Bought myself this watch yesterday on February 18, 2023 knowing that it comes from a brand which is overshadowed by a larger-than-life brand. Don’t feel embarrassed to admit that I cannot afford a Rolex today but this watch has quality and character. Hope that this watch lasts me forever or maybe one day I can pass it to my son
And as a postscript, I bought this watch because of this video. Best GMT I've ever owned, and I get more compliments than I ever did with my 16610LV. I always felt apologetic for wearing the sub, and half-feeling like people thought the Rolex was a fake. This watch I feel wonderful about, and don't care what people think - It's part of you and your character.
This is one of my favorite timepieces. I do not mind the thickness of the case, maybe that’s because I also wear a Seadweller. I honestly do not think about it. It is a quality timepiece and I have had zero issues. It looks good in jeans or a tux. I like the GMT feature along with the 200m of water resistance. That makes it a perfect travel watch. Try one on before make a decision solely on what people say on the internet. Just my opinion.
Today is my first month with the Tudor BB GMT on my wrist and I'm really delighted with this watch, good looking, extremely accurate, solid, robust and sits perfectly on my 7'2 inch wrist. Awesome watch. Great video and many thanks for sharing.
I've watched this video several times because of its excellent production value, excellent advice and is simply inspirational. Not to mention all the excellent knowledge of horology.

Got mine a couple of months ago and love the watch. It has become my evening and weekend watch of choice. My Pelagos is my work day watch, for different reasons, but the GMT is great for everywhere else I go.
Excellent review. I recently received a Tudor BBGMT as a gift. I am blown away by the functionality, beauty, quality and robustness in this GMT watch for what it costs! The value is undeniable. I am at an age now where I really no longer care what anyone thinks of me or my possessions. I adhere to the idea that if I'm wearing something, it is cool by default and it becomes cool if it wasn't before. I'm wearing this watch every day and I have to force myself to put on a different watch for formal occassions.
I see a lot of folk complaining about the size, which had almost put me off until I tried it on. It wears just fine on a 7 1/2 inch wrist. Very attractive price if you can get it duty free.
@RJ, I too have a 7.5 inch wrist and think it looks perfectly proportional and I find the BB58 just too small for my wrist. I picked up the 79830rb a few months ago and could not be more pleased. When worn, as opposed to being on winder, it is within 1 second/day. Outstanding!

This video is bloody brilliant . Excellently well done mate ! Been looking at this watch for the last few weeks now . Really want to get into the Tudor brand and have settled towards this! I do like the BB 58 and the new bb41 burgundy with the metas certification but the lack of a date complication may very well disappoint me the more I look down to check the date only to find nothing there !
I’m a big man; 6’ 3” 300#...all perfectly proportioned, of course. THIS watch works great for me. And if I don’t like it, I can always use it for a snack!
This is a standout review - beautifully written and superbly spoken it’s the best review of any watch I have watched on TH-cam; I have a Rolex GMT Master II which I bought new in 2000 (all black bezel) and now I will buy one of these Tudors since you have made me aware they have the genuine GMT local hour jump feature just like my Rolex! You are right about that too - the whole point is to keep home time on the 24 hour reference so you instantly know if it is night or day back home - being able to only jump the 24 hour hand is useless, keep up the fabulous work
I've had my S&G Rootbeer for about 5 weeks. It's my new favorite watch. It looks much better in person. The matte gold against the steel is subtle and perfectly elegant and sporty. The colors blend nicely with the cream colored markers. This color combination softens the black dial and bridges with the rootbeer color on the bezel. The weight and proportions are excellent and it wears comfortably. The S&G is more expensive than the steel or the steel on leather but the steel version is equally gorgeous. Highly recommend checking out the 41mm version. My others are (nothing super special) 3 Oris, 2 Hamiltons, 3 Japanese Automatic Seikos, 3 Raymond Weils and 1 Mont Blanc.

