Love what Lauten is doing. Need to get my hands on some of their stuff at some point. Seems like they’ve got some good people working there. Easy group to root for.
I always appreciate the glimpses you give us “behind the curtain” regarding certain companies and how your whole process works. Best of luck moving that shack…Still say you should move up here!
Bark, you're just pumpin' these out man! I liked the low pass; sounded better to me.... i dunno. Wasn't loving it stock with no "help", but its very detailed. The rejection wasn't the best, but wasn't terrible. I will say if you cut like 3db at 2k it sounds REALLY good, like SO much better. LOL thanks much for the shout out, really appreciate it. Keep killin it man!
+1 on your assessment, Bark. Nice all-arounder. Lauten is SMART to include that infographic showing you their recommendations as to what filters to apply based on what you are recording. Great idea! I like how you snuck in a comment about the MK4. Really nice sounding mic as well that needs more love.
Haven't heard the D421 for quite a while - it sounds good on you. The Lauten is really good, it has a bit of V-shape to my hearing, like you said with rich top-end and recessed mids, and... I kinda like it, though it wouldn't be my favourite on your voice. I think it may suit nasal voices like mine quite a lot though - based on experience on EM89D vs some other (of course way cheaper) mics. As for supporting you - I'd encourage people to check, cause for me TH-cam added the lower tier (which is in US $1.99 I think?) recently, and it is region-adjusted so maybe YOU can pay less than the direct conversion, and support Bark on his dream journey, getting some perks along the way. Have a great and smooth move Bark!
I've had this microphone for about a year, I'm recording Vocals, Guitars and Ukulele mainly and I'm very happy with it, it was a nice upgrade from my simple AKG condenser mic I was using before.
Do expensive mics come with a set of list sound source instructions? Any sound engineer would already know wow to use use those. No need to waste them on a piece of paper. Edit: The more I listen, the more I realise, this is more of of musical mic than it is a podcast mic.So no plosives and of axis-rejection,, and handling noise would only hurt this mic. So I am glad you did not do those! :)
I'm glad they are better today. Always here if you need a chat Dale.... Here as in anywhere you wanna contact me lol.... Not necessarily a youtube thread lol
I bought one from their B stock for 250. But I'm not sure why they put it in B stock. The box was still wrapped in cellophane (meaning it's never been opened) and everything was flawless. I think they accidentally sold me a new one lol. I better send it back and report the error! (kidding)
@@ObscureMics No worries whatsoever I just want folks to understand that if they get the V1 cheap on the used market it's very nearly as good. The V2 according to company when I reached out to them, has just a more open sound.

100% - down to earth folks
Lauten Audio doesn't mess around. Fantastic company and has brought out some incredible mics and other gear. I really like how this mic sounds.
Absolutely a good one

Always man. That's what we are here for.
I think this is the best review of the Lauten LA220 on the internet and I had this mic for years and agree with your assessment 100%
Much appreciated!

I really enjoy the mk4...was one of the first mics i bought after seeing Bandrews video of it about 5 years ago
Beautiful Mic. Lauten Audio do incredible Mics as pro as anyone out there. Quality Stuff.
100%
Very bright in flat mode. I agree that it's more of an all-arounder than a specifically vocal mic.
Good luck with the move. I dread that day. I can see that mic a a good option for a lot of people. 👍
I am super dreading it....I have 26 days to get this studio building moved ....
Lauten makes some damn good mics in a really competitive price range.
They absolutely do
Loved this Lauten is just awesome. Thanks for the content Bark!
Always Vinny!

Hope the best for you and will drop a prayer in the Big Dude's ear 4 U. Any follower of Bark's is a friend of mine.
Sounds ok to me ears. But i reckon it’s not a good match for my vo-cabs.
So what would be your top picks for vocal around this price point? Thanks.
I am a really big fan of the Sennheiser MK4, sE 2200, and the rode nt1000 in this price range
Whacko. What a find. Did you get it from San Jose?
The Lauten?

When are you gonna try the sE RNR1 ???
