- Sometimes things happen for a reason and I was on Plan C when something very special happened. It was also a penultimate trip to one of Scotland's most remote mountains and one I had yet to visit. A trip I wont forget anytime soon....

Husband doesn't normally watch you with me but he did, he's a fisherman and fished all the lochs you cover through your adventures he was really taken down a memory lane trip I thank you for this because he's lucky to be alive after suffering from heart problems since COVID he can't fish any more. What a magnificent film! I wonder if you know just how special this is for us Aussies who live in a hot, brown, dusty land most of the time.
It is quite wonderful to have such a lovely man bring his world to us time and time again. Saying thank you seems so inadequate but I do thank you, Murray, over and over.

I’ve said this before Murray but you are simply the best at portraying Scotlands mountains in all their glory. The quality of your filming, editing and commentary are nothing short of brilliant. I’m always amazed how you find time to set your camera retrace your steps and then film yourself walking towards it or away from it. Not many TH-camrs do that. It must take an enormous amount of time. Your live commentary is always fluent informative and interesting. And then the time editing and stitching it all together. To quote you, “absolutely fantastic “ Have a great Xmas and look forward to seeing more videos next year.

Stunning scenery, aurora and footage Murray
You are certainly in a run of wonderful epic videos Murray. I also started to think "you lucky *****" as you watched the aurora after the inversion, but then I remembered how hard you have to work to put yourself in those positions to see them. It took me back 30 years when I was physically capable of long multi-day wild camping trips up high, and some epics of my own in Kintail, the Cairngorms and on the Mamores etc.
Always great to have plans B and C, especially at this time of year, more power to you. That would be a heck of a trip in summer, let alone winter :)

Hi Murray, once again you when and done it!. A spectacular video, your commentary is superb and what views and the Northern lights. WoW the best video i have seen in 2023 mate. A massive well done to you 🙌🙌👏👏 and as always a big thank you for taking us on these superb adventures. THANK YOU.
Epic Murray. The snow, the lights, the camp, the views, the journey but its the knowledge of the effort made to bring that footage to us. Setting cameras up, co-ordinating drone circs. Everything that takes time, energy and precision, to make that film the 1st class version that it is alongside lugging the kit and looking after yourself in what is very remote terrain. I did that circuit in reverse in mid summer in one very long day, solo with 2 dogs and it was gruelling. Not using the boat is the best way of appreciating the vastness of that area. I also made my biggest faux pas another time solo with the same dogs when my navigation got complacent on Sgurr na Lapaich summit from the dam and I descended into Glen Strathfarrar in error arguing with my compass all the way!!. A tough lesson learnt with a full pack and tired dogs. Amazing mountains. Whats the app you recommend for northern lights warnings? I have got to experience them.
Hope it wasnt too much of a trek to get back on track - been there and done that a few times and it can be soul destroying!! hope you and the dogs got home eventually after your wee trip into Strathfarrar :)

Wow that was spectacular in so many ways. Plan C really did justice to the Scottish mountains in winter and with the northern lights how much better could it get, I doubt it would be possible. Brilliantly filmed and narrated. A special vlog.
Stunning - simply stunning video. After some miserable weather and life a bit hectic I was hoping to sneak a wee Ben A’an wander on Friday before Christmas . After watching this I feel I at least need to upgrade to the Cobbler 🤣. I must get out more in 2024.

Wow, that's going to take some beating, Murray. The shots of the aurora borealis with the backdrop of the snow-covered hills and the stars of 'The Plough' constellation riding above are just breath-taking. I can't begin to imagine what it must of been like to witness in person.

A real epic trip, but the high camp and the spectacular views of the Northern lights must have made it all worthwhile! As you observed, sometimes knowing when to back off and change plans beings a greater reward.

I hadn't watched a 'Scotland's mountains' video for one year.. This one is absolutely remarkable. The filming and editing is unbeatable. It should be presented to a competition or something similar. The camp in the ridge is memorable!

Murray, I've only been watching the channel for about 4 months or so, trying to catch up!. Thanks to my girlfriend for introducing me to it...She's feeling like I've run off with someone else, I watch these magnificent videos so much😄
I have to say, your film-making skills are really blossoming and its a real pleasure watching the drone footage. It captures the true majesty of our fantastic and beautiful country in such a dramatic way. I am ashamed to say that, having lived here all my life (close to 60 years), I still had no inkling of just how much incredible scenery and landscape we have here in Scotland. Of course, I've been to a few places myself, the postcard places...but Assynt, the Knoydart peninsula and Skye...oh my god, Skye! I must, simply must go and see these for myself. Hopefully my girlfriend and I will make the journey next year.

That was a classic trip. Those northern lights were spectacular and the views you got were unreal. One of the guys I know did all 12 of them in one go in the autumn as part of a charity he was raising funds for. Needless to say it took its toll. Another excellent one thanks again.

We use hotties hand warmers in our sleeping bag liners at night to keep our feet warm..
Beautiful video... when it ended I realised I was beaming from ear to ear due to the sense of being along on your adventure. Thanks for sharing. The conditions up top with almost no wind looked very, very special!
