Alright I got an incredible round here, I had th share this before even watching the video actually
    1. Immediatly recognized the Faroe Islands, took me some time to find the right city until I finally found one with the right geographical features (both land and waters) and the unmissable football pitch. Still landed a bit far from the actual location since the road we're in is not on the map, but got 5,000 nonetheless.
    2. Again, an immediate reaction that it would be extremely far north in Russia. I zoomed in somewhere, saw a city, looked around and... I don't know how, but I found a street corner that exactly matched the picture. 5,000 points out of nowhere.
    3. I knew that building was in Canberra so I found the street pretty quickly - but where exactly ? I spotted the two buildings north of us, the one with pink trees and the one that looked a tad Asian; I saw on the map that the embassies of Japan and Thailand are next to each other, so it was easy then to pinpoint the place. 5,000 points.
    4. Thought France at first (I'm French), hesitated a bit with Italy but the small signs on the garage doors were in French. Very light colors like that means South-East of France and it seemed like a big and... dirty, city. I thought of Marseille, and saw that there was something on the street signs above the actual street names. Couldn't read it of course since they're far, but it made me think of possibly and arrondissement number - and only three cities in France have them : Paris, Lyon, Marseille. I chose a spot there, 6km away. 4,979 points.
    5. My first guess was a big city in the US and the few signs in English confirmed it to me. I saw the "3rd St." South of us, a road that would be horizontal on the map. It seemed like a very hot place: palm trees, cacti, even a dead cactus. I looked in Vegas, LA, San Diego, Phoenix, Albuquerque, El Paso, San Antonio, but all of the "13th St" in these cities were either vertical or named another way (the one in LA I think). I kept looking, went to Tucson, finally found a 13th street the way I wanted it and landed there... One street away from the actual point, incredible. 71 meters for 5,000 points again.
Total for me is 24,979 and a new record on the Urban World map!

In the US, the small satellite dishes all point towards just south of Texas, as the satellites they use are in geosynchronous orbit near there. On the last one(house on the left at the timestamp), it is pointing southeast and pretty much straight up, so you know it's both northwest of there, and relatively close.

1st Round: Funny how the Faroe Islands have such a characteristic landscape, you can quickly recognise it if you've seen it before! - 5000 points
2nd Round: I was able to tell this was the far north of Russia, not just because of the piles of dirty snow that have apparently been there for many months, but also because of the trees: You can see they all look somewhat stunted, not exceeding a certain height, as is typical of the harsh climate at the edge of the tundra. One of the only Russian cities with street view coverage so far north is Vorkuta, and I was able to spot the stadium and get the exact location. - 5000 points
3rd Round: You can get a good clue that this is Canberra by looking closely at the entrance to the building straight north: There is the flag of another country (Thailand as it turned out) meaning this is probably an embassy, hence we are in the capital! The important building at the end of the avenue had to be the parliament then, and the rest was not too difficult. - 5000 points
4th Round: There is a distinctly Mediterranean feel, and French writing on a "No Parking" sign confirmed that this is southern France. The somewhat gritty look of the city made me think this has to be a port rather than one of the resort cities of the French Riviera, so I went for Marseille. Looking down the street to the southeast you can tell that we are on the north-facing slope of a hill, so I was able to spot the exact location. - 5000 points
5th Round: The vegetation made me think of Southern California, but the only other specific clue being the "13th St" sign, there was too little to go on... Disappointed to have missed the chance of a perfect score, I just clicked randomly in Los Angeles. - 3022 points
Total: 23022 points. Definitely a hard game, with no giveaway clues on any round! Very enjoyable nevertheless! Keep the videos coming!

Hoped for the best but was sad to see that it was Arizona. Didn't really expect that much vegetation/somewhat green stuff in Arizona. Also that one house's arches totally liked like a California thing.

On the first one I clicked an area that somewhat correlated in Iceland. I did consider Faeroe Islands, but I guess I didn't think he would have any town but Torshavn. I should know better lol
You killed me with that 2nd pick man. No way anywhere in Bulgaria would look that cold and desolate and just...sad. I was surprisingly close to the right town in northern Russia, got about 3,000 points.
I had a similar thought process as you on the Australia one, so I guessed western Sydney.
I guessed southern Italy for the 4th one. D'oh!
I'm really proud of myself on the 5th one - it helps that I'm from the western U.S., but I investigated a few towns in California and Arizona and found the exact spot based on 13th street and surrounding buildings/road layout. 5,000 points!

