I must say I have owned this watch for over 2 weeks now. I just love it ! I have no problem viewing this watch on the wrist. I also find it comfortable on my 7-1/2 wrist. Just melts into my wrist. I Picked this up to mark my beating the odd's. After my injurie all the doctors said I would be in a wheelchair in 10 years. Over 12 years now I do need a Cain to walk with, But I am still walking!!!! So this was a gift to myself for continuing to prove the experts wrong!! I absolutely enjoy having this on my wrist....
Great review of a great watch. I purchased my GMT about 6 months ago and really enjoy it. It is very sharp and dresses up or dresses down quite well. I purchased it on the bracelet and added the Tudor leather strap and buckle. I personally like the size of the watch as a 6'3" man. I think it is very comfortable and wears well.
Honest review, very good! Almost all reviewers, especially the prominent watch channels ignore the date wheel issue, probably to avoid offending Tudor, which is not very journalistic. I do love the look of the watch.
Just decided to get on a list for this watch last weekend at my AD. Little wary about the date issue, but decided to take the plunge. Love the videos and your commentary!
I've had mine for a year and the date issue cropped up 6 months in. Sent it to the RSC in Dallas, TX and the issue was resolved. I love this watch and I know you will also.
I liked the Tudor 58 in blue so much that I got the black version...then, I saw the GMT and bought it too. So I have three outstainding Tudors that I really like and that by no means will change them for a Rolex.
Great review. Convinced me that I needed one in my life. I’ve been on local ad waitlisted for a few months then last weekend I popped into another ad and there was one in the display cabinet. I asked if it was for sale and when he said yes I replied better go get me the box then. So far I’m loving it.
In regards to the bezel. The reason it is so much harder to turn is intentional. If you are keeping track of a second or even third times of you don't want any accidental movement of your bezel. It's very similar to the Omega Seamaster Professional bezel. Many people complain about those on how difficult the bezel is to turn, but again was designed to be that way, Let's not forget bezels serve a purpose in there not supposed to be easy to turn.
I agree - to a degree, the bezel should not be able to be turned easily to avoid accidental movements, but my Tudor GMT bezel is extremely hard to move making it unpleasant to use and also feels somewhat poorly engineered compared to other GMT watches in my collection. Whilst this isn'y an issue for me, as I rarely move the bezel, but it does not feel like I would expect from a watch in this price bracket.
@@eagles4757 I don't believe so. I love Omega, let's just get that out of the way. But Tudor is better on some fronts. Holding value and resell value, water resistance, cost. But the biggest is versatility. Tudors just work everywhere and with anything. They are smaller and lighter. Omega is beautifully finished. Both offer in house movements, while Omega offers the Co-Axial movement (not an Omega invention, it was invented by watchmaker George Daniels in 1976) Tudor is killing it in the movement side of the house. Tudor also shines in design and i predict Tudor will surpass Rolex in F&F and movements if allowed and left to grow as they have been so far. Omega has beaten the Seamaster and Speedmaster line to death as well as over releasing "Limited Editions" . It's time to completely revamp or retire both. Omega needs to come up with something, anything new and refreshing that isn't just another Seamaster i.e. the Ultra Deep. Both brands are solid luxury lines that offer something that the other doesn't. As a diver I would choose a Tudor every time over an Omega. As an EDC watch I'd choose an Omega SMP. Both brands hit it out of the park (Tudor Black Bay Pro...OMG I need it) and foul it up (a 25th no 26th no..... limited edition Speedmaster) Both are phenomenal brands and deserve equal love.
Nice review. I’ve also owned the same watch and I did have the date wheel issue. It was rectified by the Rolex service centre. The issue did not happen on my time piece again. The wall of silence is shameful! I believe the hands and hour markers are actually rhodium plated and not gold! Health to wearing it.
Just got mine back at the weekend, after going back for the date repair. Didn't think I'd missed it that much till I got it back. Shame you don't get on with the bracelet because I love it, perfect fit (for me) and super comfortable.
Your videos have really come a long way, I already liked the videos right from the begining, but recently your shots and editing have really improved, making the videos not only calm but also more interesting to watch. Love the watch but it's just too big for my relatively small wrists.
