My friends and myself camped on a bit of land not far from the Clachaig inn. We were on our way back to Manchester after a week of camping and hiking in and around the north west highlands. Because it was the last night we decided to go to the Clachaig inn and basically have a celebration of our fantastic week away. Let’s just say after working our way from left to right trying the single malts behind the bar on a shelf that was full of single malts we were all absolutely…well I’m sure you can imagine. Great video. Magnificent views. Cheers.
I was once asked which pub I went to most often . Even though I live in Manchester the answer was The Clachaig as then we were spending so much time in The Glen. One of the best places on the planet. Thanks for another highly enjoyable video.
I’m still watching, but I wanted to tell you that I saw and was able to photograph the Northern Lights right from my front yard in Oregon! It was stunning, and a first ever sighting for me…bucket list, tick!!!!! Thanks as always for your videos. Cheers, and ATB
Great stuff. I too was looking north on Friday. Then I noticed. Amazing display. Managed a Timelapse. Just fantastic. I’m at the clachaig Saturday. Start of an epic trip. Those mountains looked stunning in the light. Great video again. Cheers. 👍
Hi Murray. Wow!!! Such beautiful photography both still & video. I particularly love Glen Coe as my name is Paul Coe. I was last in the area (taking part in a national 3 peaks challenge) in 2017. I missed the big light show but I did catch a hint of it, where I live, south of Manchester. I was absolutely gutted that I missed all the bright red, green, purple and blue. I feel like I'm the only one in the world who didn't see it!! Oh well. I particularly love the videos as I'm still recovering from a recent chemo treatment. I lost muscle mass n there's a local hill that's a mere 1100 ft which is a mere foothill. I drag myself up there and from the top, looking across the cheshire plains, there's an unobstructed view all the way to Snowdon dome 90 miles or so away. If I manage to get driving this year one of the 1st things I'll do will be to head to the Glen n get up to the secret Glen! Thanks for the top notch content. Btw, I agree with others that your B & W photography is amazing!
Hi Paul, hope your recovery is speedy and you get up to Glen Coe once you are able to. The Aurora was amazing and is apparently at its height for the next wee while so hopeful more shows next season :) Thanks for watching ATB Murray
Great video Murray and great to see the missus on here... ( I am pretty convinced your day job has skills that cross over into the channel) My ancestors were Scottish so always proud to see the homeland on here. I was up thru there many years ago as good Boy's Brigade member . Starting in Ayr we drove up to Aviemore to camp and hike the Cairngorms, no ski lift up all hiking , lift down only to complete a BB badge. I have hiked many of the Glens of County Antrim in NI. Take care on the trails......... Robin, the great great great grandson of Robert the Bruce,.(Lying like a sive)LOL
Apologies for the lack of comments recently Murray I was on holiday in Greece! Back now so I'll get tuned back in. Managed the Glas Maol Circuit last weekend and doing Ben Lui and Beinn a Cleibh on the bank holiday. Excellent as always and I'll check out your video from tonight soon. ATB
Superb Murray. Excellent. I'm amazed at that drone shot where it's heading into the face of the mountain then rises up while you're marching alone sideways to it! I felt like it was going to crash into it! I got some nice shots of the Aurora from the back garden in EK too, Saturday night I think. Atb...Terry
Well I'm speechless Murray. Having missed the aurora on the Friday evening, when they were even visible in the middle of the city for the first time I can remember, we then wasted Saturday evening searching for them and not seeing much at all. While we were out I was thinking "if only we were in Glencoe"! We love the Clachaig, have stayed in their log cabins many times, and I used to wild camp their back in the day before it got too popular and was banned :) Nice to see you on Dinner Time Buttress too, something I've avoided for far too long!
fantastic - I did see a few tents camped not far from the Clachaig - TBH I wasnt aware it was banned but I dont tend to camp down in the Glen very often - usually get up high to avoid the midge !!lol Hope this good weather holds and who knows if we get another mega aurora at some point!! Thanks for watching Murray
Brilliant as always! The drone footage is immense on videos like this, takes things to another level literally. Love your photograph's too,i must admit i have a soft spot for black and white images & those you put up early on were absolutely superb. The younger generation probably wouldn't share my love of b&w images but in my opinion i think they really do take some beating. Thanks as always for all the effort driving/hiking/videoing & editing & then sharing your adventures with all of us,i & many other's really appreciate it.
Absolutely loved this video Murray. The aurora was stunning to see and we were lucky down in Suffolk to see this as well so got plenty of pictures. Scenery as always brilliant and it was nice to see your wife accompany you with the dogs. Looking forward to part two of this one. ATB.
Thanks Julie - hoping for more solar activity next winter/autumn hopeful something similar to this one (I'll not be so lazy with my capturing if it happens again !!lol:) Thanks for watching ATB Murray
Great footage Murray and a bold climb for the first summit. Amazing seeing the Northern Lights of which I missed and was staying in KinlochMoidart that evening. I was further down the Glen on the Friday celebrating my 70th birthday on Beinn A Bheiththir which I climb every birthday with a 0 in it. I had rented two cottages in KinlochMoidart so as I can celebrate with my family after climbing the hill. I could kick myself as I went to bed around midnight after a great day and night and missed the lights but the family got fantastic photos. In my 70 years I have never seen the Northern Lights so it would have been the crowning glory of my day. However watched the footage on Mullardoch on one of your videos and this video. Great adventure again really appreciate your efforts.
Wow! So spectacular. I had no idea that the Northern Lights could appear in the south until I watched this video. It explains why around midnight on Friday night I was reading in bed, and I suddenly heard six firework explosions. I got out of bed, looked out of the window, wondered what it was all about and grumpily went back to bed. My bedroom faces north. Next day I saw all the glorious photos posted on social media by people living just a few streets away! Great footage of Dinnertime Buttress too and lovely photos at the end.
👏👏👏👏👏 could be your best yet for me but that’s because I don’t think there is anywhere better than Glencoe. Great video , all on tenderhooks for next episode , can you not boxset 😂😂👏👏👏
Claire caught an incredible show in Wales (by accident) - see WildBeare - worth watching. Gotta love Glencoe and my fav pub at Clachaig Inn. Beautifully filmed as usual and fab photos!.
fantastic - just watched - amazing photos she got and fate was on her side camping a little higher up as opposed to in the valley :) Thanks for watching ATB Murray
Your output is amazing, Murray. Thanks for filling us in on what we missed and showing an epic route. We went down Glen Etive that very Friday and climbed Ben Starav. We returned to Arrochar, got ourselves comfy in "The Wee Yin" and never stuck our heads outdoors again that night, so no Northern Lights for us, nor the next night.
Thank you Murray, Glen Coe is spectacular in your lovely drone footage, mountains here in Scotland are more than equal to any famous mountain range in the world I think, finally managed to catch up with the 11 videos I missed, binged watched them on Wednesday evening 😁 sorry I have no been about to watch as normal, work, broken car, poorly dog and life has got in the way, but light at the end of the tunnel...the Northern Lights were amazing down here, stayed up for hours watching them in the garden, first time we had ever experienced them in real life, it were just brilliant! (will comment on the other ones I have missed to help for the algorithm, but don't feel you need to answer as I know you are busy.) Thanks again for a lovely video.