I just played one of my craziest games yet. A grand total of 22177 points.
#1. I started off really poor, I saw a sticker on the car saying ''condoms prevent minivans'' (lol) which threw me off completely. Where I initially thought about Iceland and Faroer, I ended up going for northern Scotland just due to a simple english sticker.
    3555 points. 497km off.
#2. The Soviet buildings and the wasteland they were surrounded by made it clear that it was northern Russia (for me at least hahah). I went all the way up in Russia and randomly picked one of the bigger cities. With a lot of luck I managed to guess the correct city.
    4992 points. 2.3km off.
#3. Had to be Australia, no idea where though. For some reason I ignored the mountains and went for Melbourne. Still not too bad for Australia I guess.
    3641 points. 446 km off.
#4. I have gone over the whole of France twice looking for a town starting with Se as that's all I managed to read off the sticker on the van. Couldn't find anything sadly. The city looked like the south of France though and (in my opinion) looked a bit poorer than usual in the Cote d'Azur. Therefore I went for Marseille as it's a bit more rough than other cities in that area.
    4994 points. 1.6 km off.
#5. Looked like Arizona/New Mexico to me due to the dryness and the buildings. I looked for 13th street/avenue in Phoenix first but that didn't add up as it had to be a horizontal street instead of vertical. The next city I looked into was Tucson, the street was horizontal here so I went for it.
    4995 points. 1.5 km off.
Overall great game with a lot of luck. But I'm very happy with my score nonetheless :)

    My game:
1: 2166. Picked some random town on the northwest coast of Norway. I didn't even know the Faroe Islands existed.
2: 4990. Big frozen dirty ice on the ground = Vorkuta.
3: 4250. Like you I picked a westbound highway out of Sydney.
4: 3415. Went La Teste-de-Buch, southwest of Bordeaux. Somehow peeking out of the alley I thought that the apartments looked like they were facing the water, so I needed it to be on the west coast of France, in the south due to the climate. Unfortunately I forgot France has a second "west coast" on the south coast.
5: 2544. Went Salt Lake City, dumbly. The palm trees made me nearly pick Phoenix but I thought it didn't look hot enough to be Phoenix so I went north. Oh well, still a pretty good game.
    Total: 17365

You need to up your France game mate, you're always way off in France. If it is French but the buildings are brown, you're in Belgium. Normandy and Brittany look a lot like southern England but sunnier and more flowerly. South West of France has a Basque feel to it. North East of France seems a bit German, Swiss or luxemburgian but the buildings are usually more yellowy or beige. South East of France looks like Italy but the colour of the buildings is lighter, white or beige (in Italy it is more orange, light brown, red). Every in between is a mix of these depending of where you are (except for Paris). Also French liscense plates used to be white in front and yellow on the back. 10 years ago they changed it to all white.

Being very into aviation and flight sim in younger years that is Faroe Islands main airport indeed, Vagar Airport. In fact only airport I am sure, but there are some helipads I think thought in other places. I use to fly there sometimes since I liked going to off the beaten path places a lot. I used Isle of Man as a base and Southampton a lot too. But I am American from Spokane, WA. But being into aviation is almost a geographical subset too. As you learn about where all the biggest airports are correspond to huge cities and then learn how busy and where smaller ones are and it snowballed for me into they come hand in hand pretty much. I just don't play flight sim anymore really but that doesn't mean someday I wouldn't get back into it, but I am still into aviation and of course the reason I am here, geography. As far as more info on the Vagar Airport I recall its not on the island the largest town is on because of course the terrain is very hilly and hard to find flat surfaces to put an airport. So the airport is on a site they could fit one which wasn't on the main towns island. Which without even looking up I know is Torshavn. I know there is an accent symbol in it I think but oh well lol.

    My performance:
Round 1: Didn't quite pinpoint Faroe Islands like you did haha. Managed to guess Norway like you pointed out, and thought I found an inlet that made sense. Was actually quite a ways off. 2874/5000.
Round 2: Correctly guessed Russia, but I thought it was a lot closer to Moscow. Didn't realize how far north it was since the mountains didn't look that snow-capped in the distance... I guess it was summertime? 1671/5000.
Round 3: I guessed Eastern Sydney, found a stretch of highway that made sense but Canberra oh man! Good round, 4195/5000.
Round 4: Saw the Citroen and the building architecture, guessed Southern France like you did. Didn't think that the sea was quite that close -- I actually went slightly northeast of Marseille, in a small city near the mountainous region. Also tried to read the reflection of the government vehicle in the car on the right, but didn't make much headway since I didn't use a mirror =P. 4586/5000.
Round 5: Car on the right, English writing on the signs. Guessed USA/Canada initially. Then I saw the palm trees and thought California/Hawaii (building style is very California though). "13th Street" made me think we were in a grid-like small city block, but I still wasn't sure where in California. I went around the various suburbs of Los Angeles looking for somewhat sketchy places like Compton, etc. I settled for a 13th Street near an elementary school in a small suburb in SoCal. Didn't expect it to be Arizona wtf. 3011/5000.
Overall: 16337/25000. Not bad for my first go at one of these after months of watching you. I'm hoping to improve next week. Cheers man.

