Aloha! I am a retired educator from Hawai'i and moving to mainland almost 16 years ago, I had stopped Hula but am now returning to a halau, and your videos are a tremendous kokua for me! I know this is an old video, but hopefully, you'll start making new ones! Mahalo nui loa!🤙🏽🌺
Mahalo nunui e kakou kumu hula! This is a God send for those of us trying to maintain our traditions and culture during this pandemic times! Mahalo Mahalo Mahalo!! It really helps to keep fit and get da keiki interested in hula! Especially when I can't always noho and pa'i without actually showing the steps. 'Aloha! Please keep making content so we can perpetuate our culture away from home!! 'Aloha! Mahalo!
I have taken hula lessons about 4 years ago and miss it. So glad I found you. We visit the islands twice a year. Sister moved to Kauai 1990 and I love visiting as often as possible. Some day I want to attend Merry Monarch Festival. Maybe when COVID is over
I’ve been trying to practice your hula at 73 years old my knees are not in great shape and did not realize how hard it is on Knees, you look so beautiful. Love your videos

Aloha. I really like this. It gives it a kahiko feel. I still have to review the steps. I’ve been listening but trying to get the hang of the gestures. I still need to learn them all. Your ipu sounds cool. It sounds almost like an ipu heke. I own a little ipu heke ole and a set of ‘ili’ili. Do you think you could do some lessons with those? That would be awesome! Mahalo and I’m looking forward to a new one soon.
You have good ears - I am using an ipu heke. I rarely teach with implements as it requires the dancer to have one. I will definitely still consider though. Keep working on your basics!
Mahalo nui for your channel! I'm taking lessons at the moment and still need a lot of work in between classes. Your instructionals are very helpful for a beginner like me.
Just found you! Love your videos, they are so well put together! Such a big help as I'm a beginner! With that, ... it's hard for me to know or see what my knees and feet should look like. Should the feet be flat alot, ... do my knees need to be closer? I am in a class, but I would love your instructions in a video covering that topic! (Like your hand work video, that was awesome!). As a newbie, I seem to still be having difficulties with understanding the feet, knees, hips. And it's so hard to determine that with the long Pa'u skirts. I searched far and wide on youtube for someone showing that in shorts or clothing that could allow me to see more clearly how I'm supposed to be doing it all! lol Thank you so much in advance.

I rarely see the waving of the hands and my Hula teacher tells us not to wave. Are there certain times when the wave is used?
Quelle grâce !
Elle est vraiment très douée ! :)
Aloha Eva - mahalo for subscribing and you compliment in French! How beautiful!
Both compliments made me smile!
Where do you get your pa'u skirts from???
I made them.
are you Kānaka Maoli? Do any of your profits go to supporting Kānaka resurgence and well being? It isn't clear on your website.
Mahalo

Ae
you need to flex your knee more, so you can see the hip movement