Aah smashing video. I got an Aurora alert after l was in my bed so headed off to our dark spot, sadly too cloudy. I could see something was going on, but no good footage. Was in the Glen on Saturday as well for a geology tour, im sure l will bump into you some day. Nice to see you and the boss and pups. Loved the photo of Lexi. Nice one murray. Always good to enjoy a rare warm day in the UK mountains even if it does make the climb a little tougher! Nice refreshing dip at the end though! Hopefully Gerrys knee is on the mend.
Brilliant night to be up in Glencoe. I was just down the road from you on rannoch moor camping on the islands of loch ba. We had breathtaking views. Great video 👍
You had great weather and very lucky capturing the Northern lights Your photography is stunning and your dog photograph is beautiful I didn’t think you would actually go in the water…very brave Looking forward to the continuation…well done 🇨🇦❤️
Another cracking video Murray. The composition of that shot when you stopped for lunch (with the Aonach Eagach and Ben Nevis in the background was just perfect. 👏👏👏
Was in Torridon Fri Night and had planned to walk through the night - was shocked to see most of the aurora activity in the South, and didn't expect to see anything in May! Incredible night combined with a Sunrise and ace scramble made it unforgettable. Hoping to do Dinnertime Buttress and a few other scrambles in Glencoe!
Beautiful video, great pictures 👌 & what fantastic blue skies! Another very enjoyable watch 🎉. Glad you got to see the Aurora. Can't believe I actually saw some colours on that Friday night. Just standing on our drive on the edge of a town in the Midlands! Amazing 🥳
wow......amazing. Piece of artwork, thoroughly enjoyed watching this. I agree - I had a week in late April hiking in Glen Affric, etc. When the sun is out and there are no midges....it's fantastic...Scotland at its best.
Thanks Garry - agreed - when the sun is out in spring and the midge are no where to be seen , then things are good :) I am sure they will be re emerging this weekend though unfortunately!!! lol Thanks for watching Murray
Magical views of both the aurora and the mountains. I managed to be asleep during the light show - doh! Dinnertime Buttress is on my to-do list - it looks like a fab way up the mountain. Thanks for sharing as ever.
It’s a quick and steep way up - not as good as some routes on the Buachaille but worth a visit for sure Alasdair :) Aurora was out again on Friday night and managed to get a wee sneak of it but not as powerful as week before ! Thanks for watching Alasdair Murray
Dropped on there with the conditions. It's been pretty nice recently up here. Hopefully not our summer 😂😂 off to the northern Cairngorms tomorrow for a day walk on the plateau while this weather lasts. thanks for sharing
Lovely video, so nice to get a glimpse of your wife too. Beautiful colours, thank you for taking us along! I'm in Ontario but friends and family in Victoria, BC, saw northern lights this week too, very rare for that region. Cheers from Canada!
I was watching from Erskine Murray and although seen them loads of times before was looking north and happened to turn round to check on Wee Lucy (the cavapoo) and BOOM. Fist time I have seen them develop from the south and what a show it was. Seen the coronal hole too.
Really enjoyed again and inspired me to do my first Glencoe walking video through seeing your work. Thanks ! We went up the lost valley . See what you think, it's a start I suppose 🤣🏴👍
I completely missed the aurora on the Friday night (long story), but I camped out on Dartmoor Saturday night....saw feck all! I at least managed to put my tent up properly first time....so not all bad! lol
Hi Jules - shame you never saw them - seems like Friday night was the night to capture them for sure:) # Thanks for watching ATB Murray P.S Glad you got the tent back out :)
Great video! And for a change I’m sat in my motorhome in the Highlands watching your video. The weather is amazing at the moment - I’ve a feeling it’s going to be special year in the highlands. As always, thanks for sharing.
wow wow beautiful great video great 2 see your wife and love the dogs glencoe is a beautiful place murray love your videos look forward till next week👍👍
This was stunning, thank you! You may very well have another chance to catch the aurora next week. There's a huge sunspot making it's way around and they're calling for some pretty big solar storms.
And the winner is...... Our Muzza😊. I'll probably watch this video ,like so many other of your films, countless times. Over n over again. Top drawer buddy and hello to mrs Muzza not to mention wee doggy Muzza too..🫵👍🏼🫡

