i would also recommend when staring the engine after refilling to switch on the heating with it on hot to make sure the coolant goes through the heater matrix .
Thanks for your comment, but on the vehicle we had in the workshop, there was no heater control valve in the circuit, so coolant flows through the matrix all the time - the airflow controls the temperature.
I did it the same but it wasnt easy with bleeding screw to make it loos it could be easily broken but it was very good to take the air out from the system from the beelding hole.
Cooling system capacity is 5.5 litres, and the Ford recommendation for anti-freeze is: Motorcraft SuperPlus antifreeze, or coolant to Ford specification WSS-M97 B44-D
@@HaynesManuals thank you for replying me. Actually i couldn't find bleeding plug on my fiesta 1.4 tdci 2006. I have looked at top of left and right hand corners which describe in the video. Is it possible to no bleeding plug in this case ?

It looks like this radiator drain plug is not available in the ST150 version. I had a look around on both left and right sides and couldn't find it. I think the only way to drain it on the 05' ST150 is to remove the main pipe coming from the reservoir.

Friend i have the problem on my fiesta there is leak of coolant i dont know where but i found a small quantity under the expansion container on the engine can you help me where it can be?
If there's coolant under the expansion tank, it's possible it's coming from the filler cap, attached hoses, or the tank itself. If you look closely, the dried coolant will leave a trail back to the source. Good luck!
@@HaynesManuals it's not a big leak, so I'll wait for a small service (change of oil and accompanying filters) because I have 2000 km until the next one, but I'm afraid because the mechanic doesn't see that it's leaking anywhere, that maybe the engine head gasket or the engine head itself has gone i will inform you thanks on your help
@imgonakickurass72 oh mate it was leak on three places i freaked out it was leak on expansion container , cooler and termostat but problem was that after fixed one place i found another and after 3 repairs and 2 months it was finally solved
I wouldn't be the first coolant pump that looks OK, but the impeller has become detached from the shaft, and is not spinning - check for actual flow if possible.
Did this exactly and now fan just want kick in all pipes are hot heating is red hot temp half way no warnings but no fan and I’ve been doing my deliveries for around 3 hours now no fan I’ve tried letting it idle with the cap off squeezing the pipes nothing no fan.

This will prvent any air bubbles in the system as well?thank you
This is an awesome video! Simple and straightforward!

Great tutorial And lovely voice from your wife. Thank you!
Hello thank you for making this! Really appreciate it 👍🏻

Thank you, my CAR WAS BIT FIREY TODAY, NEEDED MORE COOLANT ... YIKESS!!
Thank you. This really. Really Help me.
Glad it helped!
Thank you for making this 😊

Awesome tutorial. But how do you bleed the system if there are bubbles?
I did it the same but it wasnt easy with bleeding screw to make it loos it could be easily broken but it was very good to take the air out from the system from the beelding hole.
The bleeding coolant must be done from down or its ok from the bleeder screw which is up because in my ford its only one screw from up left side.
Which type of coolant suitable for ford fiesta 1.4 tdci 2006 ?can we use organic or inorganic coolant?

It is possible that there's no bleed plug. We only describe what we found in the workshop whilst carrying out the task.

When you add the new coolant you mention to use the ration 50/50 water to coolant. Is this with ready mixed coolant or the concentrate?
Thank you
The 50/50 ratio refers to using the anti-freeze concentrate and water.
Thank you, Perfect.

Transmission fluid (the ever lasting one that doesn't have to be changed) but what if you do due to a leak ?
There's a filler/level plug on the front face of the transmission - full details in our manual!
What are the torque settings on the 4 bolts of the thermostat housing on the Fiesta Mk6.5, 1.6 TDCI please.

How many liters of antifreeze mixture goes to system?
5.0 litres for petrol engines, and 5.5 - 6.0 litres depending on which diesel engine is fitted.
What type of antifreeze do you used?
This is the anti-freeze specified by Ford: Motorcraft SuperPlus antifreeze, or coolant to Ford specification WSS-M97 B44-D
I drained it and put my coolant back but was wondering y it didn't take all the 5 liters got about 2 liters left
Sounds normal. It's almost impossible to completely drain the cooling system.
I've have drained just over two litres.

Can you just top it up without bleeding it?
The bleeding procedure prescribed by Ford is described in the video.
Sorry - I misread your message. Yes, you can top up the cooling system without having to bleed it afterwards.
