Been watching for a while. Spend as much time as possible with the kids, they're only babies once. Also, call and check on family members, especially if they're in the hospital.
Peope dont realize how much has change since the 2000s. Im in my 40s and i remmeber back in 95-2008 tuning was different and every whp made people would think its badass. During my 20s i remembered any integra or Honda civic, with lsvtec or b20v making 195-210whp was the shit. And this is 20 plus years ago. Now days since 2015 to present. Even nonvtec builds budget can see 200whpnwith fuel and tuning tools. My current setup is a b20b 10.3cr using ultrade street manifold slightly ported 70mm tb with 403 cams, toda style header and on e85 i made 193/151tq. I believe i need a little more tweaking or change in a part and retune would net me 200whp or a better tuner like Hunter tune would make it.....sometimes people tune they just dont want to spend exta time to fine tune.
Family first 100%!! I like that you do one mod and test. I find too many folks just add all the mods at once and can't figure where their power is slipping..
Good Numbers! Not sure if it is still available but I used to use portflow inner valve springs with the stock outer springs and their titanium retainers and set rev limit to 9K and it worked good. It was a low budget alternative to buying a complete set of springs and retainers.
Thanks for getting my small order out quickly even with everything going on, man. The injector mounts “were” super tight on the manifold like you have there..I just skewered ‘em up on a little handle and spun them in some sandpaper between thumb and fingers (hand lathe, lol) used a smaller green or ring from an a/c assortment, and they are golden!
I want a old hatchback for fun, before I bought my truck (knew 100% I needed another truck not car) but for fun I was looking around for these and the gti’s* but couldn’t even find any! Great video man! Good stuff
Awesome testing/results. I like the direct swap but i also think it would be fair to optimize the tune and see what that yields. I bet with the springs, damper and optimized tune we could see 220. Just think those are good gains NA, then if that car gets a turbo it should make great power per boost level.
204 out of a stock gsr in a hatch will be so much fun tho. I used to have a heavy ass cobalt that made 205 when i first got it and it was still fun then
It's not to hard to do them with the head on. Get a cheap psi tester and remove the guage part. Hook up to air compressor and blow air in and it holds the valves up. It's stronger than you think. I put about 20lbs of pressure on a valve and it didn't move down just to test. I changed my valve seals like that lol
Love the content...please install a 3" exhaust and see how much more you can get with it. Cant agree with a all motor honda liking back pressure. Valvesprings made 10whp on a k24 with Humble Performance tuning and stock cams.
Most idle issues on pre 95 Honda's are due to vibration.. the fast idle valves have a plastic plunger that threads into fine thread aluminum housing. Over time they vibrate themselves loose and people start throwing money at iac valves And throttle body's. Mainly because when you try to remove fast idle plates the tiny hex/Phillips head screws break because that was the one flaw with the fast idle iac pre 96 cars. For b series at least. My buddy just got a hatch with usdm gsr bottom and JDM b18c head. It's a different animal compared to a full usdm gsr head.
There is a channel on youtube called ProjectFarm, and he does these crazy in-depth tests on tools, and he recently did one on jump starters. That gooloo gp4000 was almost as good as Nocos thrice the price. Fantastic little jump pack, I use it all the time on my small engine job to jump mowers, lol.
Use a leak down tester to hold the valves up while replacing the springs. The compressed air will hold the valves up as long as the piston rings and valves are in good shape which based off the video I'm assuming they are.
Been a long time since I watched a video! Love you Hunter! How would you tell type s cams from normal h22 cams? I have a f20b and believe they came with type s cams?
I have a Honda question for you I have a delsol with a d16y8 and putting a switch panel in it. The issue I'm having is I heard you have to wire in the injectors and two to the ECU and the dizzy. What wires should I wire in
B and H series needs back pressure to make power... My uncle told me that back in the day... K series it doesn't matter bigger exhaust more power for the k
Great video for the science. Did you ever get that cheap ebay twin disc clutch for the k series? If so, can you do a video of dyno run for us broke guys before we spent money on it? Thanks Huntertuned.
Do you think slapping on b16 head and b16 trans make a big difference and power gain? Doing a poormans type r build with type r cams and b16 trans wondering if it will break the 200 mark or make more
This is off stock ecu, stock ecu is doing all of the air fuel ratio? I just bought skunk2 tuner stage 3 cams, I’m waiting for my springs and retainers.
Hunter i was thinking to get some type R cams for a turbo lsv do you think its worth it i got valve springs and retainers already or just get those stage 2 for skun2 its better
were these ctr or itr cams? or they the same from ctr to itr? to my understanding the intake cam for the ctr has higher durations then the itr. just curious to which u used.
What Turbo would you recommend for a 400/450 D16Z6 CSS CP 9:0:1 Comp, 2.5" Exh 2" Int piping, Skunk IM/TB and Cam Currently got a "Maxspeedingrods GT2871 T25/T28 .63 AR which i used last year to get around 230 from my Z6 but im not sure if that'll get me in the 350 range i know plenty of turbo's will get me 400+ but im looking for a nice powerband.. if possible 4000- ish spool. i see most Big Turbos spool @ 5.5/6+ since you've done countless of D16 Dynos i'd hope you could help me out (: love these type off vids btw ^^
@@schafer240 i should be on the road again in like 3 months or so, but with the current setup im guessing low, maybe mid 300s. thats why im asking for suggestions...
Fluidampr is way better for harmonics. I have a lsvtec with stg 3 cams. Before I pulley swapped to fluidampr from ati, I had every body panel vibrating. After swap the lope is so subtle that vibration is almost non existent
The viscous pulleys always save your bearings.. rod and main bearings, it's an investment in reliability. I have two alternator only fluidampr race pulleys. Both were over 450$ but it's a time proven investment into savings..
It made 165 with stock intake manifold and header back exhaust. I also recently went down to Madison and used another shops dyno jet to compare to my dyno and show its accuracy.