Great video. I have one and it’s a magnificent and stylish watch. I bought it in bracelet but bought a nice saddle leather strap and Tudor clasp and it even looks great on a crafter blue navy/red rubber strap. Super versatile watch. Dress it up, dress it down. Perfect
Bought mine at Harrod’s London a year ago and love it! I wanted the bracelet however they only had two left, the leather strap and the NATO. I went with the leather.
Great review! Thanks for that explanation about going backward 7 hours - I've used similar examples to argue against people who tout the "caller GMT" as the better design. Also: the main problem with "caller GMTs" is the user experience - a GMT watch should be able to adjust time forward AND backward, and the caller GMT moves the GMT hand and date in one direction only; also the date shouldn't be changed between 9pm and 3am on Caller GMTs which is a ridiculous restriction on a GMT watch; plus it's not good for the watch to adjust time backward over midnight because it might break the date.
Had this watch 5 weeks and it has taken the place of my Breitling Crosswind 43mm as my favourite watch can’t see me selling it love the size you know you’re wearing quality with this GMT
Great Video! I wear this daily for work and just love it! I have both the Rolex Pepsi and the Tudor Diet Pepsi. There is a significant difference between the two and for me at least, one can never take the place of the other. I love the Tudors vintage look and modern feel combination. The thickness isn’t an issue for me as I have close to an 8” wrist. Although, the watch can be on the heavy side when I put my bracelet on. Many people still complain about the date wheel, which Tudor fixed many moons ago. This watch isn’t for everyone. Those with small wrists will never appreciate it. Hopefully a GMT 58 will be released so they can join the pack. Those who dream of one day owning a Pepsi will never be satisfied.
I have both too. I have the modern (2021) Pepsi 126710 BLRO on jubilee. I think it's just a bit on the fancy (even gaudy?) side of things. The Diet Pepsi is on the massive side. They're two different watches. I have the Rolex insured for $26,000. It makes me feel a little odd walking around with the price of a car on my wrist. The Diet Pepsi I don't feel self conscious about wearing...it has a different role. I'm wondering if it's that I'm just not used to the Rolex yet (though I have had 7 others). Maybe I'll come to appreciate it more (I hope). How do you feel about the two? BTW my wrist is 7 inches and both fit fine.
@@watchman8817 The Rolex watch is worth so much, causing such a liability issue that it's almost anxiety provoking owning and wearing one. I am much more comfortable owning my Tudor watches than my Rolex submariner. When wearing the sub, I look around to see if anyone is casing me… lol
Just Purchased This Watch today! I was a little concerned about the Thickness, I tried it on my 7” Wrist and I was Very Pleased. I love the versatility and the looks of this Tudor. It’s my Third Tudor Purchase, I also have The 42mm blue dial Pelagus and Fastrider With Red dial. Love This brand.
Tried to buy a rolex GMT, couldnt so bought this INSTEAD. The Ad rang me today to ask if I was still interested in a the GMT and honestly I'm not. Took my name off the list having been on it for a year. It wears no different to my PO or SO 45 but if you've got a small wrist I get why you might not like it as much. What I dislike more is the way the Ad's try to manage supply of rolex, becoming less and less a brand for the enthusiast!! Great vid, thanks for posting
Reason One..... Back in November 2018 I was going to pull the trigger on this particular Tudor GMT watch, but due to the faulty date wheel issues at that particular time it just put me off so I ended up purchasing an Omega Seamaster 300m instead. Reason Two..... Fast forward to October 2020 I went into my local AD and looked again at the Tudor GMT model, but when I saw the indices on the dial to me they looked out of place, they looked so tiny and not to scale within the 41mm face? However when I saw the Blackbay 58 black / rose gold model everything looked in proportion and it just blew me away so I ended up walking out with it! (I just wish Tudor would make a 39mm BB58 GMT version.) Great video. Keep up the good work and stay safe!
I own and love it. I have a relatively flat 7.5" wrist, so no problems there. Yes, my date wheel has been faulty - but of course fixed under warranty. It looks alost exactly like the very first Rolex GMT, which i like. Aslo, true GMT function is the way to go. It's great that it's 200m water resistant with a screw down crown. I wear it currently on a nato in matching blue with a thin red stripe.
