Bonsai again...I love it. Snorkeling in Bonaire and swimming with the turtles in Curacao. When we do an ABC cruise were definitely tracing your footsteps.This looks amazing. You guys have been so inspirational in starting our own adventure channel!

We're doing this ship and itinerary in Sept of 2024. Love these videos because although we have been to Aruba a couple of times, we have never been to Bonaire or Curaçao. Great ideas!!
Curaçao water color is as close to Tahiti as I have seen. So many shades of blue. This is one of my favorite ports

I did the train trolley ship excursion tour. It dropped us off at the Queen Emma Bridge and I walked back to the ship! It's a little bit of a walk, but stopped and shopped !love your videos !

We did this trip onboard Celebrity, we did Grand Cayman, Aruba, Curaçao and last Bonaire, all the islands are beautiful. Like you it was our second, both on Celebrity, thank you for taking us there again!

Loved the footage! I have been to Aruba and Bonaire but not Curacao yet! Especially liked the turtles..the first time i swam with them was in Bonaire (just off the beach not an organized tour) I was just out snorkeling and looked to my left and there was a huge 4 ft across sea turtle. It was magical to swim with her/him for awhile! Also saw my first octopus on that same trip. We are headed back in October (land trip) but would like to do an ABC cruise soon. That beach you went to after the turtles was absolutely beautiful!! Always enjoy your content! Looks like a fabulous trip!

Hi! I didn’t catch the second beach you went to. I even hit rewind to watch again. Lol Would you mind replying the name of it? Also, can you take a taxi to it or do you need excursion/ private? I’m definitely copying your day. It looked amazing. I looked at the carnival excursions but only found a semi submarine to see the turtles. I’m going in September. Thanks so much!
Hi, the beaches are Playa Piskado ( The turtles) and Playa Abou. Curacao is confusing because nearly all their beaches have more than one name. You can take a taxi to these beaches, it is usually over $100 ( per taxi not per person), you need to make sure you and your taxi driver have a set plan for the trip, usually they will wait for you and will take you to more than one stop. Be very clear with your driver and make sure he/she/They are clear with you on cost and the stops and the time frame. We are going back in January and are doing exactly this with a taxi so watch for that vlog on Virgin Voyages in January/February to come up so you can see how we manage this. I am a bit nervous, we are looking for a private excursion so you may see that option as well. Most of all, have fun. The turtles are magical. Hugs!

Reef safe lotion is safe for turtles. They are safe for sea life and reefs.
Oh that's good to know. I love the strawberries but I'd rather get Robert something he would like. I always thought it was safe but recently on excursions they tell you not to use even the reef safe as it is actually not safe. In Bonaire they asked us not to wear any sunscreen just sun clothing. Ugh.. it's like certain foods, this week it will kill you next week it will save you.. Hugs!

Did you find the ABC island ports to be very safe to walk around in?
We felt very safe. That is a very personal feeling so do keep that in mind. I personally would have walked around all the ports at night ( we did in Aruba) and not been worried at all. Hugs!
Your video was probably the most informative one I’ve come across when trying to see how deep you have to go to see the turtles so thank you! Do they rent those like green life vests there? Can I just buy snorkel gear from amazon or is there anything you recommend? First time going here !
Hi! Thank you! The turtles are amazing, have so much fun. They do have rentals but not every visit - we have been when the rental is closed or they have increased the pricing etc.. Amazon has inexpensive float vests and masks available. Get them well before your cruise and try them on and make sure they fit. Nothing worse than a leaky mask when you’re trying to see a turtle. The cruise ship usually will have a package for snorkeling but it is often over priced. All you really need is a mask and snorkel at this beach, the turtles come up to the shallow waters all the time. If you are going on a cruise line excursion they usually have gear available for use. I hope this answers your question. I hope you love the turtles as much as we did! We are going back again in January and can’t wait! Hugs!

Do you have any plans to sail on Norwegian out of Galveston? I would be interested in your thoughts regarding the Prima, which sails from December through March from Galveston.
Not yet on Prima. We really want to just can't sail the times it is in Galveston.. Sharon at Sea sailed the Prima! I highly recommend their channel. Hugs!

Hi, sorry for my delay! Yes, amazon sells snorkel vests... find one you like and bring it. Snorkel vest is important because you can inflate it to your needs... They are small and compact and not bulky like a life vest or pool float. They won't fully hold you up but they do take a lot of the work out of floating and snorkeling, offer support. Hope this helps a bit! Hugs!
Would love to know your thoughts on the private tour vs carnival tour? Which would you recommend for our upcoming trip?
Hmmm.. We did exactly the same thing on both versions... The price was a big difference so if budget is a concern then I would go with Carnival. That said, I would choose private if I could go again. The private was nice because it was just us and no big groups AND if we saw something along the way and wanted to stop we could ( you can set up a private excursion to de exactly what you want, it does not have to be what we did). There was no rush and we could stay at any of our stops for as long or as short as we wanted. Also, having our guide there to answer questions and take us to special places he loved was really nice. Lastly, in favor of the Carnival excursion - we had a turtle guide with us and he was amazing. He knew everything you could possibly want to know about the turtles and kept them ( and us) safe. He also took peoples cameras and dove down to get close ups of the turtles... that was something that made the Carnival excursion extraordinary. Does not mean he would be on the next excursion but he was on our first and he was the BEST. Hope this helps your decision a bit! Either way, I would book as soon as possible! Hugs!
Either is fine, difference in size of the group you are with.. ships tour will be a lot more people than private (usually). BUT when you get to the beach there is no telling how crowded it could be no matter what excursion you are on. We will be in Curacao again in a week and we are going private again because the ships excursion was sold out. So for us, private or ship excursion is fine.