nice sweatshirt and these are my favorite as i think most people love it also, nothing like seeing what actually matters

and yes those are integra type r cams based off those grooves
Family first 100%!! I like that you do one mod and test. I find too many folks just add all the mods at once and can't figure where their power is slipping..
Yes continue on with the step by step dyno's part by part this is awesome!!!
Its easy to replace valve springs with head on. Just do the rope in the spark plug hole trick, to keep the valve up
New skool don’t kno bout that !!!

Was this only for exhaust side? For inner springs?
@@jayn3174 We used the Portflow inners for both Intake and Exhaust with the ITR outers topped with the Portflow retainers.
Great video! Love to see the valve spring video. The blabbing is necessary in a huntertuned video!! Keep pushing!!

love these comparison videos
Springs and retainers up next? 10k rpm is really fun.
Ready for some 1500cc injectors and possibly a 6262 turbo always like the tuning knowledge keep it up help me learn a lil more every time
Yessss some good ole huntertuned
Cool video. Love oem b series. I have a b16a2 with 2000 CTR cams and yea it was an obvious change.

Finishing upJDM type r motor leaving the type r cams in for boost
My first modification in my old UK EF B16 was ITR cams, it was night and day difference, mid range improvements and no tuning.
Buy the HPT valve spring compressor tool. It’s awesome!

Im trying to find a transmission for my lsv for my 4 door haven't had no luck yet
Just imagine if you upgrade pistons damn that would make even more 💥💥💯
Shoot some compressed air in the cylinder to change valve springs best way to do it so you don’t have to remove head
I think a giveaway would be awesome. Love your videos.
I’d really like to see the results from the spring upgrade, and how high it can be reved before power rolls off
Nice! I went with Skunk2 tuner stage 1 cams in my GSR
should do some b17 cams now, i have some sitting in my room and have always wondered if they are better than the b16 and gsr cams

I wonder how much of a difference the cams would have made if you still had the factory intake manifold on
I'd like to see power difference on headers
Please do many giveaways ❤

can you do type r intake cam and gsr exhaust ive heard that is the best combo
Dope as hell man I wonder if a better header would help any. I've seen some quick all motor setups with the same header you have on there already.
Those are 95-00 JDM itr/ 97-99 us itr camshafts
Great video, Gracias Valve springs and retainers next. And then turbo, 👍
Do you think you'd gain power across the board by dialing in the tune for these cams specially and replacing the valve springs?
I have a 97 Integra GSR. Would a B16 transmission better, or would a lightweight flywheel with stock GSR transmission be better?
Wasn't the jdm gsr 178 hp stock? Crank hp, I believe.

How much do you think i could make with type R dc2 cams on a b20vtec? I'm gonna use p30 pistons which should give me around 12cr
any word on 1000 cc injectors?

I would like to see the valve spring video as well. Keep up the good work hunter!
Type r cams would be sweet but people ask like $400+ for the cams
97-99 usdm itr cams
They look like 95-00 JDM ITR or 97-99 USDM ITR. Probably JDM because only 1300ish USDM cars for those years
Thanks for getting back to your customers and long time fans 👎👎👎