I bought the BB GMT in March, 2020 and the date issue cropped up 6 months in. I sent it into RSC, in Dallas, TX under warranty. The issue was properly resolved and I wear this watch more than any of the others I own, including a Rolex SubC. I wear it on the bracelet, with no problem at all. I find it very comfortable, but understand that that may not be the case or everyone. Great review! But one little critique...can you place an apostrophe on the word owner in the title? :)
I purchased the same model Tudor GMT, I have had it about 3 months now. Fits just right, Love the bracelet, love the overall look of it. I have a 7.5 inch wrist. It seems to be a keeper. I purchased a leather band for it, I think it looks just like yours right down to the faux Tudor butterfly clasp. However, after wearing the leather band for two months I put it back on the stainless steel bracelet and seem to be liking it better at this point. Thanks for the review( I did see the video a few months ago)it was nice to have a little knowledge before the purchase.
Hey @Chaps Guide, What a Fantastic review! I agree with absolutely everything you said, having had mine for a little over a year now. I bought my Tudor BB GMT from my AD in march 2020; on the bracelet. (Never had the date issue either.) I found this video and subscribed to your channel immediately upon watching this - this is such great and honest content and I'm very much looking forward to seeing more of your videos in the future - because I ordered a new 2021 produced Tudor GMT from my AD the other day intended as a birthday present to a very dear friend of mine on May 28th and payed a small deposit for it already. (only approximately 500€). I should have the watch within a couple of weeks I think even though they have to say 4-6 months to not let their customers down just in case something should happen with the shipment or something goes wrong - you know how that works. You sound like you know a great deal about horology and how ADs and Rolex/Tudor under the Hans Wilsdorf Foundation operates. What I'm really curious about is where you got that wonderful replica Tudor leather strap with the deployant clasp for only 25 pounds. It looks absolutely amazing!! Just like you I got the gmt on the bracelet. That's what I always do when I buy brand new watches from an AD just in case I at some point decide to let it go and sell the watch. Having the original bracelet just makes that so much easier in my experience. But the bracelet is absolutely awful for me. It really makes me almost "hate" wearing the watch because I can't get a good and comfortable fit on my wrist. Like you I'm equally "spoiled", owning a 116610LN Submariner and a 5-digit Sub from my birth-year, and a GMT-Master II Pepsi with the glide-lock oyster bracelet. And I also have an Omega Seamaster Diver Pro 300m, bought in 2020 as well, which has an incredible quick adjust system (no doubt inspired by Rolex's glide lock system) where you just push down a button and it let's you do 5x2mm increments, plus it has a divers extension as well. That quick adjust is actually for me better than the glide-lock on Rolex's bracelet, although I do prefer the oyster bracelet from Rolex over the Omega Smp diver 300m in general. But the quick adjust push down button is incredibly useful and handy. And no metal scraping metal; so no scratches. But again, could you maybe send me a private DM or an email (i put my email at the very end of this comment) if you're not comfortable posting here where you got that replica leather strap from, with a functioning deployant clasp that even has the Tudor inscription on it. I think maybe that would make me fall back in love with the watch again so that I can wear it more frequently in my rotation of watches - because right now I just can't bring myself to wear it at all because of the uncomfortable Tudor bracelet. That strap you have with the deployant clasp is exactly what I'm looking for! And I really do not want to pay several hundred pounds for an original Tudor strap that only has a normal clasp. I'm a folding clasp/deployant clasp kind of guy, but I just can't justify spending that much money on an OEM Tudor Strap that doesn't even have a folding/deployant clasp but a normal pin-buckle clasp. The alternatives are so expensive and I don't know for sure if a strap with a deployant would make me love this watch again. So trying that replica at 25 quid would be great. I would be so grateful if you would be able to share with me/us where I could pick up/buy that replica Tudor leather strap you have with the deployant clasp. I think that would make me love this watch again. It is a beauty. Now it's just unfortunately "collecting dust" in my rather large collection of watches. But I love the watch in itself so much, it's just the bracelet that ruins the whole experience for me. Thank you so much for this wonderful and amazing BB GMT review. It was phenomenal, and it made me want to wear mine again. But I just can't on the original bracelet which does not fit my wrist at all, especially during the summer season when It's hot/warm and my wrist swells up due to the heat. I really really hope to hear back from you about where you got this strap because there are so many scammers on eBay and other places like Facebook groups etc. I've been dealing with watches for over 15 years - buying and selling - including vintage/2nd hand/grey market, and you have to be so careful with who you trust. Not that 25 quid is gonna be the end of me or anything if I got scammed, but it's just so frustrating and sad when you pay someone and they end up screwing you over. It appears to me you found and hit the mother load with that replica strap - from a reliable seller. It would help me out so much if I was able to get the same one for my Tudor BB GMT, and one for my friend whom I'm buying a brand new one for, for his birthday. Warm regards, best wishes and with appreciation, Eirik Næss eirik.naess.oslo@gmail.com
Hi, thanks for the contact. You have an excellent watch collection of some excellent pieces. I have checked my ebay history and sadly the seller of the watch strap I have purchased is no longer offering such pieces. It is a shame, as the strap is doing well and has served me excellently over the last 18-months. I do agree with your thoughts about that Tudor steel strap. If they fitted it with a version of the easyglide, they would have a much better product. Good luck with your GMT, I hope you find a suitable strap that fits you well.
