Wow. These images are beautiful, thank you so much for taking the time to test the films and share the video.
Thank you all for everything 🙏🏾🙌🏾
Who needs Tri-X, this is exactly the same but for half the price. As evidenced here.
@@chumleyk Especially since Agfa doesn't do medium format anymore. For 35mm, Agfa 100 or 400 (forgot which one) has almost the exact same reproduction curve as Tri X. And depending on where you live it might be available in almost every drug store. Then again, a lot of people say Agfa and Kentmere are the same emulsion, so in case that's true, it doesn't matter.
The photos are stunning as usual, but I'm also loving the atmosphere in the studio. You have a great, positive attitude that turns the photoshoot into something relaxing and friendly. Add to that someone like Kendall, who is just as positive and radiates tremendous vibes, and that's it. Nothing can go wrong. 🙂 Cheers! //Rick
Thanks so much!
"Veteran" model looking like she was born to do it! Stunning lady! Simple, classic B&W portraits, can't go wrong!
I appreciate it!
What I appreciate most about your photography and your channel is your interactions with the subjects you capture; you have genuine interactions with everyone you collaborate with and there’s always positive energy. I wouldn’t initially pair lingerie with boxing but somehow it works. It’s dope. The business casual is well executed and so effortless as well 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿
I really appreciate you!
Man i just love your photos. Every session is nailed! Shout out to the model as well, she was amazing
Thanks so much.
What cool people you meet.
I'm always completely blown away.
been seeing you all over my tv! lol cant wait for the the next video!!!
Thanks bro haha
Great video Mike! Beautiful images - love the 400 with natural light!
Thank you!
Loved this shoot and Kendall was fab. Great job Mike!
Thank you!!!
Thanks for sharing this. I’m getting back into photography after a 30 year hiatus. I have forgotten everything but I’m excited to learn again. Watching how shoots are done is helpful. I just did nature and whatever caught my eye before. This time I’m going to try portrait and groups. So I thank you again.
Go for it!
Fun video man. Pretty inspiring stuff. And absolutely stunning work, beautiful.
Thank you so much!
That Samurai tho! Big props - Been wanting one for ages!
I loved to use 'budget' cameras back in the day to sync to strobes in the studio!
Found out the flash Sync speed and metered to that - effin brilliant!
🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
Great video! I loved Kendall fun-girling about the Samurai. And Fuji does have 24 exposure film, so 50 frames on a half-frame camera is not unusual.
A fab model and that space of yours is outstanding, bruh! Killer images...
Thanks so much Bruce!
Killed it, congrats to you both.
Thanks Richard
dope video, dope shots! first shot with the strobe was my fave...keep doing ya thing!
Thanks a lot bro!
Love this! Great work!!
Thank you!
Bring film back. I remember the days of that Pentax beast.
Like to see you with an enlarger, dark room, red light and photo paper. Go all the way. No computer, no software, just photo paper, developer and fixer. In the early 70s, while stationed in the Philippines at Clark AB, we had a photo lab where we developed film and printed black and white pictures. That was a ton of fun.
🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
I liked the video and your work. Kendall is not only beautiful on the outside. She has this beautiful light radiating from within. Thanks for vid!!
I appreciate you.
Great video Mike. I'm just starting to get into film photography so, your videos have been a big help with learning film.
I appreciate that man! Welcome to the film life. I’m sure you’re capturing some dope stuff
I love Kentmere. It's a little grainy in 35mm but it's a pleasant grain IMO. Nice video!
Thanks a lot for watching
B&W Kentmere Pan 400 + Natural lighting = Results, mate!
Great stuff! And really cool to see an old Samurai half frame. I have one but rarely shoot it. This was a sign to change that :)
thanks a lot. Yes it was super cool to use!!!
This video doing numbers!!
No lie!!!
Great shots, love the look✌
Thank you.
Fantastic shoot. True professional model and I loved your presenting style. Only a few months into film photography so my skill level is very basic but I’m loving the journey so far. Now subbed to your channel. Hope this all helps improve work to my own channel too. Keep up the great work 👍🏻
Stunning!
