Fantastic interview Teddy…..it was great to hear the perspective of the design team, especially on the limitations they had on the thickness of the BB Pro!!!
@@fenianlewis i think the design of the dial is great, but he didnt do anything to make the thicker design appear less thick. It's still the same flat slab. He did this to keep the consistancy of the black bay design language, of course, but i wouldnt say he did a great job "working around the movement."
Tudor is what Rolex back in the day used to represent sturdy reliable watches coupled with great watchmaking. I'm glad that bb36 s&g got major upgrades. Seriously hoping that similar upgrades will reach steel bb 36 and other sellita based models.
I have the bb36 S&g with black dial and sellita movement. Not sure what to do. Will my watch retain it’s value? Should I sell it and ”upgrade” to the new one. I am torn.
What a stunning collection. Tudor has really developed some amazing and eye catching timepieces. I liked the BB Pro and the “jubilee style” bracelet that comes on the other model. Great review, once again.
Teddy, you made some of the best WW videos with great depth… that is saying a lot considering who else covered this event. This interview was excellent 😊
Just want to let you know Mr. Ander Ugarte's favorite design of his is the Black Bay P01. Anyway, that Black Bay Pro is gorgeously cool and that thickness is totally acceptable! I really like how humble and nice he is! BRAVO!
The Tudor Royale is definitely an under rated collection for now but the sports comfort of the integrated bracelet, the clean diamond implementation, now mother of pearl dials. It’s like watching Rolex grow, that line has value. I see that collectors love them, can’t wait.
For the longest time I never respected Tudor. I always viewed it as the poor mans Rolex. Until I got myself a Pelagos about 3 years ago. I swim often and the lume is actually big, visible, fits amazing on my wrist and is solid as a rock. I'm pretty clumsy and knock it against things and dropped it many times and it is still solid as a rock. It has slowly become my favorite watch. I can't wait to check out the Black Bay Pro. Tudor has definitely earned my respect. Although I do wish Tudor made the watches a tad bit thinner.
Love the video. Watches are beautiful! Out of my price point so goals! My wife bought me an engagement watch by Movado that has a mother of Pearl face and diamonds for the numbers in the face and I thought “might have to trade up one year and get this Royal on our anniversary”. The Movado won’t be worth much but ‘goals’!
Hi Teddy. Love the content. Did you cut at 9:02 mark because you can’t show the other variant of dials? Reason I ask is Tudor website don’t show anymore the decorative dials. Not sure what happen to it
Interesting video, Teddy, as usual. Highlight being his candor on the BB Pro: "I am working with the movement I have" to explain the thickness of the watch. As if saying: I wish I had a thinner movement, but if this is what I am told to use, a thick movement translates into a thick watch. Not impressed by Tudor's approach in this case. They really should have reworked the MT5402 to integrate a GMT function, and keep the watch
Great video! I’d love to see the steel BB 32/36/41 collection with the S&G upgrades: T-fit clasp, new mid case, MT movement. Any insight as to whether they’ll make those changes soon?
@@TeddyBaldassarre That definitely makes sense! I have a feeling that they wouldn’t want to announce it at the same time as Rolex releasing their models since spec-wise that brings the line MUCH closer to the Explorer series. Definitely seems promising!
I think this is the first channel to really show case the standard black bay. It looks really great in S and G and the fact that it's available now in 39 is a huge deal. I keep thinking about this one more so than I thought about the pro. The polished gold looks incredible.
Well done Teddy, you've taken your channel to a different level from a couple of years ago, I unsubscribed and then re-subscribed to find your current iteration. Brilliant, I'm glad I came back....
Great video! I would have asked a more probing question of how much of the design is held back or controlled by the relationship with Rolex. I guess one wouldn't be invited back next time for asking such questions, I guess😆.
Can you please tell us your thoughts on the crown for the Black Bay 31/36/39/41 S&G? Is it still easy to grip and turn despite it being smaller and closer to the case? Thank you!
How would the ceramic indecies look without frames? I like the polar but may be difficult for this design language. Especially as the Rolex 1655 never came in a polar. Would be an interesting challenge for the design team!
He seems to be a nice guy but 5:23 come on, others brands with less ressources manage to create thiner GMT models. Don't get me wrong I like the watch and want to try it asap (I've been waiting for a smaller Tudor gmt since the BB 58 was released). But was really excites me is the fact the BB Pro is a new line ! I can't wait to see the other models of this family.
My wife wants a diamond bezel/ MOP dail everyday piece and I got excited about the Royal. Unfortunately, I think 28mm is a little too small, I wish they made it in a 34 (or even a 32). You can't even get a Lady DJ any more without a wait (crazy times), so I may have to look at a Lady Serenade from GO or even a Omega AT for her instead. I would have scooped up a Royal 34 instantly had they offered a bigger size (you can get a larger Royal, just not with a diamond bezel).
Great interview and display of the pieces. I hope everyone passes on the Pro due to the thickness so I don’t have to wait long. Thinner than my Helm Komodo which I have no problems with.
Love your videos! keep on the good work. I have seen the new BB S&G with a star pattern dial, do you know if this will be released or just for the fair ? Its so little information on this watch.
This dude talked about the GMT like the goal wasn't to create a legitimate homage watch for the OG Rolex one LOL. Glad they did. Great watch, great interview.
I feel like Tudor has found a strong motif with the black bay, but not quite so with the classic lines; they just aren't particularly recognizable. I'd like to see a different handset on the classics that is similarly iconic to the snowflake. It doesn't necessarily have to be something from Tudor's heritage either. In fact, something new and forward looking would be more in keeping with their adventurous brand messaging. I'd love to see this on a reborn Prince day-date or a Ranger.