@@TheChapsGuide thank you so much for the quick reply. I really appreciate it. I'll have to go on the hunt for some alternate strap because your review of the BB GMT really inspired me to "dust it off" and start wearing it again. Preferably with a deployant clasp. I'm not a fan of regular pinbucle clasps. Do you have any suggestions where to look besides eBay?
@@eiriknss3727 Unfortunately I have only tried this one leather strap, but it looks like there are several options on eBay which are similar: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/294193134130?hash=item447f46fa32:g:dZYAAOSwrDxfuw5~
@@dikrambone1 i literally just sent you an email :) What do you make of this? ebay.us/mf0gM3 It's so hard to tell just by looking at photographs on the internet because in real life they could look completely different. And this one was quite expensive too. 50 GBP or somewhere around there + 10 GBP for shipping it (to Norway). Or maybe even more. Maybe the 10 GBP for shipping was within the United States only. I didn't really look at that closely. Did you get yours from the United States? Or was yours shipped somewhere from China/Asia or something? I don't really know where to look because I always use people that I know and have a relationship with that are well known in the horology groups as people you can trust that makes Natos and Leatherstraps. But i've contacted them already and they can not make one with a deployant clasp. So i'm gonna have to take a risk/chance on some random person on eBay or something.
Owned it for slightly over a year, good as a weekend watch but not a daily - I am a white collar worker so my wrist shrinks in the aircon room, it’s too too heavy and flopping about. Considering putting a rubber b on it for a better fit. Other than that, accuracy and reliability is spot on.
I have a 7.25 wrist and the BB58 was just too feminine for me. The BB GMT checks all the boxes and it fits like a glove. Zero complaints and I have owned it for 2 days now. Cheers!
It should, as it's just paint on an aluminium bezel the same as the old Rolex GMTs, but to be honest a new bezel should be modestly priced if that becomes an issue. I'm not a fan of that old faded look personally.
@@TheChapsGuide I would like to see that. Also, I would like the GMT in the BB58 blue colorway. I am stuck between the Tudor BB GMT, the Pelagos LHD, and the Omega Aqua Terra this year.
I am a Rolex/Tudor lover. I have had a Sub for many years and bought the Tudor GMT about 6 months ago. They both feel identical in quality. You can certainly tell they are in essence made by the same company. I wear the Tudor much more than the Sub as I like the Tudor brand marque over the Rolex marque for a number of reasons. Rolex at times tends to rub people the wrong way--especially in business. Even in social. I like the fact you can wear a Tudor as a high end watch, however, understated. It is the Toyota Landcruiser of watches.
Very good review . Very informative . I've had mine for 18 months , as of yet no issue with the date issue . My son will celebrate his 18th birthday in a few months and I'm passing this piece on to him . Im going to miss it . The faux rivets really irk me , but you cant really notice it on the wrist . Well done
Do you feel the steel is a bit soft, prone to show scratches a bit too easy? I have the black bay 41, love it, but I think it has a mark for every time I’ve worn it. I even put the leather strap on it but still, I manage to scratch it
I can't say that I have noticed the case steel to be soft or prone to marks/scratches. In fact, I would say that my Tudor is a bit more robust than my Rolex pieces, which are more prone to taking on the odd scratch.
Overall Ash, you don't seem too happy with the watch. My advice, if it doesn't get any wear, especially when you have a superb no date sub. Trade it in for a Tudor Green Harrods. And do some reviews on that next. Keep rotating that £2,500 - £3,000 level watch. Channel will appreciate it and you'll have fun doing it
I must admit, the Tudor is the Cinderella in my collection, but when I get around to wearing it, it does perform exceptionally well as a rough & tumble watch. I would not buy another Tudor Black Bay in the 41mm size, as I am not in love with the slab-sided design and I would be looking for a touch more finesse. Sadly Tudor has little that really calls to me in their range at present (other than the BB58 range). I'm waiting to see if Rolex do anything interesting in 2021 - it is the 50 anniversary of the Explorer 2, so I suspect something radical may unfold there - we will see.