Thanks Darrell!
All very good solid shoot !, beautiful model!
Thank you!
Nice shoot Mike, great model. When I shoot studio Pentax 6x7 I use either the 90 mm or the 165 leaf shutters and just lock the mirror up shoot any shutter speed you want. That 1/30 speed with that focal plane shutter is just way to slow with any ambient light or subject movement with strobes.
Keep up the Great work.
I need that leaf shutter!!! Thanks a lot though.
Fire per usual ❤
🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
Bangers 💯 all the shots were tastefully chosen. Dope film stock to use with flash🙌
Thank you so much !
the model is gorgeous... nice video and great pictures
Thank you so much
Anotha banger!!!🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌
Thanks brother!!!
Hell yeah bro i loved this!!!
thank you family!
Mike is undefeated man, wow. Beautiful photos brotha.
Thank you bro. 🙏🏾
Love the spirit.
🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
good stuff man !
Appreciate it!
I think the 1 where she is Leaning over the Couch end was GOLD....the Look in her Eyes were on another level verses the other pictures !!!
🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾 I appreciate it
@@MikeGrayFilm Your Welcome Young Man !!
Dope vibes... as human beings, we have to do this more. Be in the presence of a beautiful person and just take in the vibes without crossing the inappropriate lines. Its so dope to just enjoy the moment while working! when you take out the perversions, Women are SOO COOL to work with. Frames came out crazy!!!
Absolutely!!
Looking good as always my man. I haven’t shot my bronica in a while but this made me wanna bust it out for some square format portraits soon!
Bring it on out!!!
mike always going crazy
my guy!
yes mike 💥
🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
Let's go Dallas!
🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️
Long Live Film. Nice photos. Film is all I shoot. Beautiful model.
🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
Black and white portraits are so beautiful
Thank you.
I love shooting in B/W. It makes you work harder than color. It make you use light & shadow.
i agree all the way.
Half frame gang!!! Great video yall!!!
Yes! Thank you!
Good video as always ❤
Thanks so much 🙌🏾
Ive been doing a series with digital black and whites but i may have to throw some in on my pentax 645 or leica m6 now. dope video!
Thanks a lot! Do it. 🙏🏾
Hey Mike! I love your work & is always inspired. Hope you’d do some beach portraits someday!
I will! Thank you.
Enjoyed seeing your video. Great model and even the photographer isnt too bad looking. Yes, very slow sync with the Pentax.
Thanks for watching! Yes I will not forget the slow sync next time.
Wow the photos are fire 🔥🔥!!!Shout out to Kendall what a babe!!
Thanks a lot!
those were dope shot
Thank you.
Good stuff!
Thanks Stephen!
IMO Kentmere is dope and ur subject is fly. MG strikes again...♨️
Thank you!!!
A man from Texas wearing a Eagles Jersey. Hell yea! Also these photos are dope.
Been a fan since 2005 haha! Thanks a lot.
Great video, great photographer, great model, great atmosphere, everything simple..great pictures..Bravo. what lenses were you using on the Pentax 67, and the Hassy?? Thank you
90mm on the Pentax. 80mm on that Hassi! Thanks so much.
cool Man ! Thanks
Thank YOU for watching!
Great shots. 2:10 and 3:38 are my fav. Should be framed IMO. But then again you always deliver.
I appreciate it haha
Liked. I did b&w analog photography from 40 years ago, including darkroom etc. Though digital media is much better (especially considering all the chemicals involved to process & develop analog film & actually lighting/processingf the negatives in the darkroom on light sensitive paper), i do miss working with film & in the darkroom.
..thanks, you did great guys... the lady was cool.. greets BM
Thank you.
Just re watched this for the ??????time. Kendal was awesome. Which was your best natural light photo????
Thanks for this great BTS. :-)
Thanks for your support!