The only thing that looks the same as the original rolex gmt is the dial indices, the case is too big and slab sided, massive crown, riveted bracelet, date wheel problem theres so much to overcome.
Great review the videography is amazing a well polished review. 100% agree with when you say its the best value watch for the price. to my eyes its beautiful piece I've had mine for over a year now no problems what so ever. I actually prefer the Pepsi color over the rolex I feel its alot more subtle. Trust me when I say this buying this watch wasn't a compromise over a rolex or to fit a void. I purchased this watch on its own merits and genuinely fell in love with it.
I've the same issue, bought mine three weeks ago and I barely wore mine. Now I'm trying to sell it and get the BB58 blue dial which fits my wrist perfectly.
@@noahpalmieri941 I'm 6.3 inches and I've found BB GMT a bit chunky when on ss bracelet. Wears better on nato or leather strap. I've sold it and got BB58 blue dial and it wears amazing. Only thing I miss is the date functionality.
I bought one with a Q serial number.. no issues with the date wheel. It’s been over a year. I find the size to be perfect. Wish my Rolex GMT 116710LN was 41mm just like the new Submariner. Great video btw. Your voice sounds a bit like Arnold Schwarzenegger. Entertaining!
I saved up diligently to buy my grail blue bezel heritage black bay 41 until my girlfriend got diagnosed with leukaemia. This all happened during her writing of her thesis and before finding a job, so at the moment I have to cover both of us financially :/ Hopefully, she recovers and I can get the watch eventually to celebrate! The GMT is just not for me as the colours don't match with what I generally tend to wear.
Good luck my friend , I've been where you are , believe me take one day at a time and stay strong! Sending you my best wishes for a positive outcome , you'll enjoy your new watch even more
Sorry to hear this. Hopefully you can get through the situation well. Maybe Tudor will release another bezel variant in the future that will match you better.
I love my Mido GMT too! Two very different design languages though. I wish the MIDO GMT did not have PCLs. At times I don't like how flashy and shiny it is. But I love it still, just different from my Tudor GMT.
The thing is the Tudor GMT is fantastic. On paper and in reality. It's truly perfect, however it's one true negative is that it will always sit in the shadow of its older brother... It's nicknamed a poor man's Rolex... and this isn't true. But it is the perception of the brand. That's why I haven't bought it... I'd rather spend my money on other brands. Omega for example. Whereas if I truly want the Rolex SA Group product... I'll get the one that says Rolex on the dial. The only other minor negative is that it is too tall a watch, it's highlighted when you took it of the bracelet. Which is sad because I think on leather it looks the best. But where the strap joins the case... it's like a cliff face. Sad. But anyway a very well made video. I enjoyed your review. Well done and I hope to see more. Subscribed.
@@robertsullivan4773 I think that everyone is afflicted with this to some degree whether we want to admit it to ourselves or not. And I think that as humans its normal.
@@isochrono I do, and once you have both, you realize how ridiculous this is. Rolex owners that look down on Tudor owners are not the people that are going to open doors for you. If someone can only afford a Tudor, I think it is cool they bought the best watch they could afford. It's also cool when someone already has a Rolex and just wants something else they can throw on and worry less about. All that being said, a popular Rolex model will get you more attention than any other watch and you can definitely use that to your advantage in life. If that is important to you, by all means, do not compromise - save up for a Rolex (doesn't have to be the Pepsi). If it isn't, or if you already have one, consider the Tudor. If you wear more casual wear, it'll suit you better anyway.
I bought a brand new one three weeks ago and I'm trying to sell it now because I find it too thick and heavy for my wrist.. otherwise it's a gorgeous watch, super precise and absolute bang for bucks and would never take it off my wrist if it was slightly thinner or my wrist was slightly bigger.
Great video - SUB'd! I was considering this watch HARD for my first Tudor purchase. Had I seen this video first, I definitely would have gone with this watch. As it is, I went with the Tudor BB 58, 41mm Heritage for my first Tudor. I truly love this watch already and very much looking forward to my next Tudor purchase which is most likely going to be the above Tudor GMT Pepsi.
