I wont ruine the guessing game but company that makes fert spreaders always had 3 blades on the mowers , the company sticker on his mower bought a famous plough company that had themselves bought the famous fert spreader company years ago , wouldn't mind trying one to see if the extra one lets you go faster

Changing the blades is an easy job with an impact wrench. If you have a decent cordless drill then buy a body only impact wrench of the same brand and use your drill battery and charger.
Even a cheap lidl parkside impact wrench that you just leave in the cab will work.
Personly i have a 1/2 dewalt brushless that i use, aaves loads of time and has yet to fail on a wheel nut.
That's 99% quieter than the massey mower
I love machinery. Always have. But I am peculiar in that I don't like new stuff anymore. There was a time when I wanted the latest and greatest. But by about mid 80's that changed. Everything started getting more complicated. Everything built down to a price. Not designed to last. Computers controlling all functions. Not being able to work on them yourself. Emissions crap. There is little to love for me in new machinery. The older I get. The worse I get. I could go back to a horse.
Ditto with tractors. After circa late 90's amd early 00's have lost interest. Same as cars; just computers on wheels. Boring!
Knverland bought taarup and then bought vicon, then kubota bought Knverland. Saw triple blades on a vicon before. Plenty of heritage a long established mower with Japanese quality.
Well done on the new equipment, much needed. Don’t forget to grease every time you put it on and take it off, bit of grease reduces the maintenance

Nothing wrong with orange it cool. I was surprised to see three bladed discs never seen that before.
The Kubotas are just KV underneath good call I would say good on you guys!

heading into our 3rd season on a Kubota mower, no complaints. We found the 3 blades cut short 2nd and 3rd crop a lot nicer than the 2 blade.
I'm still waiting for that Kubota guy and his sweet deal he had to comment.🙄👍

Perhaps the reason Harry preferred the Kavernerland variant of this mower is that it would save him having to correct your pronunciation every time to say Kubota (or is it Kubuto?). Joking aside, the 2.4m width should save you time and diesel with your “hell of a crop of grass” 😀

New equipment is always cool. So I pulled a Richard yesterday and spilled a line of fertilizer about a 1000 feet. Ground driven spreader and I forgot to disengage the drive wheel.
We got rain and thunder storms in South Yorkshire in the night but got more warmer❤

I'm wondering if you can get a deflection plate for under the mower so it's then not sticking out the back.. I'd either whack my shin or bend it within an hour or so 😂... stay safe Richard and Co 🏴 . Well done with the new purchase Richard, sounds to run much more quietly than the red one! That alone has got to be better long term for your health! Just need to get that Massey hitched off the muck spreader and on to the front of the new mower now!! Would be a much better tractor for the job , better visibility nice shuttle nice pto switch faster hydraulics with better spool lever position good passenger seat and best of all no loader in the way!
That should be a good mower Richard 👍🏻 basically a vicon mower because they are built in the same factory.

as long as the price is right and the mower right for you then thats all that matters, nowt wrong with kubota, know a guy down here that runs a full fleet of them plus their mowers ect , it will save you some time thats for sure. knocking down them acres

I have the same mower!! Great little mower. One thing I learnt was there is a working and parked leaver on the ram if it’s in parked it won’t pick up all the way and you can’t get the pin in to lock in transport mode. You may have already worked it out but just thought I’d say as the company I bought it off didn’t know why it wasn’t going fully up. Love the vids

I Think you did the right thing, Thats Vicon technique, because kubota bought Vicon/Kverneland and with the 3 blades per disc the mowing Quality is very good

Is it only vicon that does 3 blades? Ive seen some with some without but never noticed which brands. 3 in my head seems a no brainer over 2 so not sure why it's that way

I've owned a Kubota discbine for almost 7 years now. It's been a great mower. Glad you chose a bigger one- much more efficient for your farm 🙂
It's an exact copy of a Vicon mower in kubota colors, had 2 of those mowers here over the years, grand mower.
Best of luck with it, don't hit too many stones or you'll be worn changing blades 😂

Well done on the new mower Richard but i notice no one has picked up on the two dogs in the field , they should not have been there , if a rabbit had run out of the grass those dogs would have chased them and could have run in to mower ????? did you see Farmer P and the fawn when he was mowing .
Brilliant choice of mower, iv'e got the vicon version, mines a mower conditioner, same width, my 100 hp Massey drives it no problem
that kubota that you bought has a good history behind it it is made well with few to no breakdowns, you made the right decision

That mower you bought is actually a Kubota branded vicon. Vicon are the only mower to have the triple blade disk system. You are correct, Kubota own kvernland but also vicon.
Any mower will be fine really so the deal which you are happy with is the best deal for you. Its the same as any machinery, if you look after it and not abuse it then it should serve you well.
Well done Richard on the new mower, I think the majority of us will be pleased you went for the 2.4 metre size ......your tractor seems to handle it with ease. and if it's basicaly a kverneland mower just in different colours i'm sure it will last you many years. As you quite rightly say you have to do things on a farm in baby steps and not all at once.

Yes kubota compmany bought the vicon brand which was previously owned by kverneland. Vicon is good quality stuff. They are exact same build juat different colour

Richard slow folding will be flow restrictors on the mower ram or pipe work to stop it ripping itself apart . Some comments recommend adjusting the tractor spool flow which it doesn't have, others suggest your tractors knackered just because it's got a new mower hung on it, I think not. I think the slow lifting is more to do with the hydraulic pump flow on your McCormick than a issue with the mower. Farmer P remarked on how much faster the hydraulics on the new tractors he tried out were compared to his Case. All to do with Gallons per minute. Or should that be Litres per minute . Harry reminds me of just how keen I was at his age to be allowed to drive tractors.
