff is a fairly well known rock singer and does all of the music. She was 14 when the first season came out so thats why her voice gets kinda deeper as you go along. She actually just released her first solo album Limbo with her Band Ok Goodnight last month.
the creator basically built the trailers and first season himself but died during production of season 3. it was a smash hit and actually pulled big numbers in japan which is why you'll see it on Crunchyroll and stuff despite not technically being anime. the company today is one of the biggest names in western 3d TV animation, to the point that the next series they made Gen:lock is backed and Voiced by Michael B Jordan and will air exclusivly on HBO max next year.

These openings are very interesting to watch straight through like this, because you can see the differences between each season fairly distinctively.
The first two are rough around the edges, but have focus to what is important.
The third is a clear improvement over the first two, but now there is also a starker, "end of the world" feel to it. (The original creator of this series, Monty Oum, died while making season 3. The extra time in that opening was because they had that shot of a rose at the beginning with a dedication to him. That may also accentuate the grim feeling I attribute to season 3.)
Season 4 goes back to a happier color palette and song (though if you listen to the full song, there IS a theme of mourning to it as well. It's just not as dark as 3), and while the animation on its own has seen a leap in quality, the actual action and combat has seen a LARGE drop. Monty was well known for his action choreography even before he made RWBY, so losing him really put a damper on it. They managed to reach a similar level of quality by season 6 imo, but 4 and 5 feel off 80% of the time. 5 is closer than 4, but not close enough. However, 5 has the benefit in that the action in the actual story is higher than it was in 4, and so they can show that off better in the OP.
And then we get to 6. It still feels slightly off compared to seasons 1-3, but this time I think that is mostly because they're using a different animation program. (They switched to a better one with season 4, but I think 6 is when they really use it well.)
And... This is the first time I've seen 7. It feels VERY different... But at the same time, it also feels like they took what they had and made it MORE anime than it was before. I'm down with that.
I will say, I'm only talking about the opening as a whole here. In terms of songs, they're ALL fantastic, and I definitely recommend listening to the full versions. This is also only a small sample of the soundtrack, which has SO MANY GOOD SONGS.
I have one big piece of advice for if you react to the show: avoid the Fandom.
Most of it is great but there's a minority of people who just follow the show because they enjoy hating on it and trying to ruin people's enjoyment. Just ignore them.
The lead singer for RWBY, Casey Lee Williams, also recently came out with an album of her own. It's called Ok Goodnight, so if you're a fan of her voice I recommend looking into that.
The openings are more impactful if you've seen the show. Example, if you knew what happened in volume 3, volume 4's opening would hit home more

Side note: Be sure to listen to the full soundtrack for each volume whenever you finish them. The songs in rwby are all really good, and they're all by Jeff and Casey Lee Williams. You don't have to make reactions to the soundtracks, but personally I'd be really grateful because the soundtracks don't get enough attention from the reaction channels that watch the show, even though everything RWBY realated is pretty safe for upload onto TH-cam.
Side Note #2: Around the time you watch volume 2 or 3, you might wanna start watching the side videos called "World of Remnant" which are short videos that help with world building on topics like the Grimm, which are those monsters everyone is fighting.
Final side note: If you do go the way of reacting to the soundtrack, FlyntofRWBY makes some good lyric videos for them cuz he gets the official lyrics straight from Jeff Williams. Also, if you do use his videos, the art he uses in his lyric video of "Sacrifice" from the volume 2 soundtrack is slightly spoilery. Fair warning.

Every beginning credit song was sung by Casey Williams.
Casey Lee Williams is the girl who sings in the openings. Her father does most of the music for the series. She was around 12 when she sung for Red and Blue, which is another roosterteeth series. She’s around 14 when she started RWBY so her voice got deeper as the series progressed. That’s why it sounded different later on. She has her own band called Ok Goodnight. They’re only starting out but are really good. It’s in a similar style to Rwby’s soundtracks. I’d recommend checking out the series as well as Casey. 1, 3 and 6 are the best to me. Not used to 7 yet.

The soundtrack for this show is mostly by a father-daughter pair, but the mother and other artists sometimes feature. Where when Casey (the daughter) first started singing for RWBY she was a teenager, and her father I believe plays multiple background instruments and sometimes contributes to vocals.

Casey Lee Williams has sung all 8 Volume openings (8 came out after this video and Vol. 9 is set to drop in January). When Volume 1 dropped, she was only 14. So when Volume 5 hit and her voice matured, there was a lot of people who were wondering if they'd gotten a new vocalist and we're relieved to find out that wasn't the case.

Rwby is one of my favorite series.
The first song was an extended version shown in the first episode, not the "usual" opening shown every volume 1 episode after that, so it WAS longer.
All the openings are Casey Williams. She's talented and you get to listen to her mature over the years.

btw all the openings were sung by the same singer. she sang the first opening when she was less than 16. Her name is Casey Williams.
Also if you guys like her voice then you should know that for each volume of the series there is a soundtrack with multiple lyrical songs that you can listen to.

Hey guys, I don't know if you are interested or not, but each one of these intros has a longer "full version" if you want to hear them you can find Lyric Videos of each on You Tube. The intros are:

At this point, you can just not show any footage and we just have to sync the footage ourselves. The only difference is that you guys can't pause the video or rewind them to talk. Roosterteeth is at least very Ok with people reacting to the show in full.
As a show, RWBY started of very very shaky production wise. Since Roosterteeth were not as big as they are now and this was more of a passion project of its creator, Monty. For season 1-3 it was mainly his animations that made the series what it is. Sadly, Monty passed away around season 3 due to severe allergic reaction but the show continued on.
From season 4 onward, they used a new program and it was a big growing pain for them. Without Monty's trademark animation style, the fight scenes were nowhere near as fluid. But from then on, the show looked more and more like a proper anime and now, it is even on crunchyroll. Aside from Studio Orange making amazing CG shows like land of the lusterous and Beastars, RWBY is probably one of the best CG animated show around.

This whole series was created by Monty Oum, who has sadly passed away in 2015. He was a self taught animator who animated the first and second volume of RWBY all by himself, which was super impressive on its own, and of course wrote the story and characters of RWBY.
If you have the time, please react to this series! I’m not saying this just to commemorate Monty but also because this series is a literal work of art and so SO enjoyable to watch. Seeing how you enjoy the animation, I can guarantee the fights in this series will also be to your liking. I hope you consider!

Music composer for ALL of the RWBY intros is Jeff Willaims and his daughter doing the vocals Casey Lee Williams
and ya what he said about rooster teeth not having major backing is all true
the rooster teeth animation dept did Red vs Blue (RVB) but that was mainly capturing from Halo
forRWBY they did all the animation, Mocap and CGI in house
and in terms of getting the albums for each volume you can get it from spotify or whatever platform you get your music from as far as i know cuz i got the albums from spotify
if you going to watch it on youtube volume 6 is just coming out on youtube, for volume 7 you have to watch it on the rooster teeth website