Got a total of 18,214 on this.
    1. I could just make out some text saying "Føroyar" on a car. I could only find tiny places on the map so I went for Torshavn (4,899)
    2. I just zoomed in on some northern Russian town AND I PICKED THE RIGHT ONE! (4,997)
    3. Rookie mistake, didn't look at the traffic. Went for Vancouver. It was not, but somehow I earned one point.
    4. Read some French on a car, went for Marseille. Could've gone closer to the center (4,990) (France used to have yellow plates btw)
    5. Went for San Diego (3,327)

I guessed southern California as well, but I smiled when you said, "Tuscon, not far from California, to be fair." It's 250 miles away. That's like saying, "Liverpool, not far from London, to be fair." Well yeah, they're in the same country, so that's something.

19917. I 5k'd rounds 1, 3 and 5. The mixture of white (ACT) and yellow (NSW) number plates suggested we were in Canberra, and there was only one road that matched. Round 5 was one of my craziest ever rounds - it seemed like the SW US, I picked Tucson and found the street in about 10 seconds.
But this game will always be most memorable for you mixing up Vorkuta and Blagoevgrad. You owe Bulgaria an apology :-)

The "Olympic" stadium is in Vorkuta, a town in the far north of Russia. It's a desolate and interesting place. It was featured in Tomeau Coll's 2009 photo essay "Last Town in Sovietland". Link:

First time I beat you, by little though (16057).
    1. I went for Iceland :/
    2. Went for northern Russia, but about 1000 KM away.
    3. I picked somewhere around Melbourne, the funny thing is I have visited Canberra about 20 years ago and I didn't recall that structure.
    4. Went for Toulouse
    5. Looked for an East/West 13th street in major California cities, no luck, then started moving eastward and Denver seemed convincing. :/

1: Picked Iceland, because I thought there was less of a chance for a football pitch on Faroer...as it turns out, this was apparently not on the map, so it could be a recent additon. 2904
2: This was a stupid one. I figured it was the far north of Russia, but didn't click anywhere close to enough in the north. As soon as I clicked, I remembered a former round I've seen in or near Vorkuta. I also have no idea how you get Bulgaria from that, much less Sofia. 3120
3: Went for Longreach. Didn't recognize the building, obviously. 1842
4: That shot is now completely different, so I didn't mess around with that van in any way, because it just wasn't there. The buildings looked French-African to me, so I thought Tunisia and picked Sfax. 2360
5: My impression was somewhere between California and New Mexico. I should probably have picked the LITERAL inbetween, then...instead I went for San Diego. 3341
Total score is 13567 aka rubbish. Barely places me in Top500...

Round 1 - Definitely felt like the Faroe Islands. Loved the condom sticker. I just looked around the map and took an educated guess and got 5000.
Round 2 - I was pretty sure it was Russia. Problem is, it was the other side of Russia from where I guessed. 585 points.
Round 3 - Complete guess in Australia. But I guessed near Brisbane. 2591 points.
Round 4 - Knew it had to be around the Mediterranean. Should've guessed France because of the Citroen but I guessed in Spain. 2950 points.
Round 5 - This one was just complete luck. It felt like the southern US to me and I saw a 13th Street sign. I just picked Tuscon at complete random, found 13th Street and noticed that building silhouettes on the map matched nearly perfectly to what I could see in street view. 5000 points.
In conclusion, 16,126 points. Damn you Russia!

    Not as bad as recently..
    1. 5000 - Knew it was faroe islands from the grass roof, used the inlet and river to help figure out which town.
    2. 945 - No bloody clue. Had a hunch it was northern Russia but went for the south. More fool me
    3. 5000 - Knew the parliament building and went from there
    4. 4303 - Went for Perpingnan - I thought Marseille would be too obvious.
    5. 4994 - Total guess - this jammy f**ker got 1km away. Same 13st, different ave.
Total 20242 - Not bad! Certainly better than my last few