I'm growing to like it. I prefer it on a leather strap but the case finishing under the end links is disappointing. So I had a custom strap made that incoprates the end links. Perfect.
3:50 to 4:11 - wow. The writing quality is really up there. Turning the born to dare line around was smart and potent. I used to live in Singapore and recognized your accent... then I saw the beaches at 4:00 and knew it was Singapore! Congrats on this quality content, dude. As for me, the Tudor BB GMT is not for me. I don't think I'll ever be able to justify paying more than 1000 for a watch when you can invest it and return 7-10% per year in the market. The mark up is also inexcusable (cost to make vs. MSRP). I don't doubt at all the quality of these expensive watches though. Great video, please keep going. The watch community DOES need thoughtful content. You're going to grow big in no time with these type of thoughtful essays. Good luck.
No doubt about it the thing is very pretty and yes I would like one but only when they reduce the bulk. I have a BB58 Blue and love it. If they brought out a date version or even better a GMT version I would be quick to get to my AD. I have just bought a Longines Spirit 40mm in black and that is one lovely watch for very little money. Good video chap.
I wanted to like this watch! I REALLY did. Went to an AD to try it out but it's too thick, it doesn't sit on the wrist very well and is also top heavy. The snowflake hour hand also look very unappealing to me.
I just purchase the GMT can’t wait for it to arrive …. What do you think about the new Longines Spirit Zulu GMT ? Now that this is available and it’s a true GMT just like the Tudor but quite cheaper
Nice review, I have the GMT, really didn't have trouble getting one, got a discount on it and have no problems. Have a Blue Pelagos and BB58 in Blue. The Pelagos is fantastic and mt favorite watch (and can change on my mood). I have one Rolex current generation Explorer. Only watch I would like to add to my collection is a Nomos Zurich WeltZeit in Nachtblau. Oddly the grey market dealer I use for Nomos gives a hefty discount, and comes with a signed warranty card from Cyprus, I'm in the US.
I like the Zurich Weltzeit as well. Good size and good implementation of the GMT complication. Glad that you didn't have problems with getting the Black Bay GMT
I wear my Tudor gmt with no inferiority complex issues because I own two Rolex watches, Rolex is marginally better than Tudor in the area of case refinement, the movements are indistinguishable but both are certainly working men’s watches. I wear a Rolex but I don’t need any validation for it, Tudor Gmt is build like a brick, I have since bought a Tudor rubber strap reducing the bulky aesthetic. Honestly the smart money is on the Tudor, Rolex premium is a bubble for a watch that is far away from haute horology.
I bought one yesterday, I tried not to purchase but the overall aesthetic of the GMT and functionality made me pull the trigger. I don’t know how I’ll feel about the purchase, this is the only way to truly know if it’s right for me.
just received the watch. It is SOOOOOO much better than I thought, and I love how it wears. People had gotten me nervous about size, weight, thickness, poor bracelet (rivets, poor clasp) etc. But somehow .. perhaps I'm lucky ... but it fits like a charm, it wears smaller that some of the watches I love to wear. It's a fabulous piece. This one will never leave. Simply superb.
I think it's a no brainer, Tudor is a great brand, have grown into there own brand, i would own a Tudor BB GMT if my life was crossing time zones, but for now it's not. I nice review, well done
Hello from singapore! Got one of these from Cortina for my father last year andhavent had the chance to pass it on to him. In the meantime, it is in heavy rotation w a BLNR. This watch, i would dare say, is every bit as good as the batman when on the wrist.
Damn you sold me on this timepiece. I’ve had the same reservations but it’s surely a deal for what you get. Time to find an AD who has one at retail…lol
I don't see Tudor doing this. Travellers GMT movements are quite big... the Grand Seiko GMT watches are not exactly thin, neither is the Presage GMT. In addition, the Tudor has impressive water resistance. For comparison, check out the Omega PO GMT. Now that IS a big watch.
