When Plans Go Awry : Head to The Black Rock

- When Plan A fell through a number of other factors then led to plans b & c also being binned - however Plan D was not too shabby and a return to the Black Rock or Cliff after a few years following a TV appearance long ago in this spot! Sometimes you don't have to travel far to get epic views and have a grand time....

Hi Aliobhan - always nice having Lexie along - she loves the mountains :) knees ok but the strapping goes on when two consecutive days are had to help them out :) fingers crossed they stay ok !!
Plans may have gone awry but it still looks like you had a great weekend with your wife, dogs and hills. Unassuming as usual, and that's one of reason why it's always a joy to watch your videos 🙂👍
Thank you - was a fine few days in and around Glen Coe - such a wonderful place to spend some time :)

Found you at last on Grand Tours... Glad they agree with all of us here on your channel - you are a photographer, a wonderful photographer... capturing the essence of the life of Murray Wilkie and always enriching ours. Thank you, lovely man.
Haha - thanks Joan - was actually on Malis podcast last night talking about the photography thingy bits too lol 😂 👍👍🙏🙏
We are watching tonight on YT, was it series 1 episode 4?
@@jeg569 I found it on YT. A channel called Andi J had uploaded it. Grand Tours of Scotlands Lochs Legends of the West (28:50) Not sure Andi J had the season and episode correct but it is the one starring Murray (toward the end of the show). Hope this helps. Greetings from Western Australia.
@@joanhuggett5164 the actual programme.

@@jeg569 oh - not sure - was the first episode of one of the series - not 100% it was series 4 tho 🤔
Another great video Murray.
The views were spectacular.
Well done on the climb, nice to have your dog with you for company.
Thank you - it’s alway nice having wee Lexie along - she loved it ! 👌👍
You’re always on my tele’ Murray 😁👍
😂😂 that’s a scary prospect !! Lol
Then glen is simply stunning as always
Love the thumby and that shot of you, your wife and the doggos walking off into the sunset 🌄. Sums up what looks to have been a very special weekend away. Plan D looked pretty damn good to us! Hope Gerry is back on form soon, but always nice to see little lexi out in the hills with you too, a pocket sized mountain dog for sure!🐕👍. Thanks for taking us along! Enjoyed as always,
Shell and Pete
Thanks Folks - had fun and always nice to have Lexie with me on the hill :)
Vthat episode with Paul is still on you tube remember it well .me and Wendy cheated and took the ski lift up that mountain but the views were fantastic
it was great to meet Paul and his crew up there - such a great TV show. I was wishing I had taken the ski chair up too - wouldve saved my legs lol

You had me at black pudding rolls! lol Are you a fruit pudding man? A roll with bacon and fruit pudding is one of my favourite things....and If I'm feeling particularly dirty, I'll chuck in a Lorne sausage. Anyway, great trip and thanks for sharing your weekend with us. 🙂
Afraid I’m more of a black pudding man but not adverse to some fruit pudding too though - is that one of your five a day Jules ? 😂👍
@@ScotlandsMountains I'm going to say.....yes it is....a bit like Irn Bru....because that's orange in colour...so it must have oranges in it....so it must be part of your 5 a day....right? lol
0:05 Re the chairlift, a couple of years ago I gave up on the summit of Meall a' Bhùiridh due to high winds.
Annoyed with my "failure" I returned just 5 days later to complete the climb over MaB to Creise.
I had to have serious debate with myself as to whether taking the chairlift the second time was cheating or merely helping me to get back to where I given up previously. After all I had already walked up on foot.
In the end I couldn't let a chairlift be part of my hike and so trudged up under the lift once more 😅!
A lovely family weekend. As you say, you don't have to climb the biggest hills to get fabulous views. Plus, always have a backup plan! Your videos are always interesting & entertaining. Thanks for sharing. 👌
🙏

When you mentioned at 15.30 you stopped for something to eat, would that have been, erm, maybe by any chance, a scotch egg? found you on Paul great show and if anyone is searching it - Grand Tours of Scotlands Lochs : S1/E1. Legends of the West. Love the various formats, its refreshing. Cheers bud
Might have been a scotch egg (given the way Kexie is staring into my eyes I reckon definetly a scotch egg !! lol 😂
You can't beat those views. Thanks for sharing and greetings to your family, including the mutts. 😊

Great viewpoint from that wee hill. 😎Had this playing on the TV as I popped into the kitchen for a moment. Jeez what a racket. 🙉 Our 2 rescues barking away at your 2. We cannae watch anything with animals on TV 🙄😂
haha - brilliant - both mine rescues too and one of them loves when other dogs are on the tele!! I should make a video of that !!lol
Murray, I had to go to my Paul Murton DVDs after seeing this and I've just re-watched Legends of the West on his first series on Scotland's Lochs - and there indeed you are! I'll bet you two got on like a house on fire. 😊
My 6 minutes of fame :) they were a great bunch and I had a great time with Paul and his team :)
Another great adventure Murray.
I would definitely love to do that walk one day with you Murray.
Fantastic view's of the Buachaille.
Great image's.
Catch you on the next one mate.
Creag Dhubh is the “cry” of the Clan MacPherson. My husband went to a Clan gathering many years ago, and a hike up to the summit was one of the activities. So nice you have a little hiking buddy. Cheers, and ATB!
Brilliant - never knew that - always nice having wee Lexie with me - she loves the hikes in the mountains :) 👍👍
Brilliant double header Murray. Cheers 🥂

Time goes fast enough these days Murray.. Surely it's the middle of spring? 😊
Wonderful
So much beautiful scenery to enjoy.
What is the best time of year to go to the highlands When the midges are not as bad please? If anyone knows can you let me know please.
Hi - probably earlier in the year - April and May are good as midge aren’t as bad 👍
@@ScotlandsMountains thank you
Make a scotland mountains tshirt love the videos
You've had over 11 million views on TH-cam - so I think you're more famous than you realise!!! Probs more views than you got on the BBC!!!

Glen Coe caldera
Does taking the chairlift not just make it feel more Alpine.
Ah yes - indeed :) just not alpine huts for a cuppa ☕️ 😂👍
We found you on Grand Tours...
Firstttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt
I'm certain there will be some Munro purists along soon to confirm going up the chairlift would be cheating 🤣
brilliant - no comments as of yet - but waiting with baited breath ;) lol
I'm pretty sure you just did even if you tried to disguise it by saying someone else will soon 😂😅 ... nice try but it was you , you are that guy 😂
@@ScotlandsMountainsI once got ticked off by more than one purist on social media for confessing that I’d used an electric bike to cycle out to the foot of the remote Corbett Carn Ban! I think using a chairlift would have given them apoplexy!
More footage of Mrs Wilkie please Murray. Much better to look at than you !!
