Aloha Lynn and Mahalo a nui loa for your wonderful and patient instruction of the basic hula steps! I am talking in-person hula classes locally , one beginners and one intermediate class and enjoying them both and our Kumu very much. Your online instruction is fantastic, as I am able to review my steps from class and practice them over and over again. We are putting the basic steps to music and sometimes I am not versed enough to put hand snd leg movements together, especiallly with the Uwehe LOL! I look forward to practicing online with you and your easy-to-understand videos. Mele Kalikimaka and to the joy of Hula !!

"lele" means 'step'

my teacher teaches it where you put your entire foot down, not just with the ball of your foot. is there a correct way?

Each kumu has variations. This is the way my kumu taught me. You should follow what your kumu is teaching you;)