I am a watch entuziast that had many over the years, all bought from the sam dealer in NYC. I started collecting Rolex because it took my heart. I have the Hulk, the chocolate date just in everose gold with diamond hourmarkers and few others... The Pepsi I like but would never give that kind of money for it, because I already have the discontinued Hulk, but still I need and want a GMT added to my collection. I can honestly say that Tudor commands all the respect, through craftsmanship and its history and I proudly can say that I cannot wait to add it to my collection with its brown leather belt. SO YES I AM FULLY CONVINCED as I do have the collectors bug, lol. I look forward to decades ahead (God willing) where I can leave my collection to my son so that he can them as much as I have. ENJOY your timepieces all and wear them in good health...
There are reports of the Black Bay 58 having problems with the movement and as a result, the watch intermittently not working. Have there been any similar complaints with the GMT?

(I just wish Tudor would make a 39mm BB58 GMT version.)
Great video. Keep up the good work and stay safe!
Thanks for the comment. The indices do look small on occasion. But sometimes they look just right. It's kind of strange.
I wish Tudor would also get rid of those nonfunctional rivets.
The indices are follow the vintage styling. Arguably, the larger indices on the 58 is less true to form.
selling mine now for a seamaster 300 too
You won't regret it both too watches pal!
I did :) and no problem with date and I love the weight and thickness
Bought one today from an AD. Great video.
Bought it and sold it due to thickness that caused wrist roll and drag due to the slab thickness . If it was thinner it would be fantastic...
I've the same issue, bought mine three weeks ago and I barely wore mine. Now I'm trying to sell it and get the BB58 blue dial which fits my wrist perfectly.
@@omarion07 what is your wrist size? I'm about 6.4 and torn between exactly the GMT or the BB58Blue
@@noahpalmieri941 I'm 6.3 inches and I've found BB GMT a bit chunky when on ss bracelet. Wears better on nato or leather strap. I've sold it and got BB58 blue dial and it wears amazing. Only thing I miss is the date functionality.
Mine arrived at the end of July... it's great!
Nice video! I have one too and love it very much. It's indeed a watch on it's own and I do like the alu bezel finish better then the ceramic.
Well, I was having a sore throat, that's why it sounded like that. Glad you enjoyed it
I saved up diligently to buy my grail blue bezel heritage black bay 41 until my girlfriend got diagnosed with leukaemia.
How is she now? She needs all the love she can get... You do, too. God bless both of you.
Such a great watch!! When you can’t see the movement who the heck cares about the movement finish?!? Great video
Totally agree.
Mido Ocean Star GMT is a true GMT. I have it and I love it.
I love my Mido GMT too! Two very different design languages though. I wish the MIDO GMT did not have PCLs. At times I don't like how flashy and shiny it is. But I love it still, just different from my Tudor GMT.
Well, you had me convinced! Excellent vid and persuasive arguments. Thank you so much.
This videos is amazing, great concept. Congrats!
Subscribed.
And that's your problem, you need like the man says someone else's name to make you feel special. Now that is somewhat sad.
Do you have experience with Rolex and Tudor as an owner?
@@Miles-gu6cj that's a nice reply
Recently purchased the Tudor GMT with Opaline face, really nice in hand, fit is perfect for my wrist 👌
I bought a brand new one three weeks ago and I'm trying to sell it now because I find it too thick and heavy for my wrist.. otherwise it's a gorgeous watch, super precise and absolute bang for bucks and would never take it off my wrist if it was slightly thinner or my wrist was slightly bigger.
koliko je cena ure
How much did you sell it for?
Excellent, poetic, incredible macros…well done 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I have one and love it. It’s not big at all.
Yes I’m convinced. I want one because can’t get Rolex GMT ❤
Good luck.
Thanks for the compliment. Where are you located now?
@@isochrono I'm now living in Yellowknife, Canada (I'm from Canada). Loved my time in Singapore. Went to SAS. Hoping to visit at some point!
Best video I’ve seen about this watch.
Nomos is a killer brand, you clearly have excellent taste...