The Hassy took this one all the way to the crib! #TeamHassy
Thanks a lot. I agree with you
Hi Mike,do you scan the negatives yourself ? If so what scanner is that and how long does it take to scan a 6x7 frame?
No I took these to my lab and got imacon scans
very cool / lovely model personality / say, im in NY / where can i pick up some instructions on metering for film on medium format??
TH-cam university 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
Another outstanding video and another great interactive model! 📸
#flyeaglesfly
Thanks Charles
Nice to see you work with film, why did Ilford come up with a new name for its film? Since a lab does your scanning,, do they also process for your or do you soup the film yourself.?
They processed the film for me!
Very nice.
Thank you
Aaaaah......film in a digital world. Describes my life...
Haha
Niiiice
You are at your best with B&W. How do you deal with dust removal on your B&W film scans, I find it a cloning nightmare.
I appreciate it. My lab is great!
Great video. Which camera, in your opinion, has the best IQ
that's a hard one man. I love both!
It was most probably a 24 exposures roll in the Kyocera. So ~48 half frame exposures :))
👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾
Pentax will be unveiling a new film camera. Seems like the market for people who want to shoot film is growing.
There we go!
Would it be to much show how you meter with a strobe light and light meter?
Video coming soon!
What light meter do you use homie?
Sekonic L-358
I tried digital cameras but some reason it's not for me so I'm stayed with the film so that easier for me to work with than digital
Really short shadow detail , not that you need it always , but you want some internal contrast for your models dark hair and black lounge wear .
Would have liked you to have compared a roll of fp4 and a roll of tri x . Nice video and images ! Great little studio with natural light ! Pretty girl. !
Like your character as a photographer , you have a way !
🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
Yo Mike you always killing it for sure, i ain’t go a lot to say but other than saying big ups to you bro and the beautiful model as well cause she sure killed it ⚡️
Thank you so much!
Forgetting your flash sync speed is just one of those lessons you have to learn by experience no matter how much you know. It hurts, but it works. Still a lot cheaper than those lights though.
haha you're absolutely right
hey from germany
Not sure if its been mentioned...probably has, but just in case half frame camera shooting 24 exposures probably lead to it being 50
100% hahaha
I had to double back to make sure I heard right. 1/60th on the Pentax handheld? Ballsy! They look sharp though, at least on TH-cam
I always shoot that on the Pentax lol. I have that grip down! Haha
@@MikeGrayFilm I'm impressed!!
E A G L E S, Eagles!!!!
Fly eagles fly!!!!
lets go eagles!
Let’s goooooo!!!!!
5:05 haha
Loving your work man. Did you check out the GFX yet?
thanks andy! Got it on me as we speak. Video on the way ;)
@mikegreyfilm yeees! Looking forward to it
My dude, i shoot gold for 35mm and portra for 120! Film prices are too high for portra!
I can’t disagree with you!
My Yashica Samurai died :(
I’m sorry to hear that :/
there's nothing wrong with using Fujifilm in her camera.
I mean it probably ended at 50 cause you were using a 24 exposure roll...
I love seeing people shoot film. But without discussing the chemistry you used to process or how it was scanned--it's really not a useful film review. How does this compare to other films processed under similar chemistry? I suspect you don't know because you had to send it out to someone who has a Noritsu medium format scanner. This film was designed to be printed--not scanned. So what was the point of the "review"?
This space def is killed when you use flash, cmon.
🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️
Bro you need some sleep! Take care of urself :D
Yeah I do lol
Eagles? Really Michael? Really?
Eagles all day.
Where was the “how to” part? You just shot and flirted w the model, didn’t teach a thing
hahahahaha
Well, nearly ten minutes of my life wasted and I know nothing more about Kentmere Pan 100 and 400 than I did before! Appropriate developers and time/temps suggested gamma curves? Either state secrets or the concepts are mysteries.
Hahahaha
y all ? tell you what mate never will i sub to this Micky mouse channel in fact y all will just block this cannel as its just about you making out your something your not and it has nothing to offer anyone
Hahahaha go ahead :)
