Vowels are pronounced the same way every time.
a makes a short “ah” sound like the a in “above”
e makes an “eh” sound like the e in “let”
i makes an “e” sound like the e in “easy”
o makes a short “oh” sound like the o in “pole”
u makes an “oo” sound like the oo in “moo”
Inside of words, W can sound like V.
This is the only tricky rule that requires experience to get it right. Here are some loose guidelines:
First letter of the word: a w sound
After i or e: usually a “v” sound
After u or o: most frequently like “w.”

Thank you! Much easier now! I am a senior ukulele performer and singer who has played for hula dancers and it is nice to "see the music from the other side". Now I know what they are expected to do for each word of a song.

‘Uwehe good dance for tips, leg, knees and foots for all women and men’s practice hula dance. After these steps I had felt freedom in my leg.
I learned hula from my kumu hula in elementary school and even joined a halau during those elementary school years, but these moves were always in the advanced classes. I ended up doing worship hula with my church for years. So happy to pick up were I left off 10 years later!

This is a hard step to do as you get older!😮
This one is not difficult but ouch my legs! I need to workout my thighs urgently (or dance hula).
And the guys perform the same move, hands, etc.? (edited because I forgot the question mark)
By the way, maybe a count would help for us really beginners (I figured it out that it's an 8 count for 1 whole complete 'uwehe step)
hello your video satisfied some of my curiosity on the radio station Hawaii 105 through the Internet we've been listening for a while now where in California Mojave Desert the description given is way hey Omni and slide so you satisfied the inquiry as to way hay most likely the spelling for these Hawaiian words is not correct
this is a hard step!
