I´m sure not only the Century had factory option curtains. With the Q45 (yes it was also sold in Japan) you could also get a golden and a diamant car key!

@@JDMArchives Yes. And the curtains (stock) in the Elgrand are very fast. For privacy. 😁 And those keys were expensive. But it was also the bubble era. Money was not the biggest concern back then. 😁
R32 skylines had active aero even on non gtr versions, pacific coast auto exported a blue 4 door automatic one with this feature still fitted and working

Gotta love some factory options, great video man. Idea for future one: rare jdm wheels? We're all kinda familiar with Starsharks, and SSR mesh's etc but theres gotta be some proper rare shit?! Take it easy dude 🤘
I can look into that for sure. I did make a video on 15 different OEM sets of wheels for the R34 GTR. Heaps of rare OEM options like Mines BBS, LMGT series, R34 Impul, TommyKaira, etc. You might find it interesting how many options the R34 GTR actually had. for the chains where mostly sold with GT cars as there market at the time was for uppercases people who like to go skiing. now im not presenting this as fact but from the view point of someone who has studied the options and advertisement side of the JDM world. hope that clears that up

Interesting video. I would have added something like the Caldina skylite roof, 92 Corolla 3 fragrance indash airfreshner, Modelista body kits etc. So many weird things for JDM cars.

Look up for civic eg options, all you want, navigation screens, pole, parking sensor(kind of), rear hatch pole!, a pillow!, a 50cc bike, air purifiers, snow chains, voice control, some kind of bucket, box, and much more shit you never thought a small economy car would have or offer to come with

That flag pole is a parking assist, showing the driver where the car ends. many jdm cars got it.

Should have used the vr4 for active aero
The Honda NSX-R GT's "Snorkel", or I like to call it the "unicorn" is quite literally a unicorn. Honda only made 5 for homologation reasons but since it was so late in the production cycle (2005), no one wanted to buy it. Only one was ever sold to Yoshiaki Yoshida (CEO of DHC Corp) and it sat in BINGO Sports showroom until it was sold just earlier this year to an anonymous buyer.
Wow! That’s fascinating. There’s so many stories like that with unique JDMs. Can you imagine how fast they would sell now!? The more I look at the car the less weird it looks and the more I love it.
@@JDMArchives The funny part is the "unicorn" isnt even functional on the retail version. It's just a plastic snorkel that they stick onto the rear windshield. The NSX-R that Honda use in the JGTC has plastic windshield so they can cut a hole for the snorkel.

Unfortunately you have to be a Dealer to buy from Japanese auctions, but Japanese import brokers can easily help you with that and charge a small fee. Thanks for watching!
JDM evo 8 or 9's did not get adjustable wings, manual is wrong. Would love to see some examples if you want to prove me otherwise
Nice pick up. Interestingly, the manual clearly states adjustable spoiler however it’s clearly NOT adjustable. Interestingly I’ve found some forums talking about this. Consensus is that it was leftover from the Evo 7 manual which is adjustable and the intentions was for it to be adjustable for the 8 and 9 but wasn’t. I might highlight this comment. Thanks.
I feel like if I was to grab the Evo 5 the total would come up to $25k
These are car cost only. It adds up pretty quick, shipping and compliance, taxes into your country etc. Different for each country, thats why these are in car cost only US dollars and it’s important to use a import broker.
Man i want one of these so bad but until i saved up enough probably all the good ones are gonna be already imported to the us as they surpass the 25 mark (im talking about V and VI)
You’d be surprised how many continue to come up for sale, keep saving and you’ll get there!
If I'm correct, I don't think the US allows cars that are less than 25 years old to be imported from Japan and be legally driven on public roads.
Yes thats correct. So as of now, 1999 (Evo 6) models and older can be imported. I Simply use US Dollars for comparison as my viewers are evenly spread across many countries.

What site do you use to browse these auctions?
besides the type r bathurst r, what are the average prices FD's sell for at auction?
It’s hard to come up with an average price, as every car is so different. But a good condition RX7 ball park figure would be around 30-35k USD still in Japan.
@@JDMArchives how hard do you think it would be to find a decent condition example for say 15-20k?
For these cars I'm worried about the rust on the undercarriage. What do you think I should do/look for in this case? Is it a big problem?
It all depends how bad the rust is. Getting a full inspection done on a car prior to bidding is the only way you should buy a car when not in person with it. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching.