I have noticed that people who collect watches , in the budget price range always seem to have a Seiko five, and Vostok amphibia. As the styles stand out, and they are tough/ robust, but do not break the bank
I’ll never understand the complaints about micro adjustments on watch bracelets. Micro adjustments on bracelets are akin to Velcro on sneakers. The human body expands and contracts throughout the day. If you are one who constantly needs to adjust for what minor changes in body composition you experience perhaps you need to simply stick to your iPhone as a time piece. Further, the micro adjustment doo-dads are just something else that will eventually require a trip to the repair shop.
I had the date wheel issue after a year of ownership, couldn’t fault the service I got sorting of out! Back to service centre full service and polished and only two-three weeks! (Leather strap too which suits it so well!)
Im planning on getting the BB GMT in either steel or the root beer version in steel and gold. Are you sure the indecies and hands of the steel model are made of white gold? As far as I know they are steel as well...
I misspoke on this video, the hands of the steel model are made of Rhodium. I imagine the rootbeer version will have gold plated hands and indices. A great choice if you have the wrist to pull off the watch.
@@TheChapsGuide thank you for the reply and clarification! I should be ok wrist wise, I can pull off some real chonkster watches, so the BB GMT will not be a problem. Tried it a week ago at the AD and it actually fit me way better than expected after reading all the complaints about the height. Cheers and have a great day!
I've checked and the listing has ended on ebay. It was just a cheapo, which I picked up for under £30. There are much better out there, but for some reason, this strap just fits me to perfection - but I am certainly looking to move the watch onto a better strap soon.
It is essentially painted aluminium, so it will scratch a lot more easily than the ceramic bezels of Rolex and other brands. Not much you can do about it really, but they are easily and cheaply replaced if they do get damaged.
@@TheChapsGuide Thanks, l've had my for a week, ATM l'm very careful with it. Do l go back to Tudor if it's damaged? Do you know if l can get all black bezel?
Very informative video. I just bought this watch because I was looking for a GMT with a good value proposition but thought it would be too heavy with the bracelet so I got the leather and NATO straps.
I was never i to watches before viewing a couple of your videos on them. Now I'm kind of obsessed with browsing the interwebs for them. Certainly can't justify laying out a few thousand on a watch but keen to look into some of the direct toarket options such as Christopher Ward. Also, if you can afford a 3k watch and a few Rolex's Im sure you can get a couple of MTM shirts with a wider sleeve on one arm!
Good video. I looked at one of these and felt it was too big for my wrist. As unfortunately are most of the ‘nice’ watches - when I put on a Black Bay bronze it looked like a kid wearing his dad’s watch. So I have a Black Bay 58 on order. Only a couple of mm smaller but it did seem to make a difference. But I think I’m going to have to start looking at vintage, solely on size grounds. Any thoughts Ash?
Have you considered a Rolex Date Just 36mm. I have one with a blue face and it fits my 6.5inch wrist to perfection. It wears beautifully with almost all clothing styles and is remarkably tough and robust. It is the equal of many so-called 'sports watches' and I would buy one again tomorrow. Also there are so many options (colours, bracelets, etc.) you cab get exactly what you want quite easily and without any waitlist.
Hi. Great video actually, thanks for this. Relaxed style, just an overall great video. Please could you tell me if your GMT is the Q serial number? People claim that Q serial number GMT’s are the ones that are fixed. This issue is absolutely the reason o haven’t bought this watch yet but I want one so bad. Thank you and have a great day.
@@a1d3nh0 Hi, I had a look at the watch this morning (I've not been wearing it recently so it was in the safe), it is indeed a Q serial number. I purchased it from an AD in early/mid 2020. It was after a wait period of about 2-months, so it was fresh from Tudor and new stock.
I'm glad you mentioned the bezel action. I went in to the AD to get hands on with this watch and the bezel action being so stiff is mostly what gave me pause for buying it. I think I may go with the Pelagos instead.
It looks very good, I think better than the 58 with its blingy “gold”. -Where did you get the information about the hands and indexes made of white gold? Rolex does that, but I think on a Tudor it’s just steel. On the 58 it might just be PVD coating rather than gold plating. - By now, in September 2021, there is no waiting list.
Very detailed, relax, unbiased & practical opinion. Thou To me Tudor is juz a marketimg gimmick by rolex to tap the market gap. & they succeeded in luring the "gap". Its jus an expensive clone of rolex. I recon one shud jus get an AAAAA grade china clone rather than this overpriced clone. Sori juz my thoughts.
Thank you, I do try to dress appropriate for the environment. The flannel shirt is from Oris - picked up in Costco for about £20. Great for the winter!
