    With the big shakeups happening in the ‪@ARB4x4Accessories‬ catalog as of late, we though it was the perfect time to talk our way down their three shock options and see how they stack up with each other. We are big fans of the recent updates to the venerable Nitrochargers in the guise of the new Nitrocharger Plus line, love the addition of the brand new MT64s, and of course you know we are can't say enough good things about the BP-51s. No matter which of these shocks you decide is right for you, it is safe to say OME is definitely bringing their A game to the market.

    Need an indepth video on condition based BP51 adjustments. On road, off-road, towing, carrying a slide in camper, whoops, etc.

    Need a video & review about MT64 for the 3rd Tacoma

    Living in Honduras, about 80% of driving is on rocky dirt and potholes. Obviously the BP51 is the best choice for comfort, but the budget isn't there for me. The MT64s look interesting. How well should they perform, comfort wise, in and unloaded Taco in this environment with the full suspension kit compared to stock? Thanks for the video

    Can you do a video explaining how you set up compression/rebound on the BP51's please?
    Very interested in your logic for setting up for corrugations, and also for softish sand.
    Thanks - David

    Thank you! But do they all have the same travel? Or different?

    • @ShockSurplus
      @ShockSurplus  27 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      by application they're likely going to be nearly the same extended lengths, maybe slightly different on compressed length for the MT64.

    Me watching this while still using non charged shocks because it's comfy at corrugation😅🤣🤣

    I heard the BP51 was going to be discontinued . Is that true? And if so, for how long after would you guys be able to service them for? Or is there a servicing kit that someone can purchase?

    Are the BP51s a true 3" lift suspension for a 4Runner? I've heard rumors and read forums that they are not really true 3" lifts but more towards 2.5" if even. If you want 3" you need to have excessive weight because if not any bump or pothole will feel like a sledgehammer in the front. Is this true?

    • @ShockSurplus
      @ShockSurplus  15 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      There's technically a way to get to 3" of lift, but its ILL-ADVISED! The thing we've found with OME shocks is their sweet spot is 2" of lift, while 3" results in regular top-out and much poorer ride, especially if its an unloaded 3". Going to 3" cuts the vehicle's down travel, and if the roads are poor, you'll feel harshness often.
      There are settings for 1.75" - 2.5" that should ride well, which we can help set you up with.

      @@ShockSurplus do you have any suggestions for a suggestion that does give 3" without the harshness? Looking to achieve that rather than spending my money on something that does not. TIA!

    MT64's for the win. I'm an overlander, so I constantly run heavy and I can absolutely attest that the 64's are VERY comfortable when loaded down Unloaded, they make my Taco drive a sports car; stiff in the right places and snappy in the rebound, my truck drives like it's on rails. Sorry, but I'm not a full time overlander and I'm not bombing trails. So I absolutely do not see the need for 51's, especially not when I get absolutely everything I need and then some from the 64's. That said, please understand that I did not purchase just the shocks, but rather, the entire suspension front and back and still made it out for less than 4k, including OME UCA's. The daily driver/weekend warrior does not need the 51's unless you just have that kind of money to burn.

      « They make my Taco drive like a sports car » so they are pretty stiff unloaded. So unloaded it is not plush at all, if I get that right ? I am tired of being bounced around on the original suspension and for the plush ride, I think the BP-51 might provide that, no?

    • @gabrielreyes8476
      @gabrielreyes8476 12 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@OldelCpt if you want to tone that down, then yes, the BP-51's could give you just about any ride you want. Personally, for me, I prefer the positive input. Then again, even unloaded, I still have a heavy bitch due to the under armor, rock sliders, winch and bumpers 🤪
