  • It's possible to program the hubs from the LEGO Powered Up system with a new programming environment similar to scratch with the latest Pybricks update. Pybricks is compatible with the Powered Up City hub, the LEGO boost move hub, the Control+ technic hub, the mindstorms robot inventor hub and both hubs from SPIKE Prime and SPIKE essential.

There is no block coding option for EV3 at this time. Block is currently supported by anything using the Powered Up options. I asked them since we have EV3, trains, Boost Move, and Spike Prime hubs at our house and the kids and I are just starting to learn Python (husband flashed Java on the EV3 hub since he was using it to teach programming classes to college freshmen several years ago). I believe they are thinking about it. But Pybricks Python will work on EV3.

But the original EV3 programming environments still work

@@lauraschilling5088 there actually is a block-supported language for the EV3. Its a popular and simple website called scratch. But it does not support all the EV3 motors and stuff. Like the gyro-sensor.
