    Why you need to upgrade your Harley Davidson M8 oil pump
    This video demonstrates the importance of updating the oil pump on M-Eight's. This customer had a 131" build done and the builder left the 1st genteration HD oil pump in it as Chris Waddell explains in the video. He also shows the amount of oil that was in the case which would not be there if the oil pump was doing its job. Cycle Solutions Inc recommends the Feuling Oil Pump, camplate and lifter upgrade especially when doing a large build but also for any cam upgrade in a M-Eight.

    I’ve just bought a Harley and I know it’s expensive compared to other bikes but I already enjoy personalising it with the array of after market parts available that you don’t tend to see on the Japanese bikes

    Changed out my oil pump cam plate lifters and cuffs to S&S. I know fueling is a good product as well

      What about the 2021 models ? Do they have the same issues ?

      @@Dino-qf3gl not yet they redesigned the oil pump in the 2020 models. They encourage people to get that oil pump installed. So far I like the S&S much quieter valve train for sure.

    My 02 TC88 (RKC) with 78K on the clock hums along like the day I drove it off the lot. I sure enjoy riding my bike miles and miles of trouble free miles.

      so let me get this straight... you actually RIDE your bike?? You mean to tell me that you have more miles driven than dollars spent? You must be a 'freak' because today's 21st century 'biker', thinks nothing of spending $30K+ on a bike that needs a 'better' oil pump. ??????

    Which Pump should I go with? the S&S 2020 pump has the O-Ring like the 2020 HD pump, and as far as I can tell you don't need to check run out.
    But the Feuling Pump is made of better performing materials, and has more flow, and they said it gives 2HPgains on the rear wheel.
    I'm leaning towards the S&S one since it's cheaper and has the copied Harley O-Ring.

      I feel that any aftermarket pump is better than stock, as it doesn't scavenge the oil out well enough. I don't have dyne numbers to compare the two? I have installed both set ups from both manufacturers and have had great success in taking care of the swamping issues....

    Great video. Any preference between the S&S oil pump and cam chest vs Fueling oil pump and cam chest? Thanks.

      I'm not partial to either, I have used the S&S line up of parts for years, nothing wrong with Fueling! They're both fantastic!

    Thanks for the video. I have a stock 2020 Road King with 7k miles on it. Do you recommend this upgrade if I do not plan any performance enhancements?

    I just bought a 2008 Street Glide FLHX. It has the 96 CI engine. Right now it's currently a stage 1. I was told today that if I upgrade the cams it's best to do the oil pump while I am in there. For my bike, what pump, and cams, would anyone recommend as an upgrade?

    If I forgot to order new lifters/tappets and S&S tappet cuffs... Will the stock Harley parts be okay? Got the S&S pump, plate, 475C, inner cam bearing, adjustable push rods, o-rings and gaskets... Just a stage 2 build, so not huge power. Hoping I can get it back together without them. Thanks

    So what do you with stock 117 motor that’s almost 7 thousands runout with 4000 mi on it ?

    • @ragingninja4292
      @ragingninja4292 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s a lot ;( you have to get the crank welded balanced and pinned so it doesn’t do it anymore. Bad design from the factory, call some local shops about getting it done. It’s not urgent, but once it gets over 10 thousands excessive wear will start to occur and ruin your oil pump

    • @rogervoigt728
      @rogervoigt728 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The bad part is the factory tolerance is .0012 I would gladly pay for the upgraded crankshaft my local dealers won’t do anything about it because it’s still within tolerance. Any suggestions?

    Let's see, i can buy a $30k bike & spend $20k on it to make it run right or i can buy a $ 3k bike an spend $20k on it to make it better than a new $30k bike for $23k
