Gotta love when TAS Kirby can pick any desired ability when inhaling 2 or more enemies
Couldn't one do almost the same thing with very good reaction time?
Actual human speedrunners can do it too
We do this in real time runs as well! We memorize which powers come up when you suck up 2 enemies then time our A press so we get the same power every time! It's a 4 frame window to do so, which is 1/15th of a second, so it's not easy, but it gets easier with more practice and experience!

The one thing the dark forces that invaded Dream Land never expected was a little pink wheel rolling at 9 million miles per hour beating them up so fast it didn't register until 5 seconds after he left.
Honestly the most accurate canonically. They are idiots to mess with Kirb
I still gotta give it to HAL, a Kirby pseudo-Co-Op Metroidvania really was crazy enough to work!
They need to do it again but better. The game is a novelty for sure but it's very clunky for a metroidvania

This is how you can see how well the game is done, so that there are not so many Bugs, Kirby's programmer is the best of all
You just gotta love how the other kirbys are minding their business and actually doing something else

I just now realized that the main theme for olive ocean (underwater) is also a major chunk of the second phase final boss theme
The Area 6 theme sometimes makes me think of the boss theme
TAS bot can sure make miracles out of rockets and tires
TASBot and TAS are two different things. TASBot is the replay device used by DwangoAC for actual console. Most TASes are just on emulation.

Gotta say, I really love how the Missile ability was utilized throughout this run.
Also, the way Kirby just stands in mid-air after Dark Meta Knight's defeat is pure gold.
And when DMK is gonna retreat after first fight Kirby straight up dances when he is retreating
I love that the runner does their best to spare sleeping enemies.
I think its quicker to lwt them live
this game's music is phenomenal. actually incredible what they did with what they had.

man i loved this game as a kid. still love it but i've already memorized most boss routes and chest locations after playing it so much lol.
I'm almost glad that I don't play it so frequently so that I forget the routes lol. Like playing it over again.

This game has a very unusual interpretation of the phrase "Jesus take the wheel"
When you move so fast that the other 3 kirbys can't even keep up on the same screen as you
they couldn't keep up anyways, unless you wait for them basically.
I waited for them and they stiil couldn't keep up
They dont try to keep up they like to do their own thing
The helper Kirbies wander around the world. You can call them by pressing R for help, like getting a big stone block to move, but it will deplete your battery. How much battery you have is shown on the top left of the screen
I think what amazes me about TAS-ing Kirby is sometimes you don't actually see any deliberate damage until halfway into the video, and when it happens, it's always blink-and-you'll-miss-it.
My favorite Kirby game to date omg

Nothing against Star Allies, but the 4 player co op isn't even a fraction as good as the co-op in this game was, or rather, could have been, considering how inconvenient linking was.

What’s with 21:05? If you can get bomb from a single enemy, why mix two and stop it on bomb? Doesn’t that waste time? It is it something RNG-related?
It was a mistake. The author commented that he could have just gotten Bomb from the one enemy. I think he became so used to mixing that he overlooked that the ability he wanted was already right in front of him. There's probably a moral in there somewhere.
That, or he forgot that the enemy gives Bomb. 😄
@@DigiEggz I never played Amazing Mirror, but iirc in past Kirby games they gave nothing. Almost sure of it in Super Star

@@TurboPikachu there is a similar enemy in Dream Land 3 and some others too (I think Star Allies) that give nothing. It’s like a blue version of that enemy.
After watching TheRunawayGuys play through this, I can't believe my very eyes. At the end, Kirby was like "Who needs this silly little sword anyway?"

IIRC Mix can't be stopped within the first few frames after it's triggered, so he has to wait for the next one.

47:21 I have never been able to figure out how to get on the opposite side. I seem to recall there's a block that all 4 Kirby's have to inhale to move, but the bots never cooperate
Turns out that this big block can be pushed bit by bit by stomping the ground near it with stone ability of all things, also works with galaxia's downward dash
You had to use a rock copy ability to push the rock over the geyser in the room b4

I'm going to say this is the best kirby game ever made, the maps are huge and soundtrack is brilliant especially the Exclusive Kirby abilities way better than squeak squad!!!!

I got so lost on my first 100% playthrough of this, and you made this look like child's play
I just finished playing this game a few weeks ago, and it really is a great game (once you figure out where you're going).
All you need is maps of every area. And if you don't have a map of a certain area and try to view that area(in the pause menu), it won't show all rooms but it will show a room where the map for the area can be found(its color will resemeble the area in a way), you only need to find a way to get to that room.
The missile movement is sooooo satisfying.

At 37:26, how in the hell did they get a Wheel off of the single Stone enemy?

Get Wheel or Fight-ability from golems
Golems are obviously stone enemies and will give you stone when absorbing their ability. Some golem enemies, however, will give you wheel or fighter. It depends their current movement. Not every golem can perform all the available movements. Some can only use a stomp attack (stone), some can only use a rolling attack (wheel), and some can only use a punch (fighter). But I can recall there being one who was able to perform all the available actions. I think he was in room 22...

Waiting to inhale one of them would slow him down so he chose to get a Mix. And Mix lets you keep your previous speed(before getting a Mix)

I always like to imagine the enemies just being like "......... wtf just happened?" In speedruns

TAS is not a guy it’s a form of speed running and the people use frame by frame setups to make TAS

At 21:07, I'm fairly certain those enemies give the bomb ability when sucked up normally. Why did you use the Mix ability to get it instead? Does it save frames somehow?
the foley falling animation is slower than doing the setup you see mugg do, by skipping it he also keeps the momentum of kirby’s movement speed
also he is getting as much frames of wheel’s fast horizontal speed as possible before collecting the ability.

@Cristopher At least you got THAT close to 100%. All the times I played this, I always reached only 80% or so, and last time I played I reached 94% only.

I think because it was starting to spin! I'd have to try with a physical copy (i have one so i might check in a little while) but that's my guess!
@@flagnarb8066 interesting, I actually forgot that, that can happen, it’s honestly a really cool feature.
There’s three different types of that enemy. One gives stone, another gives fighter, and the last gives wheel.
There are 3 types of golems and they have different palette and ability. This one gives Wheel. Also, you can find 2 Stone Golems that can do all of the possible actions(punch, stomp, roll) while going through the route which leads to the Area 8 Boss
Theres 3 golems and that guy is the wheel type
