  • In this video I walk through the install process for the Ole Man Emu Torsion bars, which are a part of their 2 inch lift kit for the 100 Series Lane Cruiser.
I also walk through the process I took to index and balance the torsion bars according to the guide from Slee below.

Any time the torsion bars are adjusted, they need to be indexed and balanced on both sides.
Ensuring the same amount of “droop” on both sides of the vehicle will help to keep the vehicle from pulling back and forth during suspension compression.
Keeping the OME droop between 50-60mm maximizes ride height without causing steering issues associated with over tightening the torsion bars.
    Time: 1 hour per side
    Difficulty: 2/5

This is great. Thanks for going through all this detail. I just got done filming a quick video of my reindexing, mind if I link folks to your video to learn even more?

Excellent video! I've got a 1999 LC with these torsion bars. I forgot to measure my original ride height and got some Dobinsons IMS Extended shocks. Do you know what the measurement should be from wheel to fender if I want to lift the car by 2.5 inches? I've got some OME upper control arms too, and am looking for alignment specs. Any recommendation on caster for mainly on road driving? Thanks in advance!
