It makes me happy to see someone saving and restoring one of these trucks. I love the 88 to 94 interiors and I had a 92 Cheyenne. It had the grey interior, but I didn't care for it. So I swapped out all the grey parts and replaced them with blue ones from another Cheyenne I had before. The only thing I couldn't swap was the main dash piece. Too many wires. Unfortunately the frame ended up rotting out on the truck and I could no longer drive it. I did however keep all the blue pieces I put in it because like you said...they are very hard to find. Especially the bench seat I have. It's Different from that one you got. It's the blue tweed style (the one that always has a tear on the drivers side) But that bench Is now a ''couch'' in my room haha...Sorry for the long comment. Had to tell my story.
Just bought a 94' SL model, but mine is in all red haha, it's a bit of a beater right now but watching your video has given me a lot of confidence in being able to restore mine up to look just as good as yours with the right work put in! Thanks for the video its much appreciated!!!
Tengo una duda quien realizó el trabajo del tapiz del asiento delantero, o si se.compro directamente con algún proveedor me interesaría que me pudieras pasar el contacto slaudos
I had blue interior in my 93 1500 sidestep extended cab, no rust anywhere, perfect condition, crashed it recently and im devastated it was such a beautiful classic
Thank you for all the detail and for not skipping anything! Even showing the "boring" unscrewing of a bolt, it's so nice that you at least show it and speed up the video. Very helpful!
About to tackle restoring my father in law’s 98 after he passed as a tribute. With some custom door sills I think. His truck was such an identifying part of who he was and I can’t wait to start. These videos will help a ton. Thank you 🙏
You are absolutely right. Interior parts for these trucks are very scarce. I have a 1990 Chevy with the Scottsdale trim (mid level), and broke the rear cab trim piece that goes over the rear windshield, because I didn't remove it in the correct order. It took me many months of waiting and searching local salvage yards before I found an older GMT400 truck, that was a) single cab - extended cabs are more common; b) the right trim level (base-model trucks are more common, and don't have the plastic trim in the rear of the cab; and c) had the right pieces, that were not broken. They are a different color, but at least they are intact.
Great video! I bought my son a 93 Chev S10 with an original 52,000 miles on it, and we just bought a 93 Chev Cheyenne k1500 manual. He was in an accident with the S10, so I ended up buying a 93 Chev S10 blazer for $500, for the fender and front bumper. I keep robbing it for parts for the two other trucks. Glad I have it. Just redid the headliner in the k1500. Glad his floor is rubber since in Montana we get a fair amount of snow. The wiper relay is acting up which is a problem with these models so now fixing it. These are great trucks and you are doing excellent videos! Good job!
🤩 me gusta mucho la restauración que hacen. Me emocionan mucho estas camionetas. Tengo una que esta original 1993, le faltan algunos accesorios, que poco los voy consiguiendo
Great instruction video as always. Thank you for that! Do you also have a part number for new seat belts? Ich searched on the internet and couldn' find one.
Where did you get the replacement seat? I know it isn’t new but we are having issues tracking a good one down. My dad has a 92 with a 60/40 split bench and wants to replace his and just can’t find the original material like the one you installed. His is maroon but the same design. Great content, keep it up. Catch you on the flip flop.
Where did you find the seat? I have a 1992 Silverado im wantibg to restore, its my daily but my uncle bought it new in 1992 amd he passed and my cousin gave it to me. I want to repaint the factory smoke blue and summit white and also i found some wheels, possibly 454 SS wheels i bought for it. I think the wheels were an option as well, but i need a new dash, mine is cracked. These hot Arkansas summers dried it out over the past 32 years. Tomorrow im converting the AC from r12 to 134a. Hopefully itll work!
Have same truck truck, but stepside, white w/red interior. Interior is like new, but don't like red colored interiors, going to swap it with black interior.
@Mtnman Deluxe We bought several parts from Classic Industries and LMC. Their stuff is pretty hit and miss, some of it decent and some of it is garbage.
@@SuburbanRanch Thank you for your response. It would seem easier to fit with a separate insulation first installed then a carpet without the backing? Would you go that route next time? Mine has had the carpet gutted already by the past owner.
I'm sure there's a good answer, but here's a serious question: Why more carpet? Would it not be kind of an upgrade to put in some sort of heavy duty insulated rubber flooring or something?
The last of the well built Chevy trucks which went to 1994. This is not the interior of the c1500 from 95 on up. This is where Chevrolet started going the wrong direction. In 1995 they changed the interior which had problems with window mothers, AC controls and the Badly designed interior door handles that constantly break.
I have a question about who did the work on the front seat upholstery, or if it was purchased directly from a supplier, I would be interested if you could contact me, best regards.
I watched your video, but was a little disappointed when I saw you putting it back together, without washing/cleaning the plastic components. Would have been easy to do.
I’m actually going to do this with my 1988 Silverado. I’m changing the door panels, carpet, molding, and some of the dash that has cracks in it. I’m doing the opposite with the seats though, I found bucket seats like you originally had and a reupholster place is doing them in leather for me. I also LS swapped and put in a 4L80e so that’s a big difference.
I have a 1990 Chevy Cheyenne 4x4 I’m Redoing it it has a new motor everything underneath the hood is new,, hole new front end and rearend and breaks and interior besides the seat I’ve searched high and low to get original parts off other truck that’s still good just clean them and painted them with por-15
i’ve also been wanting to redo my interior on my 98 and have been looking for the seats like the ones you took out, what model do that kind of seat come from? and does anyone know if the bolt patterns all like up even with the 40/60 seats like that?