Paul Thorpe initiated the last collaboration and I suspect his channel has a much stronger watch following than mine, but I would love to work with him again - just need the right vehicle to take forward.
Love the review. I have an order in for it on the bracelet. Do you mind linking to the genuine leather strap with deployment buckle that you purchased?
I have tried to locate the present listing from my purchase history, but sadly it does not seem to be available anymore. Good luck with your GMT, I'm actually wearing mine right now and still enjoying it enormously.
Bought it 2 months ago with a leather strap. I don’t like a fake rivet bracelet so since the beginning my intention was to put it on a rubber strap. After a few weeks of ownership an OEM Tudor deployant clasp simply fell apart resulting in watch dropped on a concrete. This is unacceptable with this price tag and brand level. All that aside, I love this watch and it’s presence. No date issue so far.
The commets are good in general. That said it is not fair to complain the size of the GMT which causing most of the issues. You know the size and the weight of the watch so it is up to you to decide if the watch is suitable for you. At least you should try one before buying. Thta's the same reason I never buy the new bulky watches(Rolex included) in recent years. You don't need to buy the GMT as there are many alternatives but don't blame Tudor because they offer you one!!
I very nearly purchased this watch however the thickness of the case really was evident from between the lugs (on strap) and side view the case should have been split rather than having a massive chunk of metal. Bb58 proportions are better but no GMT!
I agree that it is too chunky. 14.7 ~almost 15mm is a little bit too much. But then again, it's not a suit watch. It's like The Chap's Guide said: The Tudor GMT is first and foremost a diver (200m water resistance) which has been converted from a BB to a GMT complication. So it is what it is. A rugged sportswatch for casual attire. I would have preferred it to be a bit thinner too: like you said. The BB58's thickness and dimensions are much better for me personally. I think it's around 10-11mm thick. So you can actually get that under a shirtsleeve.
ibb.co/bWRtMrF If you look at this photo it's the GMT and BB58 right next to each other. It really demonstrates how much better the proportions and dimensions are on the BB58 compared to the GMT - in my opinion. 39mm-wide and about 12mm-thick, as opposed to the wider and thicker 41mm-wide model which is almost 15mm thick. The BB58 definitely looks more versatile and elegant (to me anyways)
I like the matte colors of this GMT, but that thickness has consistently stopped me from making a purchase. I've got a Rolex GMT that is nice and thin. I just can't imagine wearing this over the Rolex. I understand why you do since the CHNR is more of a special, dressier GMT watch.
Totally agree with your analysis. Sold mine due to the top heavy nature and I also had issues with getting the correct fit . I loved the look but on the wrist it didn’t really work for me . I think tudor must surely be thinking of thinning down the bb 41 it seems that almost everyone who owns it has the same complaints ..with the success of the 58 and it’s thinner more uniformed proportions I think it will happen soon .
7.5 Wrists.. I’ve grown to love the thickness of the watch... my grail is a Rolex Deepsea... near enough the same case thickness and shape as my Black Bay.. So I have my very poor mans Deepsea!
The James Cameron one? I don't really like cyclops on diver watches so i prefer the regular deepsea, but I wish the JC came without a cyclops aswell because that dial is gorgous. Hope you get the call soon!
Love your review of the watch. Had it since 2019, and 100% agree the bracelet need improvements - been wearing it on an inexpensive nato. Also first time hearing the hands are made of white gold?
Sorry to say I got that wrong and the hands are Rhodium plated not w/gold. It is a truly great watch, shame about that bracelet - Tudor dropped the ball there!
I don't think these live on any bracelet other than president or jubilee. Uncle seiko and forstner have great ones. This may change your mind about the bracelet.
Tudor has not corrected the issue. There are reports of people with 2021 versions still having the issue. Plus, time not having the issue does not mean you won't. Many say it happens a year into ownership. This is a very serious issue and problem, and the repair was simply to replace the movement with one that many have had the issue with again!
If Tudor did a half link, it would solve all fitting issues. There's a number of their models that would benefit with this. They are not the only ones to be fair.......Rolex Oyster perpetual also comes to mind. I did have the idea that it wouldnt be the wildest idea ever to have half links made as an aftermarket part, but there seems to be a thought that this would be against design rights.....but I just wish someone would do it!
Would not buy again Love the look, but the size and height make it to big to travel with. If it was 39mm it would, for the height be a legand.the master ll is a beautiful watch size.
41mm is absolutely big for me. I am currently have a office gmt 39mm Steinhart and enough for me. I have several business trips but 90% are in EU. Only few trips to Japan and China so 3500-4000 EU is huge money to wear it for 20 days in a year.
