I feel your pain on the wiring harness. I've been thinking of doing the budget RyWire kit my self, but think that's a project for another day since I just spent $200 on a OEM D series Vtec harness to get the car on the road. I now have 3 wiring harnesses for the car. USDM CX harness, JDM B16 harness, and now a USDM D16Z6 harness. Maybe if I can sell off some of my spares I can justify it. Oh and I ran that same setup on my B20B swap in a EK. Throttle response on the low end leaves a lot to be desired. But the mid range pickup and top end is greatly improved. I don't imagine you'll be below 3K RPMS much in that car so it shouldn't really effect you much. The top end gains will be worth it in your application.
It sounds like you don’t necessarily need the harness quite yet, so it makes sense to not have to buy more harnesses. The throttle response down low is definitely on my mind, but like you said, this thin should be spending most of its time well above that.
I just received my skunk2 manifold and noticed that there is a smaller coolant port next to the larger one on the distributor side. The GSR manifold doesn't have the second smaller one. Did you just cap it off, or did you use it? Great video, and hope to hear from you. Thanks!!
Hey man, very informative vid. I came across a similar tps reading on my sons b20 vtec with skunk 2 IM and aftermarket TB. After trying to adjust the Tps for a good while, i pulled the tb off, removed the tps and compared the slot location that the tps sits in. I had to loosen the screw that holds the tps plate and adjust to same level/setting as stock unit, tighten that screw and reinstalled everything back. That fixed the 1volt minimum and 5volt max I was getting back to .5 to 4.5 volt W.O.T. Maybe this can help someone else having a similar problem.
What made you decide to go with the Alpha Throttle Body (70mm) over the Pro series and what intake did you use? I heard you have to use an ITR short ram or cold air intake (AEM) Since the GSR will not work anymore. Is this true? If not, does the GSR AEM intake (short ram or cold air) still work? Thanks!
Purely cost! With this being a track car, the billet pro-series was simply just for bling points and that’s why I went with the Alpha. Yes, you’re correct about the intake. The stock GSR intake manifold sits really low so of course the intake is designed specifically for that. The new S2 intake manifold places the throttle body at a much higher location which requires you to have to modify your current intake or get a new one.
What did you do to the Valve, Purge Control Solenoid hose that went to the stock manifold? The skunk 2 manifold has two coolant port on the bottom from the passenger side. What goes into the smaller port? How did you reinstall the vacuum tank?
You know you don't need the car on to calibrate the TPS? You just have to hook two of the wires Red and the middle on to a multi meter and set it to ohms. You can use the stock on and get the reading from that and set the new to the same setting. This way you don't have to cut/spice in to the wires.
Would I recommend? mmm... Probably not. The price of the parts plus the tune wouldn't net you enough HP to make it worth it. When you start building the internals, then yes.
Oh my gosh that’s exactly what happened to my TPS… guess what I found out after hour and hours of banging my head on the wall. The TPS from the auto stores are sh*t. I could turn my enough to get the right voltage like it was made wrong. I went with my open one… perfect!
Went with OEM one… I’m telling you I spent sooooooo much time trying to get the voltage correct… just wasn’t happening. I took it apart so many times and thought I didn’t have it lined up right because it wouldn’t rotate enough for the right voltages… OEM FOR WIN
Great channel subscribed from the start. Good no-nonsense content and perfectly applicable for my own b18 swap eg trackhack that I've started building in December. Videos on harness install, rollcenter adjusters and small things like detent springs really make a difference. What is your take on power steering? Im not sure on a delete or keeping it, can you help me decide? Cant wait for more content keep it up!!
Keep power steering if you’d like! I don’t think there’s a wrong or right answer here. If you track the car regularly and you’ve got a wiiiiide front setup, I’m sure power steering would be really nice. I don’t think it robs enough horsepower to consider removing it.
As always man great content and can’t wait for more, keep up the awesome work.
Thanks man! 🙏🏼

Quality video man! Nicely done
Thank you!