Using a bench seat as a couch is the coolest thing I’ve ever heard. That’s awesome!

I could watch videos about about new carpet in cars all day long! Very satisfying. Nice work

Great video, would like to see you guys do a video on replacing the headliner and upholstery .

Awesome video, I have a 1993 full size Blazer that I am restoring and will definitely use the tops here from the interior work. Thanks!
Great video quality, great narration, and great detail. Oh, and as a former Iowan my ears perked right up when you mentioned Williamsburg!
Thanks for the video; it's exceptional compared to all others. I like how you present the details and the speed that you do so. Thank you.
Someone must maintain their vehicle very well if you live in Iowa and have no rust. Looks good like the videos man. Keep up good the good work.
I have a clean 93 k1500 with super clean interior
Thank you. Needed to figure out how to remove door sill.
well done , that looks good, those old trucks were built LIKE A ROCK!!! I , still drive my 91 GMC standard cab short box.
Nice tutorial, im not sure why you would but that uncomfortable prefacelift seat back in though
LMC Truck has alot of it as well.
I have a 92 silverado regular cab. That may look good without the back cab carpet? But great job.
Thanks for a great video, well thought out and very informative!
Mine is a 93 Cheyenne with blue interior 🔥❤️

The latches are the old latches, we had the belts replaced and mechanism gone through by www.safetyrestore.com

Picked it up at a junk yard in Des Moines, IA. There is a guy on instagram that posts used seats pretty often (squarebodymike).
If you take a torch to the plastic really quick it will go back to original color

Try Classic Industries and LMC. They dont carry everything,,but they have a huge array of old parts,,interior and otherwise
@Mtnman Deluxe We bought several parts from Classic Industries and LMC. Their stuff is pretty hit and miss, some of it decent and some of it is garbage.
No additional sound deadener below carpet? Tells me about the journey I am about to partake on my 94, thanks for your efforts.
@Xombi Xombi The carpet has a mass backing, looks like a rubberized coating
@@SuburbanRanch Thank you for your response. It would seem easier to fit with a separate insulation first installed then a carpet without the backing?
Would you go that route next time?
Mine has had the carpet gutted already by the past owner.
@Xombi Xombi I would recommend the mass backing. It gives the carpet a good shape.
Didn’t know Chris Evans was into car restos
great video. so with the new carpet, are the holes already cut , or did you have to cut it off the template?
We had to cut all the holes using the old carpet as a template
So the carpet molds easier if its been out in the sun, you found?
Yes, It’s very stiff unless it’s hot
I'm sure there's a good answer, but here's a serious question: Why more carpet? Would it not be kind of an upgrade to put in some sort of heavy duty insulated rubber flooring or something?
I like the look and feel of carpet, but you can certainly replace with vinyl if you like it!
Great video! Where did the seat covers come from? Thanks
No need reply, came from junk yd

Sorry...i meant to ask how much was the seat, trying to get a average cost
That was an excellent video. Is that a recovered original seat you put back in?
@RANDY MYERS No we picked one up from a junkyard and had it cleaned.
I have a question about who did the work on the front seat upholstery, or if it was purchased directly from a supplier, I would be interested if you could contact me, best regards.
The seat was picked out of a junk yard. That is an original seat only thing done to it was cleaning. Hope that helps.
👍👌
Where did you get the carpet for the kick panel. Also what specific color carpet is that
OC Auto Carpets. 7766 Blue was the color that I ordered.
Great install!
How much was it to have the seatbelts redone? Approximately.
It was about $500
@@SuburbanRanch Thanks
Replace all bulbs with LEDs.
Do you still have the seat and how much do you want for it been looking for one of those
Sorry, it’s been taken already.
I wish I had of seen this before I took mine apart, broke the 4x4 plastic all to hell
I hate when that happens. Interior parts can be so fragile!
Quick question, did u get original oem backing on the carpet, or did u get the mass backing carpet?
I got the mass backing carpet
I feel like the carpet is the easiest thing on the truck interior lol
HE PUT THE SEAT IN BEFORE THE PLASTIC UNDER THE BACK WINDOW
How long did they take to send your belts back? I sent mine out and haven’t gotten them back yet
@jdm velaz Took a couple of weeks total.
I need to find dash board for my 88 chevy k2500
@Julian Parrent This guy might have something. facebook.com/profile.php?id=100088707176332&mibextid=LQQJ4d
Wich blue did you go with? I see there's 3 options on the website
@U W The color code was 7766
@@SuburbanRanch awesome thank u! Great video by the way really enjoy your content
I need help with my 91 cheyenne.
I did something like this
"LMC truck" has all the parts you could ever need for restoring older trucks
We're can I get a new bench seat
@Raemarie Sinzun You can’t get a new one, junk yard is your best bet at finding a decent one
What’s the head board and the plastic panels
Can that place that did your seat belts fix the retractor? My passenger side won't let go or retract.
@Nonameisthename 1 I would think so. Send them a message and ask
@@SuburbanRanch
I already did, just waiting for a reply. Thanks

@Randall Gress We did clean it!
Excuse me, you still have it the old seats?
Sorry. Someone has already got them
Anyone know where I can get a behind the seat storage for a regular cab? I don’t have one 😞
@Andres Castro Shoot we just sold one. Junkyard shopping for one is what you’ll have to do.
What year of truck was that seat from?
I believe it was a 1991
What color Blue is the carpet?
@Dave InThe626 7766 Blue was the color that I ordered.
