  • We walk you through the 5.3 LS install into Travis' '99 Tahoe. This video will explain what parts we used (LIST BELOW), the main steps we took and the outcome. It is almost like these trucks were made specifically to LS swap as it is fairly easy to do and fit well.

    The wiring part is the hardest part, I will be afraid to attempt it. For a guy like me an old small block will have to suffice, but you never know. Great video.

    Also the schoenfeld long tubes designed for these trucks fit perfect and don’t hang down below the frame rail. Clears perfect on my bagged ls swapped 89

    Gonna definitely be calling you guys in about 2 to 3 months. I've got a 90 obs c1500 . Putting in a 6.0 ls with 20,000 miles on it. So definitely gonna call you guys or maybe even drive from Cali to see you. Thanks for the video. Tons of help!!!

      I’ve got a 91 C1500 that’s still got the original 350 EFI that’s got over 338,000 on it. I’ve gotta do some front end work and finish cleaning up the exterior, I’m gonna get a paint job done and think about doing a swap.

    Beautiful!...clean and fast!...4 months aint bad its gonna take me a couple of years to get my 82 gbody completed but I'm in no rush I want it clean just like this jnstall...great job!

    I watched lots of videos and this is the most cleanest swap never seen before you guys inspired me after lots of mistakes i did trying to fix my big block on my 74 c10 stepside and finally gave up last year and now im been preparing for my swap i bought a 5.3 and 4l60 transmission samething i will put a dakota digital and coilovers suspension i think i can do it

    Looks incredible. Did a 2wd 94 Chevy SSB PU LS3 Erod swap here in CA 2 years ago for a customer. It's a hell of a sleeper. Liked that LS3 so much, I put one in my FJ62 Landcruiser.

      @@shiven420 at least 15 if a shop does it especially Cali prices. We get junkyard Ls dirt cheap here on the east coast 5-10 doing it here yourself. I have a 95 2d 4wd loaded with leather I want 2 put a 6.0L lq4 or 9. I just don't have anywhere to do it?😒

    I had a trans plug similar to, that. I popped the u joint out of the driveshaft & the yoke & I just used the yoke verses cutting a good drive shaft.

    4 Months is good! I work all week so I'm only able to do shit on the weekends. I estimated 8 months it'll take to me pull an LQ4 from an 02 denali and rebuild motor,trans, and transfer case.

    If your doner has anywhere near 100k+ I'd go ahead and do rear main as well while it's out. Timing cover seal and etc usually don't go bad as soon but they're easier to change in the vehicle than the rear main obviously.