@@Leventgursoy11 it is a very large piece and wears bigger than 41mm due to its slab sides. I must admit, now that I own a Rolex GMT, which wears much more neatly in the wrist, I rarely wear this watch anymore. But if you were looking for a big, tough watch that wears like a big unit, the Tudor may be worth a thought.
No problem. Your other observations on the watch are spot on. I also changed out the bracelet for a leather strap due to poor fit. Now very comfortable. Keeps excellent time, looks great and built like a tank. Not for smaller wrists however.
The height and width is a bit of an issue with modern Tudors. I have a 7.5 inch wrist and I can take them - but they still feel to me like they are pretty much at the upper size limit for me. Something like a Submariner from Tudor’s big brother probably hits the sweet spot for me. (BTW Ash, did your guys at Cribbs C. ever get you your Rolex Pepsi? I reckon they may have been BS-ing you!? We now know from the legal documents in a case against a Rolex AD in Chicago that ADs aren’t allowed by Rolex to sell hot steel models to customers unless they have significant purchase history in non-waitlist items!)
It is a chunky unit, probably better suited for the increasing size of the human race. I didn’t follow up on a SS GMT (Pepsi). To be honest I’m not really that interested in a Pepsi now. I’m very happy with the Rootbeer and have become a convert to the beauty of gold. It brings a sense of occasion and warm to the watch. Also, the Pepsi seems just a touch too trendy to me, everyone seems to want one and hence it’s appeal to me has greatly diminished. An associate of mine purchased a Batman (BLNR) recently from a high street WoS branch with a 3-month wait. His only purchase history was a Submariner several years ago and a lady DJ for the wife, also many years ago. I think the buying process is utter dependent on the AD & customer relationship. Let’s be honest, most customers buy a watch very rarely and repeat custom will have intervals of years between purchases. ADs want to sell those watches above everything else.
@@TheChapsGuide Yes, it is a slightly crazed situation all round with Rolex now. Another AD that I think we both know (I try to avoid naming names - but let‘s say they are just around the corner from Waitrose😉) sold me a BLNR just before last Christmas. Literally while I was in there being fitted up for it there was a young man at their other end of the store asking about the same reference and being told that they were impossible to obtain. Clearly _impossible_ is a flexible concept! I‘m not criticizing them - this guy had flipper practically written on his forehead. They are right to be very picky about whom they sell to. Yet I can remember looking in their shopwindow 25 or 30 years ago and seeing. all of the Rolex references (including Daytonas) right there...
@@TheChapsGuide I figured it was a longshot. But thanks for your response. I bought an Aftermarket bracelet because I didn’t want to spend 850 more dollars for the OEM bracelet. They are really tough to find brand new and I found a brand new one with the five year warranty on the leather straps so I bought that one. I did not get the panda version but the previous version. I like the monochromatic look Of that watch. Now I’m thinking of the GMT. Hence the reason I was watching your video.
May 2023, same poor bracelet clasp. Shame on you Tudor. Pelagos and pro have the better clasp. Becel Action on Rolex gmt's and Tudor are poor. Grand Seiko GMT's are master class. Pro and Explorer would my first choice from these two Brands, if a GMT.

homage watch for thousands I will pass.
Great video! FYI, Uncle Watch Strap s sells an aftermarket half link for this bracelet
Mine had the issue, Tudor fixed it, all good now for several months now. Cool watch.
Don't compare this fake Rolex with the Omega SMP a real diver that nothing in the market has such an original design.
@@eagles4757 That's a little harsh. Tudor isn't "Fake Rolex" they have a very impressive history and lineage.
@@shepleonard8695 Maybe harsh but comparing Tudor to Omega a stretchhhhhhh lol
Both brands hit it out of the park (Tudor Black Bay Pro...OMG I need it) and foul it up (a 25th no 26th no..... limited edition Speedmaster)
Both are phenomenal brands and deserve equal love.
You are right sir, I incorrectly thought they hands were white gold plated.
Just got mine back at the weekend, after going back for the date repair. Didn't think I'd missed it that much till I got it back. Shame you don't get on with the bracelet because I love it, perfect fit (for me) and super comfortable.
Enjoy it sir - its a wonderful piece.
who cares
everybody has a sub buddy should have bought a Sea Dweller 4000 true dive watch
I just purchased this watch this Friday and it just fantastic , fits excellent on my 7 1/2"
100% correct about the clasp adjustment system Ash!!
