They must teach being late in model school. Great stuff
It never fails lol
As long as they don’t throw temper tantrums and phone at you.
@@Babumoshaaai or “forget” their outfits

Dope shoot. Dope. Fire. I'm blown away by all the different looks you got. Using the modeling light was great. Thanks again for another informative and amazing video. Lots of notes taken from this one.

Awesome video Mike! I love your photography/video skills and also how infectious you are as a human. I've been shooting 35mm for the past 6 months and have just purchased a Pentax 6x7 (You defo were one of the people that inspired me to get it). I can't wait explore and learn with the medium format side. Keep up the great work bro!
Thanks so much bro. I really appreciate you.

Great Shoot Mike!
Thanks a lot!
Amazing videos loved this shoot
Thanks so much!
Serious early 80's Scarface vibe. Great video and great shoot.
Thanks a lot!
Love your homage to the 1970's, when, presumably, you never lived through any of that decade. Respect.
I love period pieces.
Now this is classy boudoir
great work & vid!!!💪
Thank you!
love your video so much
Thank you so much!!
That boy good! imma have to pull up on you with my Pentax haha. Great work bro!

Awesome shoot
Thank you!
good work, you should do some more boudoir shots like this, classy, great model and film choice, colour and B&W done well; real magazine quality.
Thanks a lot!
Looks good bro.. Nice shots

Man that first photo on strobe? AMAZING
Thanks so much!
Amazing ass shots! All of them!
Thanks so much!
Nice.
Time is of the essence. If I miss one bus, another will be there in 10-15 mins. In other words, if they don't value, respect my time like I do, I will find someone else as fast as their heads spinning.
preach!
Oooooohhhh man the location is really good buy you killing the vibe the flash. Just an opinion🤘love your videos
Thanks a lot Damian 👌🏾
You're the goat!
I appreciate you!
a great video, lovely shots, very 60's (aka mike myers' austin powers, you know the style liz hurley was in). nailed the shots, good job, and like the movie, not krass, but subtle, esp. the cake shots.
Thanks again!
Hello!
If I see it correctly, then you are using the Hasselblad PME 90 prism viewfinder on your Hasselblad 500 CM. I own the Hasselblad 501 CM and a portable flash system from Profoto. Question: What setting do I need to have on my lens so that I can trigger the flash via my Profoto Air Remote TTl. I see you don't ship Profoto flash heads, but you also fire your flash remotely. It would be nice if you could help me.
❤
🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
Bravissimo-!
Thank you!!!
So good. Any tips for getting critical focus on the Hasselblad when using the PME prism?
Honestly, for me i feel like it's luck haha. My eyes are terrible but just to make sure. I'll focus then take my eye off the viewfinder & blink a few times. look through again and if it's clear then i'm good to go haha.
Sparks ideas with the record player, thx broham 👍🏽
You bet!
@7:27 is awesome!
Thank you
what was the strobe /constant light you were using?
Broncolor 800s
Definitely an 80s/ early 90s bedroom
🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
Maski g tape on the pentaprism of the 67. With writing "flash 1/30". That should help you remeber
I may have to give it a try. Thanks 🙏🏾
Using the strobes just use a shoot through umbrella or soft box to cut down on reflections
Thanks for the tip!
Wow, she looks like Uma Thurman. You should make some Kill Bill theme photoshoot or Pulp Fiction
🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
That décor looks early 70's to me.
🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
I will add your "first book" to my collection of "first books" from Tubers i follow.
How do you find your models? they're always great!
One of the benefits of living in LA I’ll say haha
You can tell this model has worked on big campaigns. Being late is a sign that she was "whatever" about shooting with a unknown photographer and also her references she brought up in conversation. I always go back to a quote that Jeaux Diego told me about models and shooting film....."I mean, no one ever looks at a photograph and says 'That was shot on film with a 35mm lens.' So this debate between film or digital is just laughable. What separates a photographers work is their subject. Specifically, the model. You can be the most technically proficient photographer, but if your model has an average look, then it's all for naught."
Fair enough haha.
Man, all great, but that 1st one with her tattoo on forearm was sick...nice
Thanks a lot
I’ve come to accept that if it’s perfect, you got lucky and celebrate it. As one masters their craft there are other times you can finesse the boo boo and no one will notice, other times the boo boo can be turned into a feature, but lastly sometimes you have to know when to accept defeat and recognize it’s just better to start over instead of wasting allot of time on trying to fix the un-fixable.
Couldn’t have been said any better. Indeed!
Hollywood, it's Art Deco
🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
Just started watching, but why are you burning frames? 1:08
Haha I’m not burning frames. I was advancing the film to the starting point.
@@MikeGrayFilm the proper way is to crank the back until it stops 😉
Getting cake out the shag pile carpet might blow the budget in dry cleaning.
Thank God we didn’t get it in that carpet. Lol
She’s like Uma Thurman
agreed!
You ever think about the male gaze man?
8:00 she looks like Susan Summers
beautiful photos in such a tiny space. dissing the model not cool tho 🤣
Lmao all love & fun. Nothing personal hahaha
it defo looks like a Planar
Mike Gray is unfuckwitable 🔥
Lol 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
I understand that a model being late is not ideal, but I kinda feel like it's really mean of you to showcase it like that. I mean she's gotta make money too. I mean I kinda get it but DAGG
It was all fun & games and was out of love. Nothing personal haha
X-sync 1\30? im onece forget about that and shooting, after devellop film im detect my false))) im set 1\60 and 3\5 of frame just black))) good lesson)) so one more, Anri Cartier says - your first 10 000 photos be like is shit)) but keep calm and do it again! P.S. sorry my bad english, im russian =)
Don't tell your model it's ok that they were an hour late! Set boundaries for God's sake!!!!!
Who make a style on models on yours photoshoot?
It’s a collaboration between the model and I.
@@MikeGrayFilm Thank you!
Where the f**k do you find these locations and get permission to use them??? 😂 Seriously cool theme, cool model and great results
The luxury of living in LA
Love the bedroom / first location captures... but if I can be honest, something about the doesn't connect and I am wondering if that's how you felt too reviewing the footage/images... you seemed for more disassociated with the model, location, timing issues than you have been in previous videos or any previous content for that matter... and I think that shows in the images - that this distractions took away from you creating your art... I am not sure if it was the lateness of the model, the vibe, or the model requesting specific shots (the record player picture) but something is off. Just to be clear, it's not to say that great images weren't captured but usually you are far more excited about what you captured and I think that your frustration was noticeable... you seemed limited and not able to get comfortable aka "IN YOUR BAG" and that could been a combination of things... the Pentax issues, the schedule, the camera man's name, the model.... all seemed like they distracted you from concentrating on creating your work. I'm just trying to keep it 100. Might be time for a personal assistant, fam. Love and appreciate everything you do bro! Can't wait until the next one!
Haha damn that was well said but I don’t feel that way. It wasn’t my best work but still loved the images. Each model will bring a different energy. Not to say Cassidy’s was bad at all. I appreciate the concern though!
@@MikeGrayFilm don't get me wrong, it is/was fantastic work, as always, bruh. You set the bar high as hell and I was reading and dissecting everything as a fan and creative... a bit too much hahahh thank you for giving us incredible work, even if you don't think its the best, you still KILLED IT!