If you have trouble buying any Tudor watch you want, you're just not trying very hard.
Very nice reviewed! Thank you
What a fantastic video made me more happy I have this watch 🏴🇬🇧
I wear my Tudor gmt with no inferiority complex issues because I own two Rolex watches, Rolex is marginally better than Tudor in the area of case refinement, the movements are indistinguishable but both are certainly working men’s watches. I wear a Rolex but I don’t need any validation for it, Tudor Gmt is build like a brick, I have since bought a Tudor rubber strap reducing the bulky aesthetic. Honestly the smart money is on the Tudor, Rolex premium is a bubble for a watch that is far away from haute horology.
I know what you mean. Thanks for the comment. Much appreciated.
Perfectly put 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼💯
Agreed 👍
Convinced! Great watch and great video!
A very poetic review of a watch…got a Vostok gmt and I just realised how useful it is
Good to know. Do share on Instagram
I bought one yesterday, I tried not to purchase but the overall aesthetic of the GMT and functionality made me pull the trigger. I don’t know how I’ll feel about the purchase, this is the only way to truly know if it’s right for me.
I am convinced. I hope to have mine coming saturday.
just received the watch.
Just waiting for the GMT 58
So is everyone.
I think you could be waiting a long time.....
Same here. I love my Black Bay 58 Blue. This GMT sits too tall on the wrist IMO.
I mean, my 8 inch wrist appreciates the size.
just bought it last week and FYI its my first exclusive watch! and im really happy with it!
Congratulations Sir. You made the right choice!
@@isochrono thanks bro!
I think it's a no brainer, Tudor is a great brand, have grown into there own brand, i would own a Tudor BB GMT if my life was crossing time zones, but for now it's not. I nice review, well done
Enjoyed the video thanks. The thickness is a slight issue for me, but the retro style and lower key style appeal over the rolex equivalent
I totally love this piece! Just got it a few days back. No regrets! Just hope the date issue is resolved. (5yrs warranty tho... ☺️)
Great video, does this watch still look good with scratches over time? Should one be bothered about scratches or scuffs?
great review of a great watch. love it
Excellent review.
I love my GMT, it is a thing of beauty.
Don't get the complaints about the size of it.
Hello from singapore! Got one of these from Cortina for my father last year andhavent had the chance to pass it on to him. In the meantime, it is in heavy rotation w a BLNR. This watch, i would dare say, is every bit as good as the batman when on the wrist.
What other interesting pieces do you have?
Can’t wait to get one mate.
Beautiful watch!💙❤️ Missed Singapore, hope to be able to travel again soon✌️
Incredible video brother 👏
Great video loving my Tudor gmt thank you 😊
Great video! Thank you!
Damn you sold me on this timepiece. I’ve had the same reservations but it’s surely a deal for what you get. Time to find an AD who has one at retail…lol
Is a great watch but the size and thickness are too big I hope Tudor makes the GMT on the size and thickness on the BB58 that will be good
Agree....
I own the black bay diver and certainly will be buying the GMT
Reports that the GMT had date movement issues. Do we know which year was the problem?
What a superb video.Very well done indeed.I loved it.
Fantastic watch review.
Gosh this video is intense. I love it.
You have a great voice - keep up the great videos.
Just too big! Hope they make a BB58 size GMT - would buy that one!
Drink less Soy , it's not even a big watch.
@@Ryansrangereport Not big if in combination with fat wrists...
@@Ryansrangereport yes, i ck it out ..its 41mm
I don't see Tudor doing this. Travellers GMT movements are quite big... the Grand Seiko GMT watches are not exactly thin, neither is the Presage GMT. In addition, the Tudor has impressive water resistance. For comparison, check out the Omega PO GMT. Now that IS a big watch.
Agree!!
Great.. who’s your NYC dealer ? I am looking for one if u dont mind
Awesome style of video! Love this watch too
There are reports of the Black Bay 58 having problems with the movement and as a result, the watch intermittently not working. Have there been any similar complaints with the GMT?