Had mine 3 months its been good as gold love it 😀
I purchased the same model Tudor GMT, I have had it about 3 months now.
Hey @Chaps Guide,
What a Fantastic review!
Warm regards, best wishes and with appreciation,

What do you make of this? ebay.us/mf0gM3
It's so hard to tell just by looking at photographs on the internet because in real life they could look completely different.
What a fantastic reveiw. Loved the setting and very practical comments. I'll be following you for sure!
Awesome review! Greeting from all the way down from Japan...
Glad you enjoyed it!
Love my Tudor gmt 2021 model so no date wheel issue
Nice to see a review by not only someone who owns the watch but has owned it for more than 12 months, great video👍
Still own it and still enjoy it - although my son has his eyes on the GMT now!!
Thorough, balanced, informative and delivered articulately. 👍👍
Much appreciated!
I have a 7.25 wrist and the BB58 was just too feminine for me. The BB GMT checks all the boxes and it fits like a glove. Zero complaints and I have owned it for 2 days now. Cheers!
2 whole days ok and no complaints impressive lmao
Do you think the colour on the bezel will fade at all? Like the vintage Rolex?
It should, as it's just paint on an aluminium bezel the same as the old Rolex GMTs, but to be honest a new bezel should be modestly priced if that becomes an issue. I'm not a fan of that old faded look personally.
Great review. I love that watch, but the date problem is an issue Tudor should resolve once and for all.
Agreed. Waiting to see what Tudor will release in a few days - thoughts are high for a 'coke' dial GMT!?
@@TheChapsGuide I would like to see that. Also, I would like the GMT in the BB58 blue colorway. I am stuck between the Tudor BB GMT, the Pelagos LHD, and the Omega Aqua Terra this year.
Excellent review, ill wait for a new clasp system before buying a Tudor gmt .
Well done
You have a very lucky son. Hope it loves it too.

Great overview and summary!
One small thing to mention, the hands and indices are not white gold.
Yes sir, I’ve since learned they are rhodium plated.
Nice review👍🏼 I’d like to see longer wrist shots in the future thou.
That watch is a strap monster as well. Looks good on Leather, bracelet or even mesh.
Lovely Watch - love the sturdy yet elegant look 👍🏻
I have noticed that people who collect watches , in the budget price range always seem to have a Seiko five, and Vostok amphibia.
As the styles stand out, and they are tough/ robust, but do not break the bank
Hard to top a Seiko 5 - great watches
I agree about the bracelet. Just can't get it to fit right. But, love the watch!
Great review! Very much enjoyed listening to you. Congrats to this amazing watch. Enjoy it!
Thank you kindly!
I have mine on a miltat super engineer bracelet. extremely comfortable.

got a link for the strap?
Sorry, but the eBay listing has long gone now.
Great review! Had my GMT about 9 months and have had no issues with the date wheel. Do you have a link to the leather strap you put on the watch?
I've checked and the listing has ended on ebay. It was just a cheapo, which I picked up for under £30. There are much better out there, but for some reason, this strap just fits me to perfection - but I am certainly looking to move the watch onto a better strap soon.
Is the bezel easily scratchable?
Do you have any recommendation to protect the bezel from being damaged?
It is essentially painted aluminium, so it will scratch a lot more easily than the ceramic bezels of Rolex and other brands. Not much you can do about it really, but they are easily and cheaply replaced if they do get damaged.
@@TheChapsGuide Thanks, l've had my for a week, ATM l'm very careful with it.
Do l go back to Tudor if it's damaged?

Very informative video. I just bought this watch because I was looking for a GMT with a good value proposition but thought it would be too heavy with the bracelet so I got the leather and NATO straps.
Great channel, glad I found it 👍✌️
Nearly bought one but it’s way way too thick👎🏻 a BB58 GMT would be perfect 👌🏼
I was never i to watches before viewing a couple of your videos on them. Now I'm kind of obsessed with browsing the interwebs for them.
Certainly can't justify laying out a few thousand on a watch but keen to look into some of the direct toarket options such as Christopher Ward.
Also, if you can afford a 3k watch and a few Rolex's Im sure you can get a couple of MTM shirts with a wider sleeve on one arm!
Nice review!
That watch in my opinion is every bit as Good a Quality as it's Rolex Cousin. Without the Hype Price.
I like it except for the case thickness.
As one who owns both let me tell you that it’s actually not 👍
No way this watch is cheap and has issues that tudor has yet to address, just save up extra and buy the real thing.
@@psmith2632 he will have plenty of time to save for that Rolex since it'll be a couple years at least to get it from the Rolex AD
@@TheChapsGuide great suggestion Ash. I will look into that.