I capped it off!
that's what happen to me too last September when i did the manifold also. couple hours in, just to find out i needed extended studs
Yeah, rookie move on our part lol
I watched a couple of videos they’re great! Much love from lake county
Thank you!

Yup! Same crap I dealt with. Glad you got it figured out on your end too!

Great video !! I'm stuck with the routing of the coolant lines on this set up Wondering if you could help out
Sure thing! DM me on IG so it’ll be easier to communicate. @bv.speed
Vacuum coolant filler is what you want man. Gets rid of the bubbles 100% no bs and without having to run the engine
I’ll probably invest in one in the future. Until then, I’ll let her idle lol
@@bvspeed theyre not super expensive, and it can be done on any car. If you ever get bubbles that wont come out you know what to get!

All of the emissions related components were removed and capped off at the manifold. I believe the smaller coolant port goes to the throttle body.
@@bvspeed okay thanks for the info’s, really helpful.
No problem!
I have the same throttle body. Is it supposed to be making that hissing sound even with an air intake on?
Yessir!!
@@bvspeed thanks boss; I was freaking out thinking I had a leak👌🏽🥲
I use neptune RTP with tunerview as my primary dash.... remember to calibrate your tuning software to new tps voltage ...love the channel
Do you use the standalone Tunerview dash or a tablet? Thanks for watching!
@@bvspeed I use a tablet with tunerview installed ..no issues ..chk my IG @wakanda.honda I got pics up brother
Great content man. Your in Chicago? I thought you were in Cali or something ever since I started watching your videos😅
Haha, yup! I wish I was in Cali though!
Nice vid. How would you mount the EVAP Purge Solenoid valve? I have the same manifold but dont see any mounting points for the EVAP.
I completely removed it since my car is strictly a track application. The next time I look, I can try to find out.
What tuning program is that or what is that tablet thing exactly if you can get back to me thank you
Hey! The tuning software is Honda Tuning Suite which is 100% free! The tablet is a simple Samsung Tab A. Hope that helps!
why are all the throttle bodies i found for manual trans only? im new to the whole 4cylinder game...
I believe it’s because the automatic transmission will use a secondary throttle cable for cruise control.
@@bvspeed interesting... so could i put it on the car and sacrifice cruise control? or will it just flat out not work?
I’m honestly not too sure. If all of the internal ports are the same as a manual then I’d assume it’d work. Best to call the manufacturer and ask!

Yup! Well aware of that option as well. Good way to do it as long as you haven’t already removed the TPS lol
Wound you recommend this setup on a stock daily B18C1?
Would I recommend? mmm... Probably not. The price of the parts plus the tune wouldn't net you enough HP to make it worth it. When you start building the internals, then yes.
@@bvspeedit looks so good with the new mod! Lol
a dremel (make a slot) and a flat head get the tps off pretty easy.
That’s what I actually did. I don’t know why I considered drilling it out. Haha

Yeah, that aftermarket stuff can really have you scratching your head from time to time!
Where did you order you cable bracket and what throttle cable did you get
The throttle cable bracket was from Amazon surprisingly lol The cable is from a GSR.

Also, thank you for the kind words!
Hi, great video. How much can I gain from this upgrade? Ty
Thank you! I’d guess-timate a few horsepower with a proper tune! My car made 174hp/131tq
best video i made the same dash in my Honda
Awesome! Thanks for watching!
Would those reading on the TPS be the same for a D16?
Yes! Not just B and D series. Basically a majority of cars out there will be calibrated exactly the same.
Subbed after watching your ecu chipping video, good stuff. What kind of antifreeze are you using?
Thanks for watching! I just used some extra stuff my friend had lying around. He’s a Lexus Technician, so I used his extra Toyota/Lexus coolant.
Much love from Dubai
Awesome! Thanks brotha!
Perfect 👍👍👍
Thank you!
So no one on TH-cam wanna show how they got those intake manifold lower bolts off?
Haha, they are a pain in the ass indeed. You can gain access to some of them from under the car. The rest, you just have to get creative with.
🔥🔥🔥
Looks nice
Thank you!
