  • Not all JDM legends cost too much and this video goes through some cheap Lancer Evolutions, in need of some TLC, that sold recently in the Japanese Auctions.
    Enjoy! And give me some feedback on the video!

    ye I am pretty deep into this and I can tell you most are not "bargains" most are pretty much trash if you want a good car go to the car dealers in japan, auctions are where most cars go to die.

    • @JDMArchives
      @JDMArchives  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yeh I agree with you on that, a lot of people under estimate restoration, especially on a complete worn out car.

      Auctions are definitely not the place where cars go to die, there are a heap of good quality cars there you just need to have an inspection done and take caution before buying just like you would buying a car anywhere in the world, I'm sure there are plenty of people out there that can tell you they've gotten a gem from auctions.

      @@cheekibreeki9521 exactly! I’ve owned some great JDM cars that have come from auctions. Best place to get them. It’s just really important to get full inspections done on the car prior to bidding.

      Unfortunately you have to be a Dealer to buy from Japanese auctions, but Japanese import brokers can easily help you with that and charge a small fee.
      Thanks for watching!

    I got a Evo6 GSR in white for about 10K$ but it has lot of tiny part being changed or missing and each one worth a lot of money(like break cooling duck etc😢if you are gonna modify it then i think is okay for a base car,if you are looking for collection,then just pass those cheap evo

    • @JDMArchives
      @JDMArchives  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Completely agree, the parts are hard to find and expensive. If you have the money it would be cheaper to buy a nice example, instead of restoring one.
      I think these cars are great buys for anyone who can’t afford a really decent one and just trying to get in the market before they all disappear.

    JDM evo 8 or 9's did not get adjustable wings, manual is wrong. Would love to see some examples if you want to prove me otherwise

    • @JDMArchives
      @JDMArchives  4 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Nice pick up. Interestingly, the manual clearly states adjustable spoiler however it’s clearly NOT adjustable. Interestingly I’ve found some forums talking about this. Consensus is that it was leftover from the Evo 7 manual which is adjustable and the intentions was for it to be adjustable for the 8 and 9 but wasn’t. I might highlight this comment. Thanks.

    Hey mate, great video!
    I'm thinking of importing an RX-7 to Aus sometime soon. Looking at J-Spec imports at the moment - have you got any info or tips with this particular car and site?
    Bit confused with SEVS and people/documentations saying only 1999-2002 models can be imported.

    • @JDMArchives
      @JDMArchives  หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Awesome, I was thinking of looking at RX7s in a next video.
      Best to ask the import broker that question, but my understanding is that in Australia the car must not be originally sold in Australia and Australia never got RX7s after 1999. That’s why you could import after 1999. Although, Australia also has a 25 year rule like USA, so you should be able to import the older RX7s now that they are 25 years old.

    For these cars I'm worried about the rust on the undercarriage. What do you think I should do/look for in this case? Is it a big problem?

    • @JDMArchives
      @JDMArchives  24 วันที่ผ่านมา

      It all depends how bad the rust is. Getting a full inspection done on a car prior to bidding is the only way you should buy a car when not in person with it. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching.

    If I'm correct, I don't think the US allows cars that are less than 25 years old to be imported from Japan and be legally driven on public roads.

    • @JDMArchives
      @JDMArchives  17 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Yes thats correct. So as of now, 1999 (Evo 6) models and older can be imported. I Simply use US Dollars for comparison as my viewers are evenly spread across many countries.

      @JDMArchives  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      This is Car Auctions Japan, it doesn’t have all the auction sites like some others. Always best to import with a broker to your country as they will know all the import rules and legislations. Good luck! Thanks for watching.

      These are car cost only. It adds up pretty quick, shipping and compliance, taxes into your country etc. Different for each country, thats why these are in car cost only US dollars and it’s important to use a import broker.

      You can find these cars at Car Auctions Japan. There is lots of sites and auction houses. If you’re looking to buy, definitely go with an import broker, as they deal with imports on a daily basis.
