    After looking over their website several times while owning the 2 door 2 wheel drive tahoe, I was able to try this rear disc brake conversion for the old body style Silverado, Sierra and Tahoe. Little Shop Mfg offers so many brake upgrade options for several models of trucks and SUVs. 88-98 Silverado and Sierra have always needed rear disc brakes and in this video we show you how to install them as well as several other goodies. Along with the rear brake upgrade to disc brakes I do the front brakes, stainless lines and NBS Master Cylinder Upgrade. All of these changes to the OBS Silverado Brakes is an amazing difference in pedal feel and stopping power. To go along with that the looks are SO MUCH better. You can buy the obs Silverado or Sierra Rear Disc brake conversion alone or do what I did and opt for the entire kit. All of these parts are a pretty straight forward install and can be done over a weekend in your driveway. Little Shop Mfg makes the best and most complete brake conversion kit on the market. It comes with absolutely everything needed. Go to their website and check out all the options available. Hit the comments and let me know what you think.....

    I would just like to add this for the people, Drain your rear end, its most likely NEVER been opened since you've owned your truck, and i'm sure your axle seals and bearings are in need of service. Most people who decide on these conversions have over 100k on them so just service your rear end and replace the worn parts its only an extra 100 bucks for bearings, seals, and oil.... You can tear it apart once to do it or do it twice when you have to replace your seals and bearings, the choice is yours to make....
    One last thing, any brake fluid that spills, CLEAN IT UP, it will lift any paint it comes in contact with..
    Excellent video my friend, you include everything unlike many other videos that leave out critical steps and things..

After that will be lowering kit, brakes and wheels and tires. This kit looks awesome so I will be using it. After that work is done ill be doing a frame up build on my 65 swb. Ill probably be using this stuff on it. Thanks for the vids.

    Good video. The easier and cleaner was I bench bleed is to bolt the master cylinder to the truck and cut the ends of the plastic piece that comes with it and get some plastic pipe that goes in the master cylinder with fluid in it to see and bubbles. It’s almost like a 1 man bleeder.

    • @TWAMotorsports

    It's easier if you loosen the adjusters before you start beating on the drum. Rusted metal generally relies on vibration from the hammer strike to break free. The shoes against the drum diminishes the vibration so you have to beat it more.

    • @TWAMotorsports
      @TWAMotorsports  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for that tip

    • @scottfindlay2625
      @scottfindlay2625 ปีที่แล้ว

      you have NO ACCESS to the adjusters at all on these models you have no choice but to beat them off, one of Chevy's better engineering ideas, i mean mistakes.... You'd have to bore a 1/2 inch hole through the drum and axle flange to even see the adjusters. i have a 98 silverado and i found that if i taper the first 1/4 inch of my drum they will always slide off, its the grooved lip the shoes cause that binds the drums on. i'm going to do this conversion soon on mine.

      @@TWAMotorsports isn't hard the big oofta is that it uses a k 1500 non f44 front caliper which means no ebrake. I feel there's other options out there. For example the rx8 rear caliper is only a touch smaller and has a built in caliper and they can fit 15s in the back just gotta get the right sized rotor. Maybe they'll notice this conversion and look into it.

    A great mod that is not well known for the lowered OBS TRUCKS is the Belltech #6658 UPPER shock relocator for the rear shocks.
    Please do a video on this mod to get the word out. These OBS trucks have terrible rear shock angles. And even worse when lowered.
    That would be a good time to notch the bed brace that’s directly above the center section of the rearend.

    I watched another guy who cut off the backing plate on the rear, because he didn't want to pull the axels. I want to do a posi on mine....soooo🤷‍♂️ I thought about going bigger calipers, but I'd like to put my 15x10s back on. Changing the calipers will more than likely have me not being able to put the factory wheels back on. Anyway great video again, and I subbed..👍

    Good kit, anyone else beware that if you do one side at a time and check if your ebrake is engaging and it’s not just do the other side then check again because I pulled all the slack out of one side until it engaged fully and then couldn’t get the other side cable to reach, had to undo it and struggle for an hour to get them even again.

    I did a bunch of research into swapping my 94 Step side, LS swapped, silverado, over to big brakes.. After looking at all the kits, and feeling frustrated, I built my own.. I bought Camaro SS Brembo 4 piston front calipers off of Ebay. Then I bought NEW from O'Reilly auto parts some 14.9" rotors from a Grand Cherokee.. all in-parts were less than $500.00 The calipers say Brembo-Chevrolet in red.. The truck absolutely STOPS now when I step on the brake pedal. I now need to move on to the rear, and again I will be using the Brembo calipers off the rear of a Camaro SS.. Not sure what size rotor I will be using on the rear yet.. but I've got time to figure that out...
