My Top 21 Best Beaches and Snorkeling in Curacao (In order from the south to the north)

- www.jordanoutside.com/curacao I just got back from an an amazing trip to Curacao. Curacao is a small island in the Caribbean. These are my top 21 best beaches and snorkeling spots in Curacao. I’m going to start at the southernmost point and work my way up the west coast of Curacao to the northernmost point. The east coast of Curacao is mostly rocky so I’m not featuring any beaches on the east coast. I have also created a full video for each one of these beaches with more information including parking, fees, restaurants, amenities, etc...

Fantastic video !!! Can you take your drone to Curacao without any restrictions?
I normally register my drone before going to a country, but I couldn't find anywhere to do this in Curacao. I even emailed them and never got a response. There were no restrictions when I went through the airport in Curacao. I had no problems flying my drone. If you see a sign for no drones, respect it, but otherwise it was fine. That was my experience a year ago when we went. Curacao was absolutely amazing!
Looks like Curacao is my next adventure!

Thanks for the awesome footage, just made my mind up where to go on vacation this year. We’re the beaches crowded? Also, where did you stay on you way up the coast, at various AirB&Bs? One more was it safe to travel and hike thru the island?
Hey Gregory, thanks for the feedback. You're going to love it! There were a few beaches that were crowded, but the majority were not crowded at all. We stayed up on the Northwest side of the island at the Marazul Dive Resort. We booked it through VRBO.com. We had a rental car and went all over the island and did lots of hiking too. We never felt in danger. You should still take common precautions like not leaving anything in your car while your out, but overall it felt very safe. This is best snorkeling island video I have seen. What beaches would you recommend that has shortest swim for best snorkeling? My husband injured his wrist so we dont know how well he be able to swim so i think tugboat is out.
Thanks for the kind words. I hope your husband's wrist heals up quickly. I would recommend Playa Lagun, Playa Piskado for the turtles, and Cas Abao Beach.

Thanks Susan. I filmed all of my underwater footage with a GoPro Hero 11. The newest camera is the GoPro Hero 12. Either of those will give you amazing footage. Have a great trip!

We went in November and the water felt great. Our snorkeling masks are Oceanways SuperView-HD Mask - Black Silicone that you can buy on Amazon. Hope that helps 😃

Hi Jordan. This is an awesome informative snorkeling tour. Are there any fees to pay? Tropical fish...but wow a sea snake? Love to try sea cave snorkeling. It mast be a little cool temp.What season is the best to avoid crowds to visit? Not hurricane season neither... Thank you so much for taking us to the underwater world.
Thanks, most of the snorkeling was free. If you go to Klein, you have to go by boat so there is a fee for that. Yes, it's best to avoid Hurricane season.
@JordanOutside which is when if you know for sure?
October-November has the highest chance of bad weather due to hurricanes. But if those take a more northern path even those months can be fine. There will be more tourists in summer and during (Dutch) school holiday weeks, but the island is big enough.
Actually the ABCs are one of if not the best islands to visit in the Caribbean during hurricane season as they lie outside of the hurricane belt. Even so, the chances are slim elsewhere and shouldn't deter your trip.

Since we only have half the day here on our cruise, what 4/5 Beaches would u recommend for someone that doesnt snorkel much but loves clear blue water and sandy beaches. Thanks!

Hi Jordan, question for you. We are cruising in March. We would like to book a private trip to one of the snorkelling destinations. There are 4 of us but 3 don't snorkel. So looking for a location that has something for the 3 people to do while the other snorkels. Also if you could recommend a driver/guide.
Hi Brenda, thanks for reaching out. While we were there we had our own rental car and drove everywhere ourselves, so I don't have a recommendation for a driver or guide. If 3 of you aren't going to snorkel, I would recommend Cas Abao Beach as it's a beautiful beach and has great snorkeling too. Have a great trip, you're going to love it.
Wow, great video, i love snorkeling. Are those sea snakes? I don t know why but they scare me so much unlike anything in the world
Thanks! I thought they were sea snakes, but I learned that they are a type of eel. They just nibble on the algae and never tried coming after us.

Hi Jordan I have been reading from recent visitors to Curacao just a few weeks ago that there is a large stray dog problem in Curacao. Did you notice this in November? Did you notice any stray dogs at the Marazul Dive Resort? Thank you again.
Hi Gail, we didn't notice a stray dog problem. At least not at the beaches we went to. We stayed at the Marazul Dive Resort (which is gated) and didn't see any dogs there either. Hope that helps 😃

Im assuming from all the drone footage that they are cool with droves there? Im going in April, is there any permits necessary or fly at will? What drone did you use?
I didn't have any issues. I emailed their drone authority, but never got a response back. I have my Part 107 US license, so I had that with me just in case. I fly a DJI Mavic 3.

If you only had one day which 2/3 beaches would you go to for the best snorkeling over all? We only have one day and it’s hard to pick! 😅
Hi Kathryn, that's a great question. For snorkeling I would go to Tugboat Beach and snorkel out to the shipwreck. I would also go to Cas Abao Beach for the beach and snorkeling. That would probably take the day, but would be totally worth it. Hope that helps 😃
@@JordanOutside Is the water shallow at these beaches or do you have to go into deep water in order to see the fish?
@@alissaossip3479 That's a great question. Most areas areas that I got footage are around 10 feet deep. Obviously you can go deeper the farther you go out, but most of the reefs weren't that deep. Hope that helps.
What is the closest beach and best snorkeling closer to the port
Tugboat Beach for snorkeling and Mambo Beach for the beach are probably the closest.
Jordan, you have to go back to Curacao or Exuma. I know they're completely different. You have one week. You're forced to pick.
What's the answer?
This is a tough question. If I had to choose for snorkeling definitely Curacao. If I had to choose for beaches, definitely Exuma. If I had to choose for a blend of both, I think Exuma just barely beats out Curacao. Hope that helps 😃
How long did it take for you to see all 21?
We were there for 7 days and it took us all 7 days.
But commute wise, what are talking about approximately from one beach to another?❤
@@krazykara1327 That's a great question, but I'm not sure since we did it over 7 days and each beach is a different distance. Google Maps might be a good tool to figure that out. Sorry I'm not much help on that.

Hi great video! How much did the rental car cost ? Was there a grocery store near where you stayed? If you were to stay somewhere without a car, where would you stay? Thanks so much for the great info and video!
Hey Robert, We rented a Jeep from Airport Car Rental. We were there for 9 days and it came to $1,567. There is a grocery store in George Town that we went to each time we needed groceries. I would not recommend staying there without a car. There is so much to see and I didn't see a public transit system. Have a great time!
