I’m looking for a pair of mics to record outdoor, ambient, environment sound. I had decided to get the Rode NT5 matched pair. How would the 120’s stack up and how suited would they be for that kind of recording. Right now I am using a cheap Zoom H1n. Anything is an upgrade but I also want to use something suited to the task.

I had bought the LA 320 based off all the reviews. When i tried it out it was waaaayyyyy too sibilant on my voice. The "s" sounds and "t" sounds were sharp. Sent it back and bought the wa 251. The 251 is way better. Wasn't impressed with the Launten mic.

Is there any difference between the v1 and V2 besides the esthetics?

@James Williams the capsule for the 220 and 320 has been slightly tweaked and the body materials are higher quality. To my ears they are both a bit punchier, more open and a hair smoother in the high end. Hope this helps