Morning Murray. Yes, the yellow troosers are back🤣 Will never get tired of watching you walking in Glencoe. I hope you and Leanne enjoyed your break. All the best Dave 😀⛰🥾🏴
Great video a fair bit of work there ...was in Glencoe back in the late 90s Winter and Summer....we stayed in a few bunkhouses on the Summer trip the Winter was a guided mountain Winter course. Great times!
Wow! Lost for words. Spectacular video in my favourite location. Can’t thank you enough for such superb photography , but I do envy your meal at the Clachaig! Stay safe. Thanks again.🏴👏🥾❤️
Murry, fabulous video and chat. You project your joy of being in the hills. The Northern Lights footage was great. Thanks again for all your efforts in producing these excellent videos.
An excellent video Murray. You captured such breath taking scenery. Glencoe is certainly a beautiful spot to visit and to explore. It's great seeing you enjoying a little family time. I look forward to the next leg of your adventure. Thanks for sharing.
A fine looking scramble & family adventure Murray. As for the aurora, missed it anaw 🥴Asleep by 11. It looked good down out way at the Berwickshire coast. Mind you, it looked good everywhere. 😏
Correct statement - some of the photos of the Aurora from away doon south were amazing - even over central Europe- it’s was out on Friday evening too and caught some footage on a sneaky wild camp (today will be spent editing in front of a pc - wish I was in Torridon tho!! - have fun 🤩 Murray
I remember leaving my work on a Friday night in the 1975 hoping to thumb a lift , or get the bus heading to Glencoe for a weekend climbing heading to the clachaig pitching a tent along with 50 other like minded hair climbers in breach’s and leather boots fantastic days . Now you can’t pitch a tent in the Glencoe due to the NTS sad. Dinner time buttress nice route get mega wet but is a excellent winter route
I slept through friday night, blissfully unaware, and was gutted seeing photos in the morning. I felt worse though for the fella I met packing away his tent at the Linn of Dee on Sunday morning. I asked if he'd seen the aurora and he replied 'is that what it was? my tent lit up but I didn't want to put my book down.'
Okay I think technology has a serious vendetta against me Murray, don't know what happened to the comment I left last night. Just came to show the vid to my husband and said ummm, what happened to it? Not only did I point out how this may be my most fav video yet - seriously, the magical light show (thankful for noisy people just this once!), plus the way you panned around and also got the different drone views left me awestruck, but also loved the ambient music you used. The puppers! You're right, looked like you were about to keel over in the morning 😂Wonderful banana eating spot. Was really nice seeing your wife join you this time. Ahhh that pool! if I may, would also like to recommend some other great music: Hammock, Helios, A Winged Victory for the Sullen, Johann Johannsson, Max Richter, This Will Destroy You, and Sigur Ros. Anyway, my husband enjoyed your video as well (he too said "wow" at your views), and I just can't thank you enough, your hard work means so much!
Thanks 🙏 I saw your comment on Twitter earlier and wasn’t sure if you had commented 😂 technology eh ! Hope you and you husband enjoyed the video :) Thanks for watching as always Murray

