i love it when TASrunners have nothing to do but wait, so they fool around for a bit
Time for some high speed, flawless shenanigans
That's one of the unwritten rules of TASing. They try to make down time as entertaining as possible
2:22:02 boing
Late comment, but can you imagine going to a foreign planet with ant like animals and finding treasure worth over 130 years of a high end salary in only a week?

4:12 this is me. This represents me. This is me when the Pikmin take their sweet time to carry stuff to the Onion and Research Pod. This is me when they can't hurry the heck up
That part made me laugh more than it should've
gross
Louie charging up and releasing his death beam that is completely canon to the pikmin lore don’t question it
nearly a 3 hour long tas, it actually pains my mind to think how long this took to make, thank you for your extraordinary determination and will.
4:12 louie pulls out the particle acellarator
2:46:55 okay this is just messed up. The TAS is literally mind-controlling (RNG manipulating) the spiders to bring the items closer. Insanity.
Massive thumbs way up to this video though.
45:27 moonwalking purple, it just happened on its own
Impressive. I learned something new at 1:23:11
Foreshadowing
WHAT NO WAY
@@pabloespinola3855for a second I couldn’t tell what the joke was but then it hit me lol
55:13 craziest part of all the speedrun
agreed
I've always found the sound effects of pikmin to be really calming and satisfying. Well except the pikmin death sounds.
54:34 Super Louie... Awayyyy!!
57:45 is so insane because his timing perfectly lines up with the collection of the crown
You're a very brave person, Tasing an extremely long game.
54:34 Very nice 😂
The fight against the cavern of chaos boss was incredible
13:00 Louie, olimar is right there. You don't have to use your communicator and constantly call his name XD or are you scared?
I never noticed how the tune changed when you switched between olimar and louie
louie's soundteack has that swaaaaang 🎻🎻
Dandori to the max
The "no memory card inserted" sound followed by ambience is soooo creepy
It's hard to tell if that sounds more creepy and unsettling than the Submerged Castle theme.
1:16:10 the whistle going with the song was a nice add on
4:12 = louie particle accelerator
Lol
2:52:31 I've never seen that Titan Dweevil glitch before where it tries to prepare a weapon that it no longer has access to, I'm guessing it has to do with the last two weapons being knocked off at the same time.
Still interesting nonetheless.
That whole fight was clearly not prepared to be decimated like that; it seems like it might be why the music went a bit screwy at the end
A true master of Dandori!!
I hope there's more "0 pikmin death" runs in the future
Wouldn't the Wii Version of the game be faster due to being able to aim the whistle independent of your movement? Or are there techniques/advantages to playing the GC version that make up for that?
the wii version of the game can’t skip cutscenes or do early blues making it slower.
@@sbudiver_ Ah interesting. Thanks for letting me know.
Even the “being able to aim” thing matters a lot less than you might think. In the GC version, the captain’s momentum is added to the Pikmin’s when you throw, allowing for loads of options in where a player with perfect inputs can actually throw.
There’s also a slightly more niche strat where the captain can actually ram into the thrown Pikmin to give it an extra boost, because Pikmin-captain collisions mostly follow conservation of momentum with internal weight params, and Pikmin weigh way less than captains.
38:16 That was so smooth, I'm in awe.
this tas guy has amazing dandori...
so how does pikmin 2 tas even work with procedurally generated dungeons?
4:12 *sezuire intensifies*
Couldn’t you have placed olimar at a place where he could pluck pikmin at 4:43 or am I missing something??
Was this made before "Cave Complete Skip" was found? Or maybe this TAS doesn't do it so that everything shows up on the final total?
Louie's eyes bugging out at rhe begining is always so funny
After so long, nintendo has finally considered me worthy for an ad for pikmin bloom.
9:53 always fun to watch this maneuver!
45:03 interesting showcase that the boulder follows whoever the captain is selected!
54:33 Louie flight course
Ngl this tas made water wraith less scary in pikmin 4 for me so uh... thanks?
2:22:00 yeah every human can do that
a human can’t, but a tas can
All TAS runs are performed by humans using out-of-game tools, usually in the form of instant frame pausing and reloading for precise inputs, as well as counters that allow humans to understand the RNG as it is generated to understand patterns.
Runs performed by bots playing the game with the assistance of out-of-game tools will be labeled [TASbot].
I’m curious - this run was made before the Cavegen tool was made. How did you go about finding really fast sublevel layouts?
Most likely reset a few times. If he can tas a 3 hr run, he can easily do that.
im very curious to know how long this run took to piece together. great work!
great TAS really enjoyed it. I wish you didn't keep the camera back all the time, cant see much of what you do in terms of exploits and glitches.
I appreciate your dedication to maintaining your video library.
How did almost every egg drop a spicy or bitter spray?
TAS can manipulate random number generation to get lucky stuff to happen whenever they want
Consider how much time must have been needed for duengon floor plan optimazation...
I’m no leafing but this level of dandori got me acting unwise
4:12 what are you doing here?
It's just a bit of humour, some TASes throw it in occasionally. The camera and whistle spam are what a lot of players to whilst waiting for Pikmin, so this TAS is parodying that impatience.
he's generating chi energy
Most TAS runs kill time with entertaining actions while they wait for something important. It's a part of TAS runs that I love because more often than not they do frame-perfect shenanigans that's just so entertaining to watch lol
1:40:21 how did that wall to the exit get taken down so fast lol
that particular wall has significantly less hp than any other wall in the game
i understand the camera stuff is helpful for knowing whats going on while making the TAS, but god i wish it used a closer in angle so it wasnt so hard to see what was going on
Hi, do you have the input file saved for this TAS?
Yes, it is. This TAS was created 4 years ago and is saved as a save file in dolphin 5.0.114 version. However, it is split into multiple files (split at the time of cave entry and date change), and this video is an edited version of those files.
If you need those input files, I can provide them.
@@misuimiran1041 Thanks for the reply. Could you put a link to the input files in the description if possible please? Thank you.
@@Simipour1 Copy that. Please wait a moment as I will provide you with the link after confirming the file.
@@Simipour1 I have included the link to the input file in the video description. If you have any problems, please reply to this comment.
@@misuimiran1041 Thanks!
American submerged castle and Japanese submerged castle look different... Yikes, still creepy though.
They look the same?

Why is day and final floor not in Japanese?
You made the final boss look like a joke 😂.
4:14 big
2:20:16 Okay, there's no way you made every single one of those shots. You're playing a modded version of the game. Still fun to watch though.
this is a TAS. it’s not a modded version of the game, but it’s essentially using software that allows for features such as frame advance and reversing to create a theoretical perfect run.
Do you not know what a TAS is
TAS: *Tool Assisted Speedrun*
In essence, a computer is playing or aiding the player. This would, of course, include perfect aiming/positioning/movement/input/whatever-you-can-think-of.
I like how everything else seemed normal for the first 2 hours and 20 minutes, and then hitting a bunch of dwarf bulborbs really fast was too much
@@dylantucker5374
Not quite… it’s more like the player can play a frame at a time and use as many save states as they want, then they stitch everything together at the very end to make it real-time. It’s theoretically perfect human performance, and sometimes even better than a human could perfectly do.