Bought one today. Thank you sir!
Hope you enjoy it! I still enjoy mine a great deal.
it's unnecessarily too thick for what it is, it should be 12-13mm thick

@@TheChapsGuide is the serial number not under the watch, written beside the case back? Or between the lugs? Thanks anyway buddy
@@dikrambone1 thank you very much for having a look. I appreciate it. Keep up the great work on the videos :-)
I'm glad you mentioned the bezel action. I went in to the AD to get hands on with this watch and the bezel action being so stiff is mostly what gave me pause for buying it. I think I may go with the Pelagos instead.
Go SMP300m only decent watch in this price range.
Great review , I am getting one too
It looks very good, I think better than the 58 with its blingy “gold”. -Where did you get the information about the hands and indexes made of white gold? Rolex does that, but I think on a Tudor it’s just steel. On the 58 it might just be PVD coating rather than gold plating. - By now, in September 2021, there is no waiting list.
My error in the video. The hands are rhodium plated.
Extremely chunky thick watch and No magnify cyclops on the Date maybe giving a cyclops was too difficult and expensive for Tudor to offer...
you dont want the bezel to move easily if you are tracking a time zone...you dont want it to move as you move about the day...just sayin
Nice commendation !

Any Chance of a Collaboration video again with Paul Thorpe & David His Partner?
So you can actually get that under a shirtsleeve.
ibb.co/bWRtMrF
If you look at this photo it's the GMT and BB58 right next to each other.
3k on a watch you know will break.
Am I missing something?
Wouldn't accept that on a £30 watch!
I like the matte colors of this GMT, but that thickness has consistently stopped me from making a purchase. I've got a Rolex GMT that is nice and thin. I just can't imagine wearing this over the Rolex. I understand why you do since the CHNR is more of a special, dressier GMT watch.
The Tudor and the CHNR are not really comparable, but I love each in their own niche.
Lovely timepiece, not a huge fan of domed crystal. But I do like the watch.
The black bay series does not use white gold for the hands.
Rhodium. It was a slip.
Totally agree with your analysis. Sold mine due to the top heavy nature and I also had issues with getting the correct fit . I loved the look but on the wrist it didn’t really work for me . I think tudor must surely be thinking of thinning down the bb 41 it seems that almost everyone who owns it has the same complaints ..with the success of the 58 and it’s thinner more uniformed proportions I think it will happen soon .
don't buy anymore of this micro brand
Just paid £3300 for mine - love it
They should have given the Peligoes Clasp on the GMT Model.
That would have given us the perfect watch in my opinion.
Had it on leather and Erika original, but such a pain in the arse to change back to bracelet. So just kept it on bracelet 😂
Check out Uncle Seiko :]
The elephant in the room, saw an elephant in the background, lol
BLACK BAY 58 BEZEL IS SMOOTH AS BUTTER FYI.
If this was in 42mm it would be the best selling luxury watch in the world!

for a minute i thought you were gonna throw it into the fire
Its not that bad a watch sir, I'm wearing it right now in fact!
Have one. The Rolex is far too lustrous in comparison. This watch is better on leather with the deployment clasp and nato strap.
Would not buy again Love the look, but the size and height make it to big to travel with. If it was 39mm it would, for the height be a legand.the master ll is a beautiful watch size.
Totally agree
Great review. I absolutely decided not to buy.
Why is that?
41mm is absolutely big for me. I am currently have a office gmt 39mm Steinhart and enough for me. I have several business trips but 90% are in EU. Only few trips to Japan and China so 3500-4000 EU is huge money to wear it for 20 days in a year.
@@Leventgursoy11 it is a very large piece and wears bigger than 41mm due to its slab sides. I must admit, now that I own a Rolex GMT, which wears much more neatly in the wrist, I rarely wear this watch anymore. No problem. Your other observations on the watch are spot on. I also changed out the bracelet for a leather strap due to poor fit. Now very comfortable. Keeps excellent time, looks great and built like a tank. Not for smaller wrists however.
Hands not white gold. 316 steel.
Rhodium in fact.
Somehow I thought and expected you to throw it into the oven ...
It's not that bad.
I will trade you my OEM Chronograph leather strap with deployment buckle for your OEM bracelet.
No thank you - I may end up liquidating the GMT and the steel bracelet will fetch a better return. But thanks for asking.
Pro and Explorer would my first choice from these two Brands, if a GMT.
throw the fake Pepsi in the fire my advice!lol
tudor is the backup tire of rolex