wow......amazing. Piece of artwork, thoroughly enjoyed watching this. I agree - I had a week in late April hiking in Glen Affric, etc. When the sun is out and there are no midges....it's fantastic...Scotland at its best.
Thanks Garry - agreed - when the sun is out in spring and the midge are no where to be seen , then things are good :) I am sure they will be re emerging this weekend though unfortunately!!! lol

Enjoy!
Thanks for watching Alasdair

It’s a fabulous part of Glencoe 👌👍👍
I was watching from Erskine Murray and although seen them loads of times before was looking north and happened to turn round to check on Wee Lucy (the cavapoo) and BOOM. Fist time I have seen them develop from the south and what a show it was. Seen the coronal hole too.
twas a fine evening and whata nice surprise to see them the aurora to the south as opposed to the north :)
Really enjoyed again and inspired me to do my first Glencoe walking video through seeing your work. Thanks ! We went up the lost valley . See what you think, it's a start I suppose 🤣🏴👍
Living the dream, Murray

This was stunning, thank you! You may very well have another chance to catch the aurora next week. There's a huge sunspot making it's way around and they're calling for some pretty big solar storms.
fingers crossed :) another aurora show would be fantastic

A fine looking scramble & family adventure Murray. As for the aurora, missed it anaw 🥴Asleep by 11. It looked good down out way at the Berwickshire coast. Mind you, it looked good everywhere. 😏
Correct statement - some of the photos of the Aurora from away doon south were amazing - even over central Europe- it’s was out on Friday evening too and caught some footage on a sneaky wild camp (today will be spent editing in front of a pc - wish I was in Torridon tho!! - have fun 🤩

Great doggy pic at end Murray. Been in that pool after doing Aonach, superb
a braw wee pool for a dook :)
Dinner time buttress nice route get mega wet but is a excellent winter route
when Eric, sorry Murray, eats a banana an amazing transformation occurs. Sorry Murray great video just couldn't get Banana man out of my head lol
It gives me my powers 🍌
I slept through friday night, blissfully unaware, and was gutted seeing photos in the morning.
I felt worse though for the fella I met packing away his tent at the Linn of Dee on Sunday morning. I asked if he'd seen the aurora and he replied 'is that what it was? my tent lit up but I didn't want to put my book down.'
at least he would have been able to read the words a little easier in the brighter light ;)lol

We slept through it too and then spent Saturday night looking in vain 😭😭😭
Looked more than 11km Murray but as always a good vibe.
Felt more than 11km too 😂😂
Okay I think technology has a serious vendetta against me Murray, don't know what happened to the comment I left last night.
Hope you and you husband enjoyed the video :)
Thanks for watching as always
